I had a great experience today at Shear Elegance. My husband had purchased a gift card for me for a massage with an RMT and a mani/pedi. I arrived a bit early for my appointment but was taken care of right away. The ladies at the front desk were courteous and polite. The massage therapist was Lori and she was great. Pleasant to talk to and left me feeling relaxed and stress-free. The nail technician was Jamie and she did a fantastic job on my nails. She took extra care around my feet as I had a couple of blisters from ill-fitting shoes. Overall my experience was very positive. The location is easy to get to, the spa itself is very clean and inviting, with nice decorations and relaxing music. A wonderful way to be pampered! read more

I have some theories, either this place used to have different management and crew; the owner realized about customers concerns, stepped in and fix the problems; or there were few people who didn't enjoy their job. I came here because I was renting an Airbnb around the corner, the place seemed decent, located in a beautiful neighbourhood, with reasonable prices and the most important thing: they had room to book me next day! I bought a 60 minutes massage with a Registered Therapist, and an Anti aging facial. I wish I could remember the name of that fabulous woman... Oh yeah it's in the card, her name: Alyssa. 100% recomendable. She looks too delicate for giving such a rad massage, her technique touched all the cramped spots in my back without making that much pressure. It was a circular, deep motion that gave me constant electric shakes. The facial was good too, my friend did noticed the shine on my face. Although it was a lil painful in certain areas, nothing as hard as a wax torture. The place it's bigger than it appears. They have a long line with pedi chairs, a fountain, rooms for different things. I would go with a couple of friends for a pampering day. read more

Still Not satisfied with the 'fix' done to my hair. This is probably the worst cut/dye job I've ever had. The owner essentially called me a liar when I told him I had 3 kids in tow. When I showed up with them he said 'oh I guess you really do have 3kids' thank you for ruining my hair that I had planned to make beautiful for my big day. Perhaps if my stylist wasn't treated like a dog and wasn't so overbooked I would have been given better attention. $220 down the drain and wasted. Too bad the media will see my hair tomorrow. read more

Shear Elegance has been my "go to" salon and spa for years, and I always leave extremely satisfied with their services. The hair dressers and estheticians are friendly, professional and experienced. I'm very particular about the way I want my nails to look, and the estheticians are extremely accommodating and always do an excellent job. Even on the busiest days, Shear Elegance's hair dressers have never made me feel rushed.. They always do a wonderful job and give me exactly what I ask for. I highly recommend this place! read more

This has always been my favorite spa in London and I've tried virtually all of them. The owner always remembers me and the staff are very warm and welcoming. I'm a 30ish year old guy, but never feel uncomfortable or out place here the way I do at some other places. I've always found them to be more competivily priced, at least for the services I've tried - particularly for microdermabrasion treatments. I live on the other side of town, so I don't go here for haircuts often, but I have got a few cuts at the men's den over the years and they have always been perfect. Looking forward to the end of all these lockdown and restrictions so I can get back in for a spa day. read more

I was grossly disappointed after having to pay full price for a service that I did not receive. I had initially booked for a massage, however, on arrival, I thought I would have a pedicure as well. I was advised that time would not allow to have both services completed so I opted to have the pedicure instead. To my surprise when I was paying for the pedicure I noticed I was being charged for the massage therapy, I called it to the attention of the receptionist who explained that I was being charged for the massage session despite not receiving the service because the time was booked for that. I was very disappointed that this information was not shared at the time of the service switch and I was only made aware when it was time to pay. read more

Went here for a full set of gel nails and I don't think the quality of the work was worth the price charged. You can go anywhere for gel nails and I thought this place looked nice and they seem reputable, so I gave them a chance. Not worth it, I'll stick to my regular place. The gel doesn't look evenly applied and there are some small bubbles in the polish and she didn't even do a real manicure for my cuticles, she just put oil on after and rubbed it around. If you're in the market to get your nails done, check out "Its All About Me Spa" similar price points, but much better quality of work. read more

If you love your hair, DO NOT GET YOUR HAIR DONE AT THIS SALON!!!! I came in for a consultation first to see if they could change my hair color. I wanted see if it could be done first. The owner had a look at my photo and my hair. The photo was of Jennifer Aniston. I love her hair color. Beautiful browns, coppers and blonde. He said he could come close. Not exactly but he could do this. He would have to strip my hair color, which is brown so he could achieve what he wanted. Fine. I figured, he's the hair stylist and owner. He should know best. They stripped my hair and then started to put low lights in. As they started to dry my hair, I noticed that my hair was orangey yellow. Nothing like my picture. Not even close. I left but was not happy. I got home and my husband said that it looked like a horrible mess. The crown of my hair, which was virgin (no color on it) had turned yellow and the rest of my hair was turning a orangey brown. Nothing matched. My hair does not flow. The stylist said he cut it but I couldn't even tell he did that either. My husband said, go back. I paid $246 that's including tip and taxes, for my hair. he said get them to fix it. I went back and told them I was unhappy. I was never treated so badly in my life. The stylist said it was my fault. He said the picture of Jennifer Aniston was "deceiving" and now could he expect me to get it close to that. He put all the blame on me. Not once even apologizing. I sat in his chair in tears, not that my hair was a mess but how he was treating me. His client. A customer. He said "what do you want me to do?" um.. hello!! you should know how to fix this!! I took out the picture of Jennifer Aniston and said I don't even come close to this. My hair need more brown in it. He put more low lights in. While the foils were in my hair, they took me over to get my nails done as if that would make things better. I could care less about my nails. He dried my hair. And said "When I see you next time, we will put more brown in". UM NEXT TIME!!! Are you kidding ME!!! I will never go back to this salon ever again. Please think twice. These people are the "experts". We are a walking advertisement for them. They should know better to send a person out looking the way I did. My hair is now brassy and dry. I'm embarressed about my hair and no longer feel pretty. I have to wait now to get this fixed because it is damaged from the stripping. I will be writing a letter to the owner of the salon, a lot of good it will do me since he is the one that did my hair.... but I want my money back. I look like a hot mess. I always enjoy my time at shear elegance. I've been for a number of services (pedis, RMT, facials and waxing services before). I've always left feeling satisfied and rejuvenated. Awful experience. I would never come back and woudn't recommend this establishment. I was booked for low lights with Emily, but when I arrived to the salon - Emily was not there. I was nice enough to give another women that was present on the premises a chance. She didn't introduce herself and her appearance was kind of very casual...I had a picture that showed exact hair colour I wanted. I also specified that I only want foil application and am completely against full application of the colour and bleaching. She mixed the colour (in another room) and came back. I closed my eyes and prepared myself for being pampered (at 140 dollars for low lighting - I thought I was totally eligible for that. I was wrong. When I didn't hear the sound of foil and felt the brush on my hair - I opened my eyes in surprise.. She was doing the full colour... I immediately voiced that this is not what I want. Her reply was - "I know" and she picked up another strand of my hair and stroked again. She said - "I know what I'm doing", my reply was - but this is not what I want... She turned around and left stating - "I can't deal with this". Other lady washed my hair and I was shocked that after 15 min of the application it was noticably lighter instead of darker as I requested. She applied the bleach!!!!When I specifically asked not to use it. I felt disposed of and a bit scared. I forgot to mention that my hairstylist's toddler was present at the premises ... Sadly - as much as I can understand mother's eagerness to be with her child - I don't think that it should be a distraction at her work place. read more
