Part that is commonly replaced on most calls. It's 70$

They were professional, they came and fixed the issue on time. But they definitely price gouge and take advantage of you with the pricing. 70$ dual run capacitor is not 800$ and it doesn't even equate to a normal labor cost for 30min -1 hr worth of work. I was in a pinch and had guests, I needed the part. But do your research, have them diagnose and tell you what's wrong with it. Fix it yourself. It's way cheaper. I didn't even want to ask about military discount seeing that's the "value" they give customers. Well at least I was quoted a 5 year warranty through them. But who knows what that will entail. Other than that they do their job. But do NOT offer a good value at all.

Silicone over a new screw, was told this was not a proper seal as the silicone did not touch the roof.

I debated posting this, at this point I think it's important to share my experience. Right before Christmas, my heater stopped working. Shaw's came out, I paid just under $1,000 to have it repaired. New Year's Day, we woke up to a leak on our roof where the AC sits. I called my home warranty company who sent an inspector. The inspector determined the issue may be related to the installation of the HVAC unit (installed prior to us moving in, unknown who installed). They also stated the unit may be leaking. Having good experience with Shaw's, I contacted them to take a look at the unit. They were wonderful. They did a thorough job reviewing the issues and we agreed to purchase a new unit and we were told this would also fix the leak, and they would fix the roof where the leak occurred, they said they were experienced in fixing roofing like this and I didn't need to call a roofer!! We paid just under $14,000. A few weeks after install, we woke up to 4 new leaks on the roof. I contacted Shaw's, they came out several times...and insisted the leaks were not caused by them. So, I had a third party inspector come out who confirmed the leaks were caused by whomever installed the new unit. They showed us pictures of holes that were not properly sealed after the old unit was removed and areas where the newly installed frame was not sealed properly. Shaw's was respectful through the process, and ultimately agreed to fix the issue, although they never directly accepted accountability. Prior to the day the person came to fix it, I was told he would go in the attic to determine the source of the leaks and ensure all issues were fixed. He did not. He slathered my roof around the unit in roofing tar. It is an absolute mess. Since a permit had to be pulled for the install, a City of Visalia inspector came out to check the work, and indicated that a "water bucket test" needed to be completed before he would approve the work as the slathering of roofing tar not only looked messy, he indicated this was a temporary fix. This was mid-April. Since then, no one has contacted me. After much debate, I determined posting this review is appropriate. While I always felt that Shaw's in general was respectful, I was disappointed in the lack of accountability and the work that was completed after being told they would "fix it." I genuinely had so much respect for this company and I'm completely disheartened by my experience after investing nearly $15,000.

They over charge a whole unit install by about 10k. If you can get multiple quotes from other companies.

I was very disappointed with their AC Service. My complaint was that my AC unit blows out hot air,…read moremakes an unusual Boom noise, and noises of switching over. The guy went up hosed it off, tightened a few screws and said the freon was fine and he did not know what the problem was. I said well if the freon is fine than how come it blows out hot air and makes a loud boom noise when it does? He said " I don't know" I said well " I don't know" does not sound like a very professional reply, to which he just chuckled. I had to have my son lasso up the hose to him and than I noticed that another guy was sitting in the truck. So I asked " why is your partner just sitting in the truck and not helping out?" he replied, "Oh that's the owner" which totally blew me away! I did not understand why the owner was sitting in the truck the entire time, not once did he get out to address me, or to find out what i needed. Soon as the guy left, I returned my air to 78 as he left it very low (to check the freon, is what he said) Well low and behold HOT air continued to shoot out. I called him right back, this time talking to the owner himself, and told him that I was unsatisfied with the fact that my AC was still blowing out HOT air! He said that his assistant said that the Freon was at an adequate level. I persisted with saying that regardless of the freon level my AC was still blowing out HOT air. I explained to him how the unit makes an unusual noise like it is switching over with a boom and thats when the Hot air takes over. I further explained that it is unpredictable when it happens and sometimes when it does I have to shut if off for 5-10 minutes and turn it back on. Sometimes it makes cold air, sometimes not. I mentioned that he might want to get out of his truck this time and check it out himself. He said he would be over later to check on it. Well he did make it back over just when the AC decided to kick over and produce cold air! He held his hand up to the vent and said "Ma'am it feels cold to me" I had already told him that it just kicked over. He made me feel that I was crying wolf over the entire situation and I felt very uncomfortable in his presence. I did not feel that he did the best to his ability to seek out the problem, even after I explained that my AC was not performing the correct way. He is the AC service man, he should pretty much know what could possibly be wrong just by what I had described what my AC was doing. He basically said as he was walking out the door, well next time it get warm call me and I'll come back. Are you kidding? His entire attitude was a complete turn-off. I knew even if that air came back on HOT as he was getting in his truck I would NOT call him back again~ He made an easy $70.00 off of me, for nothing. I could have rinsed off my own AC and tightened the nuts and bolts and used that $70.00 towards feeding my kids! BTW he never once called me back at the end of the day to find out anything. I will never call this business again or refer his service to anyone. My advise is to beware.

These people are "OVER PRICED" for the "VERY POOR SERVICE" they provide…read more The owner did a horrible job. He basically grounded my A/C unit with a wire hanging out from the outside and looped back into the unit. Very unprofessional work. All this for $650 billed for repairing my A/C. Had to call a true professional from Fresno to correct the problem since my a/c unit failed again a week later. I did not call Silveira's back since they should have done it right the first time. I am GLAD I called someone else. They said that they were very surprised that a licensed technician (the owner nonetheless) would do such a bad job. ~THIS IS FROM A PERSON WHO TRULY EXPERIENCED SILVEIRA'S BAD SERVICE~
