When Barb retired, her company was apparently acquired by Howard's Pool World. Unfortunately, they have a strict policy of servicing a pool only below the water line. When some worrisome black mold appeared on the underside of the coping tiles around our pool's edge, they absolutely refused to remove or treat it. That's when and why we began searching for a new pool maintenance company. Fortunately, we found Hydra Pool Service, a small but growing company. I tried finding leaks in the heater and pumps, but nothing was significant enough to warrant that much of a leak. I looked up Sherlock via Yelp and noticed they had good reviews and were local. When I called, my reservation/appointment was within 1 week which was very reasonable since this wasn't a huge issue at the time. The technician came to my house and explained the pricing/labor. I verbally agreed and within a few minutes, he dove into my pool and went to work. He came out about 30 min later and explained he fixed the leak. Apparently the old owner had tried fixing the light fixture on the pool and water was leaking into the sides of it. He removed the old silicone around the light frame and put in a high grade water weld adhesive. My pool doesn't need frequent filling anymore and the total cost of the fix for time and troubleshooting was around $300, which seems very reasonable for what they are doing. I would definitely recommend!

Their staff is amazing and we sat down with them and went over what we wanted in a pool, such as type and size as well as options. We settled on a Roman style pool with a single stage water fall. We also added a mermaid mosaic which gives the pool a nice touch. We opted for the Travertine natural stone pavers that look fantastic. At 30' x 14' the pool is just the right size for the backyard and there's plenty of room to entertain a large party. I can't say enough about their work crews, they worked fast, efficient and were very courteous and respectful. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking to install a new pool. They took care of all permits, only one I had to get was the one from our HOA for the construction. Pool was completed in just over 30 days as they told us that we could expect the build to be about 35-45 days. Joe and Olivia were a pleasure to deal with and I recommend asking for them to anyone interested. We'll be starting the heater next week with the salt being added shortly after, just in time for the warm weather.

Throughout the project there very little communication and the project manager was responsive only after multiple calls. There was no communication or coordination between the project manager and the granite installation. There was also a 3 month delay of the hood, which never arrived and husband ordered one from Amazon, without the help of the project manager, so the size is off. I could continue with the frustrations but you get the idea. I'm giving this 2 stars instead of 1 star because the cabinet and equipment installation people were competent and very nice. It hurts my heart to give a business a poor recommendation however communication is key to a successful installation.
