It was close to shopping and the highway. The room we stayed was comfortable and quiet. We were provided with all the basics, nice towels, bottled water, and a very nice hot breakfast. We were able to use a lounging room that provided more space and use of a second TV, couch, mini fridge (good for storing leftovers from a restaurant), microwave, tea kettle, guide books, and maps of Calgary. Our hosts, Pat & Bruce, were very kind and polite, their home was spotless, and we enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast. Booking the reservation was fairly easy considering it was last minute. Next time we are in Calgary, we will stay here again.

Deanna, the owner of this B&B was a delight to deal with from the moment we first contacted her. My folks live out of the country, so they spoke with her and worked out the details and then arranged to have me go by the place and scope it out. We were planning on having 3 couples stay in the house, so we had a few criteria in mind - I wanted it to be cozy, comfortable and homey, with ample bathroom space and decent kitchen to cook our holiday bird in. We also wanted this to place to function as a meeting place for us to come and go from, for visiting and just general holiday cheer. The rooms are true to the website and come off every bit as cozy and full of character as they look there. The bedrooms are tastefully decorated and look like the perfect escape from holiday visiting (we all need that!). Really, they look like great spaces for curling up with a book and a warm cup of tea.The place is rustic and homey - just right for my families tastes! If you are looking for a chic, modern place to stay you won't find it here. But what you will find is a sweet character home with down home undertones. The kitchen is great too, and has a gas stove which I love. I must mention: the kitchen table is so cute! It's a craft piece with table legs made out of tree trunks - think blond, knotty wood - I don't really know how to describe it but it works so well in this house. The house has two bathrooms, one upstairs and one down, both with showers. The living room is on the smaller side, an doesn't have a ton of seating but it's cozy. And...there is a piano! They had the living room done up with a holiday tree and the exterior had Christmas lights up - so perfect for our family holiday! The ladies here really got me excited about my family settling in here, and I really felt comfortable as soon as I walked in. I think this is going to be the perfect place for my family to stay over the holidays, I know they will be cozy and relaxed. Located in the heart of Kensi, a hop and a skip from the Kensi pub, a plethora of lovely coffee haunts and resto's, this place is a gem.

This time was for 2 weeks with my family in for a weekend. It's a fine balance between giving you "alone time" privacy and interaction with "colorful" locals. They nail it. I adore them and their home. Don't expect typical. Expect delish breakfasts, cozy room, toasty bed, laid-back hosts, eclectic/intriguing guests, hearty laughter, creaky floors, hodge-podge furniture, and a backyard deck of wonders. Kensington (which is awesome!) is at your doorstep and downtown is a short trip (train or foot -- I walk, even in winter!). I've stayed at the Sheraton Eau Claire (once) and the Ramada (once). Never again. Because this place has heart -- MY heart.

The king sized bed and fluffy pillows were so comfortable, we didn't want to get up, but...breakfast was waiting! Breakfast was lovely - cinnamon silver dollar pancakes with fresh fruit, whipped cream, and real maple syrup. There was also a fresh pot of hot tea and glasses of orange juice. Delicious! The house is in a quieter part of Calgary - in Ramsay - and overlooks the stampede grounds and Saddle Dome. We were in town to see a concert at the BMO Centre on the stampede grounds and were able to walk there in under ten minutes. Micheline is a wonderful hostess, and makes everyone feel welcome. With rates better than any hotel in the city (and with an amazing breakfast to boot!) this is definitely a wonderful home away from home experience! I would definitely recommend the Calgary City View B&B to anyone.

Well, it was MORE than nice! We had such a wonderful stay. The B&B is all novel (as in books) themed - but not in a kitschy way, more a classy way. There is the Classics Room, Mystery Room, etc. with novels from that genre for your reading pleasure. The hosts were terrific! The thought, care and details taken in the rooms, food and living room area were outstanding. As an example, when we arrived Ali (the owner) had left a printed map and the daily events schedule for each day that we would be at Stampede in our room. There were fresh baked cookies every night, delicious homemade breakfast (with several options to choose from) and a cozy living room to relax in. We met other folks staying there, had great conversations and laughs! The location was near, not only Stampede, but lots of great restaurants and shops. Staying here was truly a highlight of our trip!

I stayed a private very clean room named "autumn" and the bed was toooooo comfortable. The owner offered to have home-made beer and cheese, those were excellent! Home made breakfast was also awesome. The place is located away from big street so it was so quiet around there. I felt like home and could relax well. I highly recommend to stay there if you come to Nanton.

My room was named "Spring", nice colors of the wall with the flowery decorations. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts (a couple with 3 boys) were amazing, warm, kind and very welcoming. Breakfast was fabulous. The wife makes everything from scratch. Homemade buns/muffins, eggs, yogurt, fruit, etc. The husband's heritage is German, so he makes his own beer and cheese, which were absolutely delicious! That was such a treat for me! The family travelled the world, very interesting people to talk to about different cultures. It was such a nice, peaceful and relaxing stay. Thank you!!!

I give this place my highest top rating. Located Kitty-Corner to the Water Valley Golf and Country Club, so great for golfers! The walk-out basement suite had everything we needed as 4 adults, including a great kitchenette including mini refrigerator, 2 induction hot plates, coffee maker, toaster, kettle, a large dining room table, large living room with large TV with cable, and Wifi. We were provided with delicious home-made cinnamon buns, muffins, and butter tarts as well as a large fruit bowl. As well for breakfast there was a variety of cereals and bread for toast, butter, honey, jam and other condiments. There are 2 bedrooms, each with Queen Size beds, as well as a single bed, and a double pull-out bed. There is a lovely large patio with two rocking chairs, two lounge chairs and a table and 4 chairs which we used for all our meals to eat "Al Fresco". We really enjoyed all the animals on the 5 acres, including the miniature horses, Chica and Butterup, as well as Buttercup's newly-born foal Maverick, the chickens and the bunnies, (we were so lucky that baby bunnies were born when we were there!) and also the 2 dogs, Winston and Elliott.
