Shape Fitness has new owners-Spike and Jennifer. The facility is a 24 hr facility and super clean and safe. There is so much new equipment at Shape Fitness. I am 45 years old and have never done personal training as I have always been intimidated. I have worked with Spike for the last several weeks and he has been great! He understands my current level and pushes me to the level I want to be. He corrects my posture so I do not injure myself doing it the wrong way. He and Jennifer are both encouraging and so pleasant. DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT waste your money with this want to be gym. My fiancé and I thought, wow a gym so close to us, with not just cardio equipment and not packed all the time, why wouldn't we? Well now we know why, the owners are so rude, no one is ever there to answer questions, you call multiple times and no response. The woman who sits at the desk on her phone and doesn't even give you the time of day to look at you when you're talking, is so off putting. When they mentioned they were moving we were a little bummed but willing to follow, we got a letter in the mail saying the membership fee would be reduced for the inconvenience. We did however decide to cancel our membership after all , we called FOUR TIMES with no answer. They finally returned our call weeks later and we agreed they we were cancelling, wouldn't you believe the full membership fee came out of our bank account following this phone call??? We didn't even bother trying to call, we did however call the bank and had them blocked. This place is a joke and I hope no one else is scammed of their money for a poorly ran, unclean "gym". read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I signed up for this gym June 22. I originally went in with the intention of having a gym membership that offered tanning as well. When speaking with the woman there, she informed me they did not offer tanning, which puzzled me because I thought I had for sure seen that on the sign above the entrance (it is indeed, on the sign, look at the picture posted here on Yelp). But, I didn't let that stop me because I was looking for a gym close to home that I couldn't have an excuse not to go. After that day, I tried to go to the gym using the key fob I was provided. It did not work. I called the number that is posted on the door in hopes someone would answer, but I got the voicemail. I left a message expecting someone to call me back the next day, but I never received that call. I tried going to the gym 4 times and every time my key didn't work and every time I called and left a message. It took a week for someone to call me back. At that point I asked for the membership to be cancelled. I didn't feel as though this was going to be a good business to deal with. The owner was apologetic stating they had changed management and my card had not been charged yet and he would be taking care of it himself so I would not be charged. I returned the key fob that night, as it was a Thursday and the only day someone is there is Tuesday and Thursday for a few hours in the evening. And I thought I was done with the whole ordeal. A few days later, my card was charged. So I called and called and then called some more. I left messages and every time I called it went straight to voicemail or the voice mail was full. So I went to the bank and filed a dispute so I could get my money back. There was no way I was paying $65 (activation fee and first month) for an hour worth of working out. And might I tell you, the gym is little and some of the equipment did not work. They have a spinning class, but 4 bikes I got on didn't work at all. The owner called a few days after I talked to the bank and again assured me that the charges would be reversed. It is now a month later and the gym still hasn't refunded my money, but what made me write this review, is the owner called me today, A MONTH later, to ask me if my key fob was working because he was just returning calls. I joined this gym in November 2014 and went through December 2014. The equipment was mostly broken and put together with duct tape. I was actually lucky enough to be there when there was an employee and I gave her my formal notice that I wanted to quit. Upon reviewing my bank statement, I noticed that they had never charged me until February 2015 and they continued to charge me through May of 2015. I called the number on my statement and a man answered and he was rude. He said he would call me back the next day. He did not. I went there and left a note to beg them to call me back with a brief history of my experience. Approximately 3 weeks went by and a lady called me and said she would credit back two months worth. It is now another 3 weeks and I still have not seen the credit. I certainly will be filing something with the Better Business Bureau. This place is a ripoff and the most unfriendly people I have ever encountered...when you can actually encounter them. read more
