I have been with this State Farm agency for a number of years now, since my previous State Farm…read moreagent retired and closed his agency. I have had only limited interactions with this team (they have my home and auto insurance), but they've been good across the board. I'm currently looking to get a new car, and had a bunch of insurance questions, so I called this agency and spoke with Adrianna G. My goodness what a breath of fresh air! She listened to my questions, probed where I was unclear or confused, and worked with me to ensure all my questions were answered. It turns out that there may have been some miscommunication between the office and me when I had an inquiry a couple of months ago. Adrianna, without throwing anyone under the proverbial bus, clarified the answer for me and confirmed I understood. Mistakes happen, and that's part of the human condition. But how mistakes are handled is what separates a good team member from a great one, and Adrianna exemplified what a great team member does: Not dwell on the mistake, quickly apologize for any confusion (and the confusion my have been mine...), and move on. I'm not aware of anyone who enjoys shopping around for insurance. Frankly I look forward to it as much as I look forward to seeing my dentist. But Adrianna sets a professional, eager, and easy tone that makes me look forward to working with her again. So, Mr. Ampiah-Addison, please give Adrianna a raise, a promotion, a few extra vacation weeks, and anything else I'm not thinking of. If I were into home entertaining, I'd invite her over for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years. And Adrianna, thank you again for your assistance!

Short-version: Jeff Lipsey is simply the best…read more Long-version: I typically do my personal income taxes myself and have never had to file business income taxes before. I'm also one of those horrible last-minute filers. So it was that I realized at 5pm on Friday, April 12th (before the April 15th tax deadline, mind you) that I needed to file a D-30 Unincorporated Business Franchise Tax Return for my the AirBnB I began in 2018. I frantically called various CPAs throughout the DMV to try to get some advice on my D-30 situation (at 5:30pm on a Friday). No luck. Then I found the Lipsey and Associates blog post on AirBnB and casual rental income, which was very helpful in itself. And then I sent a horribly long e-mail explaining my situation to Jeff Lipsey and asking for his advice. At 6pm on the Friday before Tax Day. Most people would have probably just laughed at my e-mail and then gone back to enjoying their weekend. But not Jeff. He responded to my e-mail within 12 hours, and then answered my follow-up questions in less than an hour!!! As a result, I was able to deduct more business expenses and ended up netting almost $2,000, as compared to the tax returns I prepared prior to receiving Jeff's advice. As you can see, Jeff is the best! Do yourself a favor and call or e-mail him.
