I went to see Sharon for a blend of deep tissue and myofascial release to help with some lingering pain in my lower back and shoulders. There are a few things that make her stand out from other massage therapists I have seen. Setting - The massage room was clean, quiet, soothing, and immediately made me feel relaxed and comfortable. You can tell she's taken a lot of effort to create an ideal setting for clients. Treatment - While it's obvious Sharon would be great at a standard Swedish massage, she really specializes in therapeutic treatments for people who have injuries, chronic pain, or very active lifestyles. The myofascial release was a first for me, and she talked me through what she was doing and what to expect afterward. She was very knowledgeable about the issues I was having and even offered more insight than many physical therapists I have seen. A few days after treatment, I'm feeling less pain than I have in a very long time. Her suggestions for after care and self care have also been useful. Personality - Sharon is warm, welcoming, and it's clear she really loves what she does. She really took the time to listen to me and I didn't feel rushed at all. I've received massages from Sharon pretty regularly over the past eight months. I've received both deep tissue massage on a table, as well as a couple of Thai massages on a mat. Sharon is a skilled massage therapist for both types of massage. She asked a few questions before my massage started to understand what needed more attention (in all my visits, my neck / upper back / shoulders, and for a couple of visits sore legs and tight hip flexors from running). i came across Sharon recently and found her reasonably priced and easy to talk to. she seemed to understand as i described my ailments and didn't judge that i sounded more like an NFL linebacker than just a girl who jacked up her knees a long time ago. i whined about my chronic roar of pain with the occasional twinge that shoots lightening out of my eyeballs. she had a plan of action, told me where she was going to focus on and did work on this old goat. after my first session i felt good, like gooooood. still a little reserved though, no cartwheel on my way home knowing immediate relief is the easy part. eventually the roar came back, but days later than usual and before it got loud i saw her again. and again. to see progress is something i didn't think was ever gonna happen. long story longer, i'm the old goat you see doing cartwheels on her way home. sharon listens... and knows what she's doing. praise to her for mastering her craft. read more
