A mix of the past with a touch of the new... a beautiful mansion turned into a beautiful hotel keeping the warmth of the beautiful wood but updated with modern amenities for your convenience... walking through the front door you can feel the history and can't help but instantly admire and respect the craftsmanship in every detail that was put into the railings, the stained glass and the textures and colours of the walls. A friendly greeting and pleasant experience at the front desk you are given a room key... Yes an actual room key... That opens the door to an outstanding room with all the same class and elegance of the lobby but with an updated bathroom, a king size bed and all the conveniences of a new hotel from the flatscreen TV to the mini fridge in the desk and an Nespresso machine for your morning or evening espresso... whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner you're looking for, you need not leave the hotel, the House restaurant is every bit as elegant as the rest of the hotel with great service, a classy ambiance and excellent chef driven cuisine... You will not be disappointed!! This was an experience... A wonderful experience... That was brought to life not only by the hotel itself but by the wonderful staff that take pride in what they are involved in and reminding me of what service really is....or....what it used to be! Thank you so much to all the staff and I look forward to my return! Zeke

The place was well-designed, with manicures set up near the door, and a wall for privacy for people getting their hair done. The hair-washing bowls looked far more comfortable than the standard ones (being tall, I loathe scrunching down to fit in most of them), and there were private rooms to the back of the shop for spa treatments. Elena (I'm sorry if I got this wrong, I am terrible with names!) was a lot of fun to talk to, as well; it seems the art of conversation is something a lot of stylists have lost, but not her. She also gave me some good tips on how to manage my hair in future, things easily done at home. When I need a haircut or a style again, I am definitely going here.

I had gone to another cheaper nail salon and mentioned my ankle and they just ignored it entirely. The ladies at Chic are professional and accommodating. They take a lot of care to make sure you're comfortable and they do a great job. I haven't had hair services here, I mainly have gone for the Aveda Mani/Pedis, they are AMAZING (Lindsay & Meghan are awesome!), I've done the express mani/pedi as well, also great. I've had my brows waxed and a number of elemental facials, all fantastic experiences. The only thing I would say negatively, is that when you're in the back room for a facial, you can hear a lot going on in the salon, so it's not super 'peaceful', but it's still great! I would recommend this salon and spa (and have) to all my family and friends. (I do believe they accept walk-ins, but I always book in advance) - little tip - if you're interested in a Mani/Pedi go to the "Packages" tab on the website and book a "Basics" package, it's an extra couple bucks, but you get an eyebrow wax included. **Update** I have since had my hair styled here for my brothers wedding, they did a great job! I also had my makeup done, and it was done beautifully.

Well, summer is here, and Zana is hiring once again! Surprise, surprise!! I've worked here and it…read moreis an incredibly abusive atmosphere and I feel it is my duty to share my experience. If you want to put your heart and soul in for less than three months (only be used for summer and fired right before probationary period ends so that they don't have to compensate you), go ahead and apply. MAKE SURE they give you a copy of your contract. They never gave me mine, so I wasn't able to go to the labour board for wrongful termination. Also, don't ask for anything less than $17 an hour. Dinha tried to pay me only $15, when her own contract stated I was entitled to $17 an hour. She is very egotistical and cannot stand any simple questioning, as she feels challenged. All she cares about is that you're making her money, and she will treat you accordingly. Her ad is a complete lie as there is absolutely no flexability. I got in trouble for needing to see a specialist on a work day, and almost wasn't allowed to go to my appointment. That was also when she informed me that I was not allowed to take ANY time off work for an entire year. You are also not supplied with anything! You have to pay for 6 pairs of impliments out of your own pocket to be allowed to work. There is also zero job security as I've mentioned it before, make sure you take photos of every page of that contract. Dinha has a pattern of hiring during summer and the holiday season when it is the busiest, and then right after it quiets down, she fires you. Of course right before your probationary period is over, because god forbid she has to compensate anyone. She is a user and an abuser. I was yelled at and called names in front of clients, and yes they noticed. A few of my clients were shocked at her lack of professionalism, some even called her the B word. When I was fired, (while the whole staff was still there listening) I was in tears, begging to keep my job, she called me a brat. She gets off on making others feel small, humiliating them, and snapping at them, even in front of clients and whatever audience is present. At the end of the day, I didn't even intend to write this until I saw her new job posting. You ladies have a right to know exactly what is going on at Zana. I was hired on April 26th of 2022, and then fired two days before my probationary period ended. If that isn't proof enough, I don't know what is. Do not work here. Copy and pasted because they're blocking my review of course!

An absolute terrible experience. Do not get your haircut from Zana Day Spa. I have never written a…read morereview, but I feel I must base on our experience. In December my wife wanted to have a hair cut. It had been nearly three years since her last cut because of the pandemic and giving birth. I booked her an appointment go to Zana based on its reputation as a spa and that we live close to it. I wanted her to have a spa experience. I went online to book and selected a Cut and Style, as its Christmas was only given the option of a 45 min time slot. Her hair was thick and lengthy to below her waist (she's 5ft7). My wife went to Zana and there was a curt hello and please take a seat. Anyway, she waited for her stylist, Carmen to take her over. Carmen washed her hair and then sat her in the chair and asked her what she would like. My wife explained that she would like the cut to be below the chest still keeping her hair long and would like some layering and styling around the face. Carmen without brushing the hair or taking a small amount to confirm, just grabbed a large portion of hair and cut it all off. Then she continued cutting. Where had she cut the hair off? Her shoulders! a foot and a half of hair gone. It's only when another patron looked down in shock did my wife realise more than half of her hair was missing. What meant to be a 6 inch trim was now an 18 inch plus cut! Carmen's only response was it'll grow back. My wife was holding back tears because this was supposed to be a special cut after near 3 years, also her only brothers wedding is coming up and she wanted it long and styled for that. Now it will take months if not years to grow back. Whilst holding back tears she still paid and even left a tip. The cut itself is the worst cut she has ever had, I mean I could have done a better job! There was no layering, no styling around the face just a blunt cut that wasn't even straight. One side of her hair was shorter than the other. Unfortunately, she will have to wait until her hair grows back to have another haircut to fix it otherwise it will be even shorter and harder to tie up. She came home upset and in tears, so I tried calling and calling and calling and couldn't get through. So, I decided to visit Zana and speak with the Manager. I went there and spoke with the receptionist and explained the situation, his response was it didn't look short to him and asked if my wife can come in. Then I spoke with the Manager who said that she wasn't part of the conversation with the stylist and so she brought Carmen over. I explained to Carmen that my wife was upset and that she cut too much off and her blasé attitude was I cut it, its done, now what else do you want. I said obviously I want the money back. She admitted to the manager that she didn't cut what my wife had wanted, but even then, the Management offered no apologies or said how can we make this better. The customer service is awful here. It's not the type of service you would expect from a fancy spa. Also, unprofessional, because whilst my wife was having her hair cut Carmen was commenting on another customer to make light of the fact, she was balding and then proceeded to tell my wife she is lucky to have such thick hair. Then she asked why didn't she book a longer time because her next customer was here. I feel she was scissor crazy and was only interested in being on time for her next client. What was supposed to be a nice, well deserved, self care, feel good experience for my wife, a new mother, ended up being a complete disaster.

They asked me to bring a model for a men's haircut. I found a model. Hairdresser Heather said that I should find a model for highlights within three weeks. These people gave me hope. I didn't look for other options. It looked like they were interested in me. Then something changed. They told me that they weren't sure if they needed an apprentice, despite advertising for one. Before them, I worked for 1.5 years in my profession. I took these people seriously. The receptionist, Linsia, did not call me back for a week. By this time, I found a model for highlights. I had to call multiple times to get a response. Like they ignored me. This salon at first glance gives the impression of being a place where professionals work, but the way they behave is a different story. It seems that they do not respect other people and feel they are superior to apprentices. Hairdressers in all salons take on apprentices. This is a rule and it saves them money.  They could have called me back and told me about their decision. But apparently these people are not familiar with the concepts of professional ethics.  This situation showed me that even in a beautiful salon there can be dishonest, deceitful, arrogant people. But I'm glad I don't work with these fake people. Maybe this review will help someone avoid the same waste of time and disappointment I had.
