I am writing to convey our extreme dissatisfaction with The Goddard School, particularly following our daughter's initial year of enrollment. Despite significant investment and early promise, the quality of care and education deteriorated severely. We observed persistent operational failures, including consistently high student-to-teacher ratios and rapid staff turnover, transforming the environment from an enriching educational setting into what felt like an understaffed daycare. This led to a complete absence of individualized attention and consistent relationships crucial for early childhood development. Furthermore, the school's response to our daughter's needs was deeply inadequate. Instead of offering supportive classroom adjustments, we repeatedly encountered deflection and premature suggestions for external medical evaluations. Our pediatrician subsequently confirmed no developmental or behavioral issues beyond normal for her age, directly refuting the school's completely unwarranted suggestions. Most disturbingly, we hold serious concerns regarding potential bias. As a biracial child, our daughter's behaviors were disproportionately scrutinized and framed negatively compared to non-biracial peers exhibiting similar or more challenging behaviors, raising profound questions about fairness within the school. The emotional toll on our daughter has been devastating. She reported being repeatedly labeled "bad" by staff, including egregious comments like, "your classmates don't like you because you are bad." Such unprofessional and psychologically damaging statements constitute an appalling breach of trust, severely impacting her self-confidence and overall outlook on school. This experience has been profoundly disappointing and extremely detrimental to our daughter's early educational journey. We strongly caution other parents against enrolling their children at The Goddard School, especially for children beyond the earliest stages. In reply to your response: Your response entirely misses the fundamental issues we raised regarding our daughter's profound negative experience at your school. Despite your stated commitments, our child endured significant emotional harm from staff labeling her as "bad," which severely undermined her confidence. Beyond this, we observed consistent systemic failures: inadequate classroom support, high staff turnover, and an inappropriate focus on evaluations despite pediatric confirmation of age-appropriate behavior. Crucially, we noted a distressing disparity in the treatment of our biracial daughter compared to other children. Years ago I started working for The Goddard School. My son was just 18 mos. and we already had suitable child care for him while I worked. From the beginning I was welcomed into this family they have there. I was lucky and had the opportunity to work in every classroom from infants to the pre-k kiddos. Which means while I was there I worked with every single staff member. This school was my favorite place to work. How lucky was I to get to play and learn and snuggle and watch in amazement how the tiniest little people can learn and grow right before my eyes. On days when my own childcare needed assistance it was never an issue for them to get my son into a class so he can play while I worked. Later, I also had a daughter who came to work with me on occasion. I came back to work just 8 weeks after I delivered and all I can say is how comfortable I was with Miss Julie who has worked there since they opened to take care of my tiny precious newborn. I no longer work for The Goddard School but I left on a great note. I know if I ever wanted to come back they would take me in with open arms. I trust them with my children and that's not always easy to come by when it comes to kids. I recommend this school to anyone that wants their kids to get a great education while playing and also get compassionate teachers and staff (including the owners) who care about their kids. read more

My daughters have attended the Goddard school since 2010. Three years later, and about to go to kindergarten, it is going to be tough to leave these wonderful people that have become such an integral part of my girls' lives. The teachers here are professional, warm, and care deeply about providing a nurturing environment where children can learn and develop emotionally and intellectually. My girls have been supported and encouraged through their various milestones, and through their challenges too, by both the administration and teachers. The Goddard cirriculum offers a lot of variety, from the traditional ABCs to Yoga, Spanish, and art, with what seems to be the right mix of creative/free play, routine and scheduled activities. I have loved watching my girls grow, mature, and blossom and I have always felt confident in the comfort, the safety and well being of my children while here. Some additional highlights- wonderful friendships are developed, outside play time whenever possible, nutritious snacks, informative parent teacher conferences, and staff and administration that genuinely care about the children that attend their program. Thank you to the Goddard School for all you have done for us. We will miss you all but feel kindergarten ready and prepared for our new adventure!! read more

For a very short period of time, our family tried out a program provided elsewhere. We only came to appreciate The Goddard School even more. My son spent his first year at home prior to starting at The Goddard School in April. I was very nervous for him to be in daycare but any uneasiness I had is gone thanks to the awesome teachers and staff! I could not be happier with how the whole transition has gone. My son is really enjoying his teachers and friends. He loves all the activities that are scheduled throughout the day. I am very impressed with the detailed learning schedule that they start the kids on at such a young age. I can't say enough about the teachers and staff. They are AMAZING! They are all very kind and loving to the children. From the first day my son started they knew my son's name, my name and my husbands name and would always greet us during pickups and drop-offs. I spent a long time researching daycare/nanny options and am SO happy we went with the Goddard School. I did not hear of even one bad review. Everyone I talked to raved about the Goddard School. Our experience at The Goddard School has been extremely positive. Both of our children attended for their preschool and pre-k education (my son is currently enrolled). I completely support and believe in the philosophy that they incorporate where children learn through play. I feel the curriculum that they teach is well-researched and above what comparable preschools in the area are teaching. I feel that The Goddard School prepares children extremely well for entering into elementary school. Not only do they provide a strong curriculum, they teach children important social behavior amongst their peers and teachers which helps when entering into elementary school. The staff and teachers are extremely qualified and work really well with the children. I love the time flexibility in dropping off and picking up my kids. I feel we have received the best preschool education for our kids and it is completely worth the monthly tuition. I highly recommend The Goddard School. read more

Being possibly over protective as parents, my husband and I dreaded taking our sweet daughter to preschool. Goddard made it a comfortable wonderful experience. They welcomed my inquiries into her well being, my numerous visits before hand and even let us participate in some of their events to allow us to get comfortable with the idea. They spent a significant amount of time giving us a tour and explaining the process, the schedule and what to expect. My favorite thing about my daughter attending Goddard are the daily recaps they email us with a breakdown of every activity she did, what she learned and even what she ate. They often even have pictures of her doing the activity they describe in the email. Our two kids have been going to goddard almost two years now. I have nothing but respect and admiration for all of the teachers/director/owners. The communication is awesome, they are very helpful with any issues as well. I read the comment about the toddler room and while I don't have kids in the toddler room I see them daily and could not disagree more. I would love to work in that room! They all enjoy it, you can tell. There are many types of personalities at play in the classroom and they do a great job dealing with them. I know this because our two have many of those personalities lol! The difference academically and socially has been amazing and that alone is worth it. Our daughter has attended since she was 18 months old. Our first teacher sealed the deal with our Goddard experience. She was the best teacher, loving, respectful to the children and a joy. Every teacher since the beginning have been fabulous. Our daughter loves school, she has so much fun learning, socializing and just being "at school". I sincerely hope that the rest of her school experience is as good. Sadly this is our last year, we will miss all of you very much. Thanks for making our experience wonderful as a student and parent. My toddler has attended the Goddard School for the past 6 months and although she only attends part-time, I am amazed at how much she has learned and how much she has opened up socially. I love getting the daily reports of her classroom's activities, little pieces of her artwork, and her teacher always writes a little note about a specific thing my daughter enjoyed or a milestone she reached that day. She looks forward to going to "school" and she's always all smiles at drop-off and pick-up; which makes leaving her so much easier and gives me peace of mind knowing she loves it there and the staff all love her back. My child just started school here in April, & I couldn't be happier. In the short time he has been attending, I have seen great improvements in his cognitive, motor, and other developmental skills. We just recently moved to the area and attend The Goddard School and are so happy with our choice! We have been able to see the results of all the learning that happens throughout the day in the short time we have been here. Our children are thriving and love to go to school every morning. I'm a parent of two Goddard kids (one of them now in first grade, the other still currently enrolled), and I can honestly say putting them in the Goddard Program is one of the best decisions my wife and I could have ever made. Upon my daughter entering kindergarden, and again when she started first grade, we were both amazed with how prepared she was thanks to the curriculum at the Goddard School. We are so very pleased with our experience at the Goddard school since we started with them sept. of 2012. Our little one (3) has grown both in terms of learned skills but also in confidence. I was a bit skeptical at first about why we needed to go to Goddard versus the other options. 6+ months later, the reasons were obvious. Goddard School is an amazing educational and emotional environment for my son. I was referred through my sister who had her twin girls here and I couldn't be happier with the care my son receives. Teaching through play has allowed my son to learn at his pace and to enjoy school. I feel very blessed that he is in a safe and loving environment to enjoy the fun of learning, what a great foundation to begin his schooling. I am increasingly pleased with my decision to send my children to The Goddard School. My children come home each day with something new they learned at school. They have had fantastic teachers starting with the infant classroom all the way through Pre-Kindergarten. The teachers are nurturing and caring. The Goddard School is a wonderful place to educate your children. My 2 girls have gone here since they were 6 months old. Both of my children have been very prepared to enter kindergarten.
