We walked in and asked a few questions, then ordered what we wanted. They were also able to deliver due to the close proximity from the bakery. Delivery was a little early, but that was a good thing. The cake turned out amazing! We were very pleased with the overall service and quality of the cake. The cake was moist, tasty, and definitely enough for everyone. The bakery itself does have daily baked goods. The bakery itself is very clean and neat. The employees were nice. If you need a custom cake, I recommend American Dream Cakes nailed for sure.

The cashier/barista was friendly and helpful, giving me a recommendation for one of their seasonal drinks, The Beach Bonfire iced latte for me and the Beachberry iced latte for my husband. The drinks were made quickly and tasted phenomenal! My hubby has just recently started drinking lattes so I was curious to see how he would feel about the Beachberry latte (white chocolate raspberry cold foam), he said it was so delicious that he finished the whole drink! I got the Bonfire Beach iced latte (chocolate sauce, cold foam, marshmallow fluff, crushed graham crackers, toasted marshmallow on top) and it was the perfect s'mores in a cup! Not too sweet, not too overwhelming espresso flavored, just the right amount of marshmallow. The coffee shop was clean and cool, a nice break from the hot summer day! We will definitely be back to try other drinks, and if you are looking for a coffee spot near I-40 it is definitely worth the drive!

I found this cute & quaint little coffee shop, "The Mudroom". I'm from Louisiana, so southern hospitality is what I'm used to. I was disappointed to see common courtesy wasn't a standard in Jacksonville, NC, but i understand there's always good mixed with bad everywhere. However, i was thankful to experience warm hospitality from the owner of the Mud Room. Im giving 4 stars because of the barista's unwelcoming and off-putting personality, as I watched how she treated me & many customers as I worked at a table in the corner. Coffee was fine. For her sake & that of her small business, I'm hoping the owner's personality will rub off on her employee.

Delivery only. Takes a week to ten days for your order…read more Everything is fresh and really high quality. Cons The giant apple fritters had almost no apple filling and because they are so large needed the filling and cinnamon mixture spread more deeply. Otherwise it's more of a glazed cinnamon round bread. The everything bagels were great as far as the bagel bread part goes but lacked in garlic and onion while being so heavily salted I had to wash them off in water before I could eat them. There was more salt than many pretzels have on them. Pros The rolls and bread were perfect and delicious. The sesame bagel's were among the best I've ever had. Fix the fritters and back off the salt on the everything bagels and I would have rated five stars.
