We ordered a dark chocolate hot chocolate, a dark chocolate hot chocolate espresso, and a white chocolate cookie. Now say that three times fast. Everything was wonderfully chocolate-y, though my friend mentioned she probably would have preferred the milk chocolate hot chocolate. All in all, a solid spot for a quick break during the day.

I was freaked out on a recent trip home to see my favourite chocolate shop closed up and the interior gutted. It wasn't dead though, just waiting to be resurrected. They've expanded into the unit next door, and now it's a far nicer place to sit and sip your hot chocolate or pick up some sugar-filled nibbles. The main change is an increase in seating, and the splitting of the store in chocolate and coffee sections.Hopefully this will mean service will get quicker, especially when the Christmas rush kicks in and those chocolates start jumping off the shelves. As for a recommendation, if you can handle the sugar, get a milk and white. If you want something a bit different, the dark praline is a real treat.

I couldn't believe my luck when I saw he had one available on his website, I confirmed it, and I received a confirmation email immediately. The very next morning, just to be on the safe side, I rang him at like 5 to 9 in the morning, just to see if he got my order and that he received dates and times and whatever. He said I'll ring you back and a few moments later, he rang me back to confirm the booking and said that he would drop the night before as he is so busy for weekends. I actually couldn't believe my luck. My marquee was sorted. I could actually start planning for my 5th and final baby's Christening. I was over the moon. After looking at his Facebook, I found he seemed very reputable. He did Weddings and school events and everything so I was actually delighted. (In all my 29 years of life, this was the worst judgement I have ever made, in my life.) Fast forward a couple of weeks I sent him an email just to make sure he was on for the 25th. A little reminder I suppose. To which, no response. I said I'd give it a few days to hear back as I could only imagine how busy he was with everything going on this month. I sent him a message just trying to confirm also. Yet again. No response. I said right he's clearly very busy. I rang a few times, NOTHING. An absolute disgrace if I ever ever came across it in my life. I rang a couple more times, NOTHING. I sent another message. NOTHING!!!!! I rang off Shane's phone, no answer. Text him again. Nothing. How he sleeps at night is beyond me. Leaving so many people down seems to be his mission in life. Took it upon myself to go onto Google reviews and my God....... I have never ever ever been so absolutely shocked in all my days as to the carry on of him and his Business. Barry is what they call him. Mr. FOOL events is what he should really be called. If anyone knows whats good for them AVOID AVOID AVOID. AVOID THAT COWARD LIKE CORONAVIRUS.

We booked a bouncy castle for our 6 years old birthday months in advance. We confirmed the castle on the Wednesday before the Saturday party and then on the Friday night he cancelled, and somehow suggested it was our fault as when he rang to confirm the castle on Thursday we didn't answer (we only confirmed the day previous) I got lucky and managed to find a local man who could provide a castle for us. When I spoke to him on the phone, he asked was this Mr Cool who let you down and when I responded yes, he informed that he has had this type of phone call at least 20 times after Mr Cool cancelled, including from a bride who was let down for her wedding. Obviously this guy likes to double book and then on the day he'll take the jobs that are more convenient to him and who cares about crying children, brides on their big day, well obliviously his waste of space certainly doesn't. Avoid at all costs.

We were a bunch of tired and starving international radio/audio makers and I wanted create a solid, comforting and satisfying main dish that held cross-cultural appeal. After an in-depth conversation with the proprietress, Deirdre, I bought my meat and several giant carrots and parsnips as well. I was happy to learn that all of the fresh foodstuff they carry are sourced from local farmers. I made something like a butterflied chicken and sausage tray bake with the meats layered upon a pile of chopped onions, carrots, parsnips, whole garlic, dried apples, liberally doused with olive oil and sprinkled with salt and pepper. My spice choices were a bit limited as I hadn't thought to bring any from Brooklyn, and was staying at the Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges (review to come) which while perfect, super comfortable, and packed with every single eco-certified modern convenience possible, didn't have a spice rack. Next time, I'll know what else to pack! Still, the product from Hennessy's was so fresh and gorgeous that I shouldn't have worried at all. The roast/tray bake earned top points from all who helped themselves to seconds and thirds. I also made a couple of frittatas with farm eggs given to me as a gift (!!! OMG !!!) local mushrooms, tinned Cerignola olives (from Malta!) and my housemate's handmade stale, crumbled, savory brown soda bread (WTF SO GOOD), with loads of chopped, crisped Irish bacon and teeny cubes of local seaweed cheddar; and a massive, four-heads-of-butter-leaf-lettuce-salad with a quick pickled onion and fried tomato, cider and olive oil dressing. Folks brought tins of pate (France); crunchy South East Asian rice cracker-based snacks (Vietnam and Malaysia); some tinned headcheese-in-aspic-with-leeks-and-celery (Wales); a cold prawn salad with apples and prosciutto (Australia); a savory green onion and stinky cheese custard (Brussels); and a couple of ice-cream-flake-cakes (purchased by an Italian at the local Amber gas station grocery store); plus candied persimmons (Iran) and dates (Saudi Arabia); and whiskey and maryjane (Los Angeles--LOLOLOLOL)--guys, it was interNATIONAL. We hung. We ate and drank a ton. We laughed our faces off. Maybe there was some dancing and a rap-off? And as the evening wore on and the wine and beer bottles piled up, I tossed the chicken carcasses into a pot with lots of cold water to make a quick and simple stock for congee in the morning with random leftovers for my cabin mates and those who crashed on our couches.. Can you say #favorite #HearSayFestival #attendee? :) I think you can!
