I went last year as a camper and it was not fun. my counselors were gone almost every day and the…read moreother counselors had to sub in and take care of us. one of the counselors (I had 2 in my cabin) was super uptight and rude towards all the girls in my cabin. for example she yelled at my friend for leaving her bunk light on on accident. she was very unsupportive and the counselors seemed to care more about hanging out with each other than taking care of us. I didn't feel comfortable and happy in my cabin and was actually waiting to go home at the end. it says on the website that you can see your friends from other cabins and sit with them at mealtime, but I was barely allowed to go talk to them real quick then come back to my table. you can see them if you somehow tell them to come to the same daily activity as you. but the worst part was one rainy day we were playing bingo inside and I guess my counselors got bored because they were telling me a bunch of different times that certain squares had been called, so that I would get a failed bingo. I stood up and said bingo and obviously it wasn't valid so I just got humiliated while they sat there giggling. it was unnecessary and cruel and I definitely don't recommend this camp to anyone.

BULLYING AND ASSAULT AT CAMP…read more 1 star for activities and food Edit- after a review by the YMCA director in response to my complaint and this review below, they found that "no paperwork existed for this incident" which is very strange. Since then we have connected with the family of the boy who stepped in to help my son and they confirmed this incident. I am shocked that paperwork disappeared but frankly, not surprised... Is this really who you'd trust your child to? And it is pretty expensive as far as camps go... My 10 year-old son attended this camp and, on the way home, told us about his week. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to hear that he was repeatedly bullied by his cabin mates but also his counselor, "Nebula", who seemed to have it out for him. She refused to sign his memento on the last day, told him he couldn't participate in the talent show, berated him at mealtimes, and found fault in everything he did. My kid isn't perfect, but he's friendly, smart, empathetic, and makes friends easily. To make matters worse , he was also physically assaulted by another camper, punched in the face, and bitten in the leg. Another camper intervened (we have confirmation of events from this camper and his family!) and also got punched (This has now been verified by 3 campers!). The kid who assaulted them both didn't get sent home and no one contacted us to let us know of this but eventually, the counselor did intervene, apparently, so there is a record of this at the camp. I'm so frustrated that this was his first camp experience and immediately contacted the camp director, who is addressing this, but I feel that others should be warned. My son says the camp activities were great, but the people were just awful. This is a shocking review from a super positive child, and I feel bad that he spent a week in this toxic environment. If you are thinking you might want to send your child to YMCA Camp Collins, I'd seriously reconsider.

The horses are amazing and well taken care of, and there are lessons, horses and options for every age, discipline, experience, and comfortability. Miss Pam is so incredibly kind and a wonderful instructor- my lesson day is my favorite day of the week, and the highlight of my week every time. The instructor is emotionally abusive to her students and is not in the physically shape needed to safely run a lesson. I have witnessed abuse from her first hand and second hand. She sends disrespectful messages to her clients including those that are children. It is not appropriate behavior for a business owner. The lessons are not safe because she teaches them from a wheel chair. She isn't able to handle her horses, so she relies on her other students. In the event of an accident she isn't able to assist the rider. I personally would want someone able to handle horses and help me when I fall off teaching me. On top of the owner not being professional the horses do not receive adequate care. She has been known to feed moldy hay causing horses to pass away. This is just one example of poor care. Horses do not receive vet care. This includes annual vet checks and regularly dental care. Many times horses that are ill or lame are found being used on her lessons. This is unacceptable and a poor example for students. She claims she is running a Christian facility, but as far as I know God would not care for his people or horses this way. It is a bummer that she claims to be someone she is not. I hope you take this into consideration before signing your child up for lessons and they have to experience the abuse first hand.

The bathrooms are always clean and once you figure out what is the best time for you to attend, you can get in an easy groove and attend on a regular basis without any hassle there's plenty of room to do whatever you wanna do here lots of space and lots of options. The pool is exceptional. The hot tub is great. The exercise areas are amazing and the indoor walking trail is really amazing in the winter if you want to stretch out and stay dry, we use it all year because my husband is blind and it's the safest place for him to walk. We really appreciate all the amenities here they are very handicap friendly and the staff is exceptional. We love coming here

It's about 90 bucks a day as far as I can recall but if your employer provides you with a Bright Horizon backup care benefits you can save a ton of money. Steve & Kates's offers a lot of activities for the kids. Kids arrive in the morning and get checked in by super nice staff who appear to remember most kids' names. Your child then gets to pick their preferred lunch. There's usually a daily special and pizza or a sandwich - which is available every day. The food (according to my daughter is so-so). Probably much better than any cafeteria lunch but also not the greatest. If your kid chooses pizza they only get one slice so if you have a pre-teen that eats as much as a grown man it may not be enough food. The good thing is that they do have unlimited sides available which include a salad, fruit and mashed potatoes. The activities are pretty great and your child will basically be able to do whatever they like best. Ranging from robotics to baking bread to making movies, etc. Kids even get to save whatever they have worked on during the day and you as the parent get to watch (or listen) to the content directly from your profile. One thing we really loved about this camp is that attendance is so flexible. No need to commit for an entire month of camp because you can literally pay as you go. Just sign up online, pay for a day and you just show up. Great camp!

Brought my five year old to this camp. It was the worst…read morepossible experience. My daughter fell down while playing badly. She had burn marks from the sidewalk in her face, permanent scars. She told us she was playing with a friend and fell and couldn't find anyone to help. The friend went around looking for a staff to help. When I reach out to speak with staff about more details about how did that happen. Staff was prohibited to speak with me and my husband. It's negligent. They have way too many kids and few staff not well trained to instruct young kids. I would never bring my kid here again.
