I've never had a cavity and a lot of the reviews for dentists seemed like they wanted to rush into all of this dental work. I was calling around to many offices getting so much attitude and lack of care for my pain - no one could allegedly see me for more than 3 months, even in an emergency. Frustrated, I finally found doctor freedman! His receptionists were the ONLY ones I spoke to over the phone who had an ounce of compassion and although they couldn't get me in asap, they put me on the emergency call list which happened to get me in the next day due to a cancellation. When I got there the process was seamless - quick check in and wait time and incredibly pleasant staff from the front desk to the X-ray tech to the doctor himself. Doctor freedman was incredibly honest, I came in thinking I needed an emergency root canal because of a cavity so he could have totally swindled me and recommended all of this work and I would have believed him. Instead, he said in a calm manner that everything is fine and he could refer me to an orthodontic surgery if I wanted but it wasn't necessary. The pain has mostly subsided but I wanted to see a professional just to be sure. Definitely recommend for an honest and experienced professional!

Dr…read more Philip wanted to replace an old filling with possibly a filling but more likely a crown due to "decay under the filling" without ever seeing an x-ray. I guess she has the superpower of x-ray vision. There was also talk about replacing old crowns and bridges, although not told directly to me. This is the worst dental experience I have ever had which has resulted in my loss of trust in this practice. Gives the appearance of doing unnecessary work just to make money.

Day of surgery, same thing waited 40 after my appointment time for the dr to finally come in. Post surgery they were supposed to send medicine to my pharmacy and never did. Two weeks later at my check up appt they ask about my medicine to which I replied that they hadn't sent it and said they would right away but again, never did. Very Disappointing Experience - Will Not Be Returning…read more This was my first visit to this office after switching dentists. I had to wait approximately one month for an appointment. The purpose of my visit was to have my tooth examined/scanned and to have a filling replaced. I had previously received fillings from my former dentist and had no issues with that treatment. Since I recently moved to Suffolk County, I decided to switch to this dentist. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The doctor came in and, within approximately two minutes, told me in a very rude and dismissive manner that she absolutely could not perform a filling on the tooth. She stated that the tooth was not a good candidate for a root canal and recommended having the tooth extracted. She also stated that even after the extraction, the adjacent tooth could potentially become loose and might also need to be extracted. When we explained that the tooth had previously been filled by my former dentist and that the filling had recently come out, the doctor responded, in a very loud and disrespectful tone, essentially saying, "Then go to that dentist. I'm not doing it." I understand that a dentist may determine that a filling or other treatment is not appropriate. However, the way this information was communicated was extremely unprofessional and unnecessarily rude. Patients should be treated with respect and spoken to in a calm and professional manner, even when the recommended treatment is extraction rather than a filling. Initially, we were also told that there were no treatment options and that there was nothing she could do. Only after we specifically requested medication for the infection and pain did she prescribe antibiotics and ibuprofen. I will not be returning to this office and will be looking for another dentist. I hope the doctor takes this feedback seriously and improves the way she communicates with patients in the future.
