He is clearly a skilled and respected physician and knows his specialty. (He's also a medical doctor, not an osteopath, which I will not go to). My review has nothing to do with insurance or collection agencies, the subject the previous reviewer posted about: I'm discussing Dr Broker's expertise. Anyone who has medical insurance knows - or should know - that if testing is required, you the patient have the ultimate responsibility to make sure your insurance has approved it or you might be stuck with the bill. Both Dr Broker and the individual at the check out desk told me they would contact my insurance company to get pre-certification and would let me know when it was okayed so I could go ahead and book the MRI. They got the approval, called me, I called insurance to double check and then had my test.

Although he was told to wait in his car until his appointment time in order to avoid other people in the waiting room, he still had to sit in a waiting room with three other patients. Then, although the guidelines on the website clearly state that everyone in the office - staff and patients - are required to wear masks, the receptionists at the front desk were not wearing them. When he went in the back for allergy testing, the nurse sat in a small exam room with him for 20 minutes (presumably to make sure he didn't have a severe reaction to anything). She sat with her back to him (looking at her computer) the entire time, and when she turned around, he realized that she had taken her mask off. She put it back on when he asked her to, but by that point, the damage had been done. She had been sitting in a small enclosed room, less than 6 ft away from him, with no mask for 20 minutes, which is enough for covid transmission if she happens to be an asymptomatic/presymptomatic carrier. We are a high-risk household, and we are absolutely livid.

I chose Dr. Lee's practice because of favorable reviews. I'm an adopted Asian American woman (I will be 50 this year) and was having a difficult time connecting with any surgeon that a natural and less evasive approach was what I wanted. I also desired a local physician. Upon meeting Dr. Lee and his capable staff while sitting in his naturally lit treatment room, I was hopeful. I did so and mentioned what a previous oculoplastic surgeon recommended after surgery with him. I then received a very rude email stating that my eyes were shaped "extremely different" (duh, I know that, that's why I'm seeking help), and that the surgery wouldn't be helpful. No suggestions for an in person consultation. If I look so "extremely" uneven, wouldn't you at least want to try to help me? Photos are limited for evaluation. Also, I just mentioned what one doctor suggested years ago. Obviously I don't believe that what was mentioned then is still what I need. I just finished medical school and honestly, I'm still so peeved and hurt by this unprofessional encounter I felt the need to write. Having a congenital eye disorder results in a lot of insecurities, and having a sensitive bedside manner is really important when helping potential patients. I felt awful about myself after this encounter and stopped seeking help for some time...I just hope whoever wrote that email has learned to be more sensitive towards vulnerable patients. PS I lived 10 min from the office at the time I asked about a consultation.
