I had a gift card for this spa and was looking forward to my massage as I have been running in road…read moreraces in the recent months and my body was screaming to get rubbed down. Pura Vida has (from what I have heard) been around for some time, but just moved to this location in the last several months. Though it is outside of the center of town I personally like the drive...Fairview is a hidden gem in the WNC mountains. The Owner, Kelly Miller-Cooper, has many years of experience as evidence of all the certifications and certificates in the main waiting area. She is a professional massage therapist and made me feel at ease the moment I walked in. I HIGHLY recommend reservations as she is booked solid and it took several emails to coordinate a time that worked with both our schedules. There is a waiting room, small bathroom, and 3 massage rooms. I had my massage in the first room by the waiting room. It had all the bells and whistles of a big spa.....a heated massage table, lovely quiet music in the background...heated steamed towels along with a chair to place your clothes. As for the massage....Kelly was thorough and slowly moved along my body making sure to address areas she felt need a little more attention. I enjoyed my hour massage and after it was complete she helped me understand areas she thought needed some additional work...showing her thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology, along with many years studying the effects of various massage techniques, for me she was an expert in relieving my tension and pain. I'd highly recommend her!!!!

I took off work early and drove an hour and a half to the basement of a house in the middle of nowhere where they are now located. And they stood us up! The massage therapist was not there and we were told by a rude teenager that she wasn't coming. No explanation, no excuses, no consideration for our time; she just told us to call Groupon for a refund.

The day we went seemed to be short staffed, so things took longer than expected, but our experience overall was great. When they were ready for us, they guided us to the fitting rooms with showers. We were given shoes, robes, towels, and tote bags. There are no official lockers here, so you are welcome to take your tote with you into your private bath. The fitting room had everything you needed. When we were ready we had another long wait, but were invited to enjoy the sauna. They gave us refreshing mint iced washcloths for the sauna that I loved. They have a menu with a bunch of great add-ons, I decided to stick with the water, but my best friend got the coconut water. When our bath was ready, they showed us a map on how to get down to our soak. We walked down a beautiful hill path to our bath overlooking the forest. Even though we started late, they still gave us the full hour. The intercom system seems to be a bit older. There was an awkward moment where they tried to speak to us, but we couldn't hear them over the hot tub bubbles, when I went back to ask them what they said, they never replied. Besides that, we had a wonderful time. Be mindful that the drive up is a bit confusing, you'll want to do a mix of following their signs and your GPS. The experience is also a bit pricey for what it is, but I'm still glad I tried it with my best friend.

You can even stay overnight in their on site Japanese inspired lodges surrounded by quiet mountain forest. I experienced the tea side hot tubs outside and I didn't want to leave it was my favorite part of the experience along with the Savasana & Chea Massage Pods. I really feel liked I died and went to heaven in those chairs . If you are looking for a truly peaceful place that's great to visit even solo I say this one should be at the top of your list .

We couldn't have been happier with the great service we received here. The spa is set amid a beautiful canyon and provides great scenery, but the real 5-star experience is in the small building- now the Canyon Spa- that used to be the home of the community's caretaker. This is far from an extravagant spa facility and they do not have extensive amenities such as sauna/steam/jacuzzi, but the building is very clean, relaxing, and well appointed with luxurious and comfortable pleasantries and the service is top notch. Our massage treatments were great (my wife's was a maternity massage which she was very satisfied with) and we felt relaxed and not rushed at all. This may not have the pomp and circumstance of Old Edwards, but I haven't had many, if any, better actual massage treatments. Thanks!

We walked in and were welcomed and brought in for a nice relaxing experience. I got the prenatal message by Tessa, she has the hands of an angel - amazing massage! My mother in law didn't love hers as much as I did, but she enjoyed it overall (hers was a male masseuse), but our friend agreed her scrub was fantastic. If we are in the area again, I will be back for a massage! The only downside to this spa is it doesn't have your typical spa amenities, I wouldn't take off stars for it but it would be nice if it had a dipping pool, sauna room or something additional to set the mood. On property is the Canyon Kitchen, which was closed for an event but we really wanted to sit out back for an appetizer and enjoy the beautiful views from the property.
