Ice cream is one of my many favorite types of desserts, and since County Kerry's cows are known for producing extra rich and creamy milk, I was really excited to get extremely creamed. The shop was very bright with a simple and natural design. They had some unique flavors like Honeycomb Caramel, Dingle Sea Salt, and Irish Brown Bread. The scoopers who helped me were very friendly and let me try as many flavors as I wanted. I finally decided on getting a small size of the Dingle Sea Salt and Kieran's Cookies in a cup. The ice cream was sweet and delicate, the Dingle Sea Salt had a very light salted vanilla flavor and Kieran's Cookies were like an Irish cookies n' creme. Because of all the hype on the creamiest milk being produced from around the county, I was getting ready for a creamsplosion up my yapper, but after my first lapping, I didn't think that that my scoops were as rich and creamy as other frozen novelties I've had the pleasure of savoring. But because their ice cream is said to be very natural, using only fresh ingredients from around Ireland, it might just be that my taste buds are already accustomed to over-processed artificial ingredients!

I tried two new unique flavors and ordered my safe choice - pistachio. I was a tad upset to see it was green but it was light green so that's a tad better. I loved that there were tiny chunks of pistachios mixed in. It wasn't overly sweet and the texture was grand. It didn't melt fast. I ordered my scoop in a cone but I don't think they are freshly made. Regardless, this is probably the best you can get in Cork. I had pistachio gelato in a restaurant and it sucked compared to this.

They had a great selection of ice cream though, I struggled to decide between Bubblegum or Oreo flavours but went for the Bubblegum in the end which was very tasty! They also had a great range of cones from the traditional 99 cone to waffle or chocolate cones. The first impression entering the shop is great: it's bright, funky and spotless. There are seats in the front (I liked especially the cosy seat in front of the mirror :-) ). The staff was very friendly and helpful to show me how it works. There is a choice of 3 cup sizes - but in the end you pay per weight anyway. So the cup size is only there to limit yourself to overindulge. The froyo self-serve machines are in the back and I had 10 flavours to choose from (even 2 vegan options). Then I had to choose from the 18 different toppings - not easy :-) ... the result looked fantastic and the taste was fabulous. Really liked it. I'd go for this delicious froyo anytime instead of ice cream. Overall I can only highly recommend this place. And I'll be surely a regular customer in the shop.

I had a cosmo which I feel was out the bottle, way too sweet for being freshly made, not that great but having had a 5 hour drive it went down nicely. Then onto the starters, Alex had the mussels and begin I the baked Brie. The Brie was lovely and perfectly complemented by the cranberry sauce - the cheese literally burst out of its crunchy shell once cut into which I loved. I also tried the mussels, the sauce was rich and tomato-y but the dish wasn't warm enough which made me a tad nervous. Huge portions though! Next to the mains, this is where if I could, I would give it a 3.5. The lam shank was topped with onions and a thin gravy and then cooked in pasty = lamb shank meets beef Wellington. It was great, the lamb fell off the bone and it was really well cooked and juicy meat. Served on a bed of creamy mash and fresh veg. The veg was slightly under cooked sadly but the rest of the dish, fantastic! I tried some of Alex's ham hock and that too was great. Really flavoursome and soft meat - if, however, your not a big fan of Dijon mustard I wouldn't recommend as it's literally covered in it!
