The first major change was getting rid of two of the dedicated soccer pitches. The pinball field is no more and now looks like it is a multi-level obstacle course. The field that is right by the entrance, the carpet has been uplifted and now you have a dedicated floor/ball hockey rink. The largest soccer field at the back remains, but the surface is in a bit of disrepair causing rolled and sprained ankles to several of our players. But now they are renting out the walls for advertising bucks! Hopefully this added revenue will allow for a modified surface at some point in the future. The weight area has also had a face lift and they have added a batting cage. The basketball court remains the same. It is nice to see some improvements to this centre that are also helping to expand in its diversification of "sports" offered.

You can sign up for Rec and be put in Rec plus or even higher where it is NOT FUN and you are DEFINITELY out of your league. I have asked MANY times for refunds and they can't because of "policy". YET, if you don't show up to play your games you will just get charged MORE $ for defaults, I've never seen a league that wants more of your money every second they can. I've tried over and over to be nice to owners, managers, and people and to JUST put me WHERE I SIGNED UP. I WANT TO BE IN REC NOT ANYWHERE ELSE because I know that's where I should be. I don't give an f*** about the terrible analytics that will tell me different. I would never tell someone to sign up for this league. SAVE YOUR $.

It's actually very interesting to check out different school gyms, but the thing is most of the time they are too far. Like this season, we keep going to Evergreen and Shawnessy. Also most of the time the gyms have really low ceilings and the whole basketball thing is not removable. The teams there sometimes do not have the sportsmanship. During the seeding weeks they are like very new to volleyball, but after the seeding (3 weeks later) they become pro!

Just came here to see my boyfriend's son take ice skating lessons and was just wowed by this…read morefacility. Saw some speedskaters in training, a hockey game going on and skating lessons for kids....if this gives you any idea of the size of this place. From what I understand, it has the fastest ice in the world, hence making it the ideal place to break records- not that I was going to try... After the skating lesson, there was public skating allowed and I got to skate on the ice of the speedskaters.... not being the greatest figure skater there is, I had to be assisted for a while until I felt comfortable enough to go on my own. I am proud to say - no falls :) I actually had a great time and was able to hold my own. No wonder this was the location for olympic events.... Wish there was a facility like this in Texas....but then again, that is Canada for you....home of hockey....

The Adult Learn to Row course was the reason I was there, and really loved it. While a bit pricey, it offers an experience nearly unattainable in Calgary, and it's a great way to spend a few summer evenings. I suggest taking any opportunity you might have to get in one of the boats here. The instructors are knowledgeable and have an overwhelming passion for rowing.
