Be prepared to wait until 2 before you get in. The receptionist is currently on the phone, telling a patient that they're always an hour behind. I waited 70 minutes past my appointment time, to see the doctor for 45 seconds. It's hard to find a doctor in Vancouver, but skip this place - there's a walk-in clinic on Lonsdale two blocks away with much, much better turn around time.

They either don't care, or are simply too incompetent to keep up with the requirements of care for their patients. I've been refused service, falsely charged $, disrespected and belittled. All this after hour long wait times to talk to a doctor for 5 minutes. I had booked an appointment to have an IUD inserted but the Pharmacy needed to know which kind, which the prescription didn't specify. The pharmacy and I called repeatedly with no answer and they didn't return calls. When I finally got through to them they said they wouldn't do the procedure because they hadn't sterilised their equipment (This appointment was booked more than a month in advance and there is only a small window to do it each month) After an incredibly stressful day of contacting them back and forth they decided they COULD in fact do it and had me in to the office. For her part Dr. Fatyeva (not my regular GP at the office) was kind and tried to reduce some of my concerns. Unfortunately she also placed it incorrectly. meaning I needed to go through the whole process again. I had to have a scan done to verify placement, which I never heard back about. The next time I heard from this office was to inform me that I owed them $45 for missing an appointment. One that I never booked and was not informed of. They had simply gotten my results and booked an appointment without ever consulting me. When I called to say as much they said I had to be aware of it because they would have told me (they didn't) and I could either come in to pay the bill or send them a cheque. OH and guess what. AGAIN they couldn't do it anyways because they didn't set up their office correctly. I've found a new Dr and within hours of receiving my test results from this ridiculous operation they've already called to talk about MULTIPLE things these idiots missed. They don't care about you and just want your money. STAY AWAY.

However it was not as I was not told that it was going to be a physical exam or that my husband could not attend prior to the appointment. The wait was over an hour for him to be told he could not participate in the appointment but could come at the end instead. This was a major inconvenience because we had both left work early in order to attend this appointment. While Dr.McLeod is very nice I was very uncomfortable with my appointment because she was rushing through everything and so a lot of my questions were not answered which made me very disappointed. I am sure a lot of people may be having a better experience and that is great, however I decided to cut ties before getting too far along in my pregnancy. Also the receptionists really should stop talking about patients while they are at the front because to me that was the first thing to make me feel uncomfortable.

The lobby area is nice, quiet and serene. There are snacks and filtered water for you. Things aren't perfect though.... In my experience some of the health care providers can have a poor bedside manner, or might not be the right fit or they might not be as smart as you are...but then again they do have the experience. And, imo it's not as "proactive" a health care service as they claim. Questions like, why would a physician want to work at Copeman conjurs up thoughts of social/status climbing and the shallow like. But, I think most docs become docs for the $$$ and status anyway. Finding a physician anywhere in North America who is actually interested in medicine is like winning the lottery. In the end, you're paying for convenience and extra time with your doc. That's good enough for me.

I am 49, healthy, active, and had no ongoing medical issues that required regular appointments. During the COVID period especially, patients were encouraged to use walk-in clinics and telehealth for non-urgent issues, which I did. Those visits should have been forwarded to my family doctor's office as part of my medical record. When I recently called to book mid-life preventative checkups and bloodwork, I was told I was no longer a patient. I had never been notified that I was at risk of being removed. I was surprised and frustrated, and in that moment I did mention that I might leave a negative review. That was said out of shock, but it doesn't change the underlying issue: being healthy and not needing frequent appointments resulted in losing my family doctor. I understand family doctors are in high demand, but it's disappointing to learn that maintaining good health and not using unnecessary appointments can be grounds for dismissal, especially when approaching an age where preventative care becomes more important. Continuity of care matters, and that was not supported here.
