What a horrible company frankly. They were unprofessional, unorganized, and unhelpful. After having at least 4 different conversations over the phone with 4 different people- who asked me the same questions over again, I was confirmed for an appointment with a loan officer. We showed up to the appointment and were told we would not be meeting with that officer but with another who also wasn't there. We were kept waiting in a conference room alone for over 30minutes only to have a very nervous and inexperienced assistant with us who couldn't answer any questions. Anyways we got all our questions easily answered and moved forward with a mortgage loan from our local credit union. Don't waste your time here! read more

I'm not sure words can adequately express my appreciation for all of the work put in by Shamrock Financial to get us into our first home, but I will try to convey our vast amount of gratitude. I have been trying to get a mortgage for 10 years. Yes, 10. Through a combination of astronomical student loans, abysmal credit score, credit card debt, and gutter-level salaries, I have been rejected more times than I can count. Three years ago I first met with Brian Whitten at Shamrock, and he outlined EXACTLY what I needed to pay off, and how much salary I needed to make in order to qualify. He also explained the best mortgage products for me. I was a woman on a mission, and checked in with Brian yearly to see if I was miraculously approved. This past December, we were pre-approved! After living in a carpeted basement apartment with no natural light, blocked windows, and mold growing in multiple places for the past four years, we were so excited to be able to get a home. Being first-time home buyers and newlyweds (me with a raging case of anxiety), we were not prepared for the incredible amount of documentation that we would need to provide. We certainly had extenuating circumstances, which led to multiple deposits and money transfers in our accounts, therefore leaving me on the edge of insanity multiple times. Throughout the entire process, Brian and Emily were incredible. They provided me up-to-date lists of documents needed and were there to answer any questions I had (even at 11pm the night before closing!) When it seemed that closing may be delayed, I was in a panic because we had to be out of our apartment by the 1st. I recall telling Brian, " I am scared that we're going to be homeless", and he assured me that he would not let that happen. He is a man of his word. We closed on time, and are now sitting in our first home, happy as can be. I cannot say enough about Brian, Emily, Greg, and the entire team at Shamrock. It is because of your hard work that I am finally, after 10 years, a home owner. "Thank you" will never be enough, because you have truly made my dream come true. I have referred and will continue to refer everyone I know to Shamrock. They handled a difficult situation with class, grace, and humor, and kept me laughing through a very stressful process. In Shamrock you will get a mortgage partner, not just a company. If you have a concern or question it will get answered. They pick up the phone, they let you know where things stand throughout the entire process. They don't have fancy widgets or applications on their website because they really seem to be about people and interacting directly with their customers. Their origination fees are reasonable and they do a great job at explaining any documentation needed and will work with you on the more difficult items for underwriting. If I could give less than one star I would. I am a realtor and have been in the real estate business for many years. The only two deals that have ever fallen apart have been with Shamrock Financial. Both times I was the listing agent and they obviously represented the buyer. The last one, came right down to the wire and they never even protected their buyer's deposit funds. I reminded them that the commitment was due and I needed either a commitment or a rejection, in which case, the buyer's deposit funds would have been refunded. Bottom line, I never received either one and in the end the seller was able to retain the majority of the buyer's deposit funds however my seller lost the house she was purchasing as she needed to close first on her condo. The communication was virtually non-existent. Their preapprovals are worthless as are their word. I would not recommend to anyone and as the listing agent when a buyer has a preapproval from them I also request that they get another preapproval. I do not want another one of my sellers to go through that again. There are many wonderful, honest lenders out there for buyers to choose from. STAY AWAY from SHAMROCK FINANCIAL!! read more

I wish I could give negative stars. My wife and I were trying to buy our first house, and our mortgage was supposed to be through Shamrock Financial. "Senior agent" Juan Cerda (who was in charge of our file) went on vacation in the middle of the sale and left his "assistant" Kayla Fogarty to deal with us. We were always honest and up front about our finances and income (this was a mortgage application after all) and we were told for weeks on end that everything was fine and moving along smoothly. Then, literally ONE WEEK before our closing, which had already been scheduled, Juan calls and says all of the sudden we are no longer approved for our mortgage (after getting a preapproval, changing bills to the new address, packing and telling our apartment complex we were moving out). He said it was because my wife told Kayla she worked 40 hours a week at one of her jobs, when in reality it was only 30. The truth of the matter, which we didn't find out till later, is that Kayla had put in the number of hours incorrectly even though my wife had been truthful and honest, including submitting multiple pay stubs which clearly showed her hours. I called Juan back, after getting this message, and was basically told "too bad, so sad" (they wouldn't even admit fault at first) So we ended up with no place to live while we searched frantically for a new house all because Shamrock Financial screwed up and screwed us over. They refused to repay us for inspection etc, that we had paid for out of our own pocket and continued to maintain their innocence. I loved the service that our real estate agent provided and would highly recommend him to anyone. however, I would tell anyone thinking of using Shamrock Financial that I would rather shove hot pokers under my fingernails, before I would even think about using Shamrock Financial ever again. So beware, they will take your money, but then when they screw up, they are the first ones to pass he buck. SO in closing STAY AWAY FROM SHAMROCK FINANCIAL!!! read more

To bad I have to give at lest one star. My husband and I first learned of this company, while he took a class about first time home buyers in Rhode Island. We went in and spoke to Bruce, and he was going to run a few "What if Scenarios" and would get back to us next week, (This was the week of Thanksgiving) never heard back from him. Called him back January 11 he thought we were going to call him back?? Then proceed to tell us that they have a new 'What if" system... and he would get back to me on Monday, Ok perfect. Never heard back from him. Left Bruce another message 1/24 that we would be in to pick up our paperwork and left him my phone number..again.... to call me back and verify it would be ready with the receptionist on Friday.. No answer, so on Friday 1/25 I called his office and cell phone and no answer. Called the main number and was put on hold for a few minutes, when they came back on the line they told me he would call me back in about 15 minutes. He texted me saying he would call me back in 20 minutes, OK PERFECT. 35 minutes later the receptionist calls and tells me my paperwork would be ready for pick-up. 2 months of time wasted.. If they didn't want our business or couldn't help us, just be professional and say that upfront. read more
