When I called that Thursday, I specifically said I wanted acrylics. I asked how much, they said…read more$55. They said the next opening was the next Tuesday which was pushing my timeframe because I am going out of town for a few weeks and was hoping to have them last that long. It's been years since I've had my nails done, so I was looking forward to it. When I arrived, I told the woman my name and said I had an appointment for acrylics. There was only a woman and a man working in there - no one else was in the salonn - no customers. The woman said they do not do acrylics, only dip nails. I told her when I called I said acrylics and no one said they didn't do them. The man jumped in, kind of aggressive tone and said they haven't done acrylics in over 5 years. I was not being argumentative at all but I was disappointed because I didn't have time to reschedule with anyone else. She asked me if I wanted to do the dip and I asked "will it last for 3 weeks, I'm going out of town and the last time I had dip it fell off early." She said it would stay on for 3 weeks so I agreed. Then I told her I wanted it to be natural color with a white tip. She said the shellac would be the best for me. I didn't know what a shellac was, I said I wanted the tip to not be too long, she asked me "this long?" and I said yes, and she started working on my nails. She had mumbled something in the middle of working on my nails, I couldn't hear her because she said it so quietly so I didn't reply. I'm wondering now if it was some kind of tactic to say that I agreed to what she was doing. She said something again, and I had to ask her again because I couldn't hear her. she said more loudly "relax" because apparently I was not turning my arm the weird position she wanted it at. I have arthritis in my hands and joints so it was uncomfortable and I said that to her. So while she worked about halfway through I asked her if the tip would be longer. She said in kind of a gruff voice, "I know what you want" She kept working and it ended up basically gel nail polish with a hardener over my nails, no length at all! She charged me $60 for what was done, she did ask if that was ok, but I had no idea what a shellac was supposed to cost, so when I got home I checked online to see what other salons were charging for it. I also checked to see what it was because I didn't have any idea. It says it will only last a couple of weeks! Other places are charging around $30 plus an extra $5 for the white tip. I called to ask her why I was charged so much and she said something about special something underneath. She got argumentative and said I agreed to it which of course is not true because she knew when I started asking questions in the middle of getting them done, that I didn't understand. I just feel taken advantage of and I should have not been charged so much. Won't go back there ever again!

A love letter: I…read morecame to get a pixie cut de-bulked and trimmed up in the back. Tammy was my stylist. It's my first good pixie cut maintenance ever! I almost hugged her. Tammy listened to me, told me what she was doing at each step, and didn't take too much off. And she's very nice. The price was very low and I will be going back to Tammy for as long as I live in the area.

I went here twice in one month because I had heard good things about the Salon. The first time I…read morewent, I was trying to get my hair dyed back to my natural color. My hair was a darker brown then my natural shade but nothing too drastic. My stylist's name was Hannah I believe. She did several things to my hair and when my appointment was over she said my tips were a bit darker then my roots but that you couldn't see a line for my roots and it looked very natural. The salon doesn't have very good lighting so I looked in the mirror and thought it was fine. Upon going home and looking at my hair in my very well lit bathroom I saw that you could still see my roots very clearly and now the top of my hair was a lighter shade of brown and the bottom was a much darker shade. The transition was not at all natural, with lines dividing each shade. When calling them back, the salon workers acted like they couldn't be bothered to talk about my unhappy situation and told me that it was the best possible job they could have done. To say I was disappointed was an understatement. The second time I went was because it was prom and I already had the appointment and I knew I wouldn't be able to get another in time. Again I left the salon with something that looked nothing like what I asked for. Because day Modish it seems like the workers just like to do their own interpretations of what you ask for. I will never ever be going back there and I recommend that you don't either.

Went back the next day and stood at the front for several minutes. Two or three girls looked at me but didn't say anything. I saw one nudge another girl and that girl finally approached me. At that point, I could tell most of the stylists had some sort of bad attitude and were standing there gossiping. I was so discouraged, I ended up canceling and never going back. The stylists there are very unprofessional. November 2014- Tried giving it one more try. I live right across the street from them and walked over one day. It took several minutes to be approached again and when I was, the stylist was very catty and kind of rude. She mentioned that she was way too busy to do a walk-in at the moment but didn't offer any other stylist and didn't say anything about just coming back in a little while. I turned around awkwardly and left, just to see the stylists all snickering at me and watching me as I left. Never again.
