We wouldn't take our little dogs anywhere else unless it was an emergency and they weren't open. I am beyond disappointed with Walkertown Veterinary Hospital…read more I called with what I considered an emergency after my dog's nail had been completely torn off. He was bleeding everywhere, and I was only a few miles away. I explained the situation over the phone and the first thing I was asked was whether I was an existing client. Since I was in the area for business and my regular veterinarian is an hour and a half away, I told them no. The response was simply that they had no openings. Instead of helping an injured dog that was only minutes away, I was told to drive to Greensboro, over an hour away, while my dog continued bleeding. Thank you for nothing. If you advertise emergency care, it should be based on the urgency of the animal's condition, not whether someone has been there before. My dog was in pain, I was only a few miles away, and I was fully prepared to pay whatever it cost to get him treated. Instead, I was turned away because I wasn't already a client. What disappointed me the most was the complete lack of compassion from the person who answered the phone. There was no urgency, no empathy, and no willingness to help beyond sending me over an hour away. This experience left me with a terrible impression of the entire practice. When someone calls with a genuine emergency, they expect compassion and at least an attempt to help, not to be dismissed because they aren't already in your system. I will never recommend this veterinary office, and I'll be sharing my experience with anyone looking for emergency veterinary care in the area.

This review is long overdue and greatly earned by this wonderful company! Let me start by saying…read morethat I am an avid animal lover and my dogs are just as much family to us than humans. That being said, when one of our dogs is suffering, we do our best to do what it best for them. We all know that healthy pets start with nutrition. One of our 3 dogs was suffering from allergies. The first time we went into this store, we were overwhelmed and SO appreciative of the help we were given by an employee named Sohm. He took the time to listen to us about each of our pets and their specific issues. He recommended a certain type of dry food that would be helpful to all 3 of our dogs. He listed the ingredients and each of their benefits. Needless to say, my dogs allergies are completely gone and my dogs are thriving on their new food! Thank you to this amazing store and Sohm for all of his help! He was so educated and knowledgeable and we received more help from him about our dogs nutrition than any vet we've ever gone to! He spent a great deal of time with us and because of that, we are loyal customers. He remembers us each time we go in and is sure to say hi to our dogs by giving them treats! I also believe their prices are more than fair due to all of their products being high quality. (You really do get what you pay for!) We firmly believe that investing in high quality food for our pets saves us money in the long run by keeping our pets healthier! And this store has a rewards program with dog food that gives you a free bag after 10 bags purchased! This store also carries treats, toys, gifts, leashes, vitamins, etc. so there is no need for us to ever set foot in another commercialized pet store again! The Natural Dog has everything you need for your furry family members! And they are based out of Greensboro so your dollars spent will stay local. So grab your furry friend and head to this store to see all of the great things they have! Your furry friend(s) will thank you!

The first thing the young woman handed me was a chicken and liver (with "added phosphorus" food, limited ingredient and she said it was for kidneys. I looked. It didn't say that. Looked up on my phone if liver was appropriate for kidney failure. And of course it was NOT and was contraindicated. When I pointed it out, do you think I got an apology? Hell no. Nothing. Zero. Will go elsewhere to buy very expensive cat and dog food, minerals, toys and everything else.

I have always come to this particular facility in Kernerville called Agape (which is part of…read moreCentral Carolina Cremation Services) whenever I have had one of my pets pass away. It's a sad occasion when you have to say a final goodbye to a furry loved one and the staff here are very kind and understanding. This cremation facility takes in all small animals including pet snakes. They have a central facility in Charlotte where they can take in large animals such as horses. You can request a viewing where they bring out your pet on a presentation table for your final goodbyes before the cremation. I elected to watch the cremation itself along w the viewing. The ovens are huge and it takes some time beforehand to get them started and producing the correct temperature. They have an automatic procedure that once the animal is placed on the moving platform it opens the oven doors and the animal goes in and doors close behind. But you don't have to watch that, you can stay in the office until the process is complete. In the meantime you can pick out an urn or keepsake box out of the many choices. Once you choose, you decide what the epitaph will be and while you wait they are able to engrave or otherwise personalize your choice. I chose a stone jar. This facility is a one stop facility from guiding you through the process, picking an urn or wooden box, to cremation and presenting your loved one in a beautiful urn or whatever container you choose, with engraving at the end of the process so you are able to take home your pets remains the same day. You can expect to spend 1-2 hrs when it is all said and done. It's a loving send off for a special friend.

While I hate that I am writing this review I am very pleased with them. They had Betty back to me in a few days. I went with the basic plan and the box is absolutely beautiful. They have her name, birthday and day she died underneath and it came with a very pretty plaque with her name that I can place on the box if I wish. They really did handle everything and I am so grateful for that. My only complaint was that they had her for four days before they cremated her and it was written down on a card they gave us. I would rather not know and it seems like a long time to wait when on the phone the lady said they would be doing it shortly after I paid.

Then Susan stayed in our house during our time away, caring for Lucy as well as our cats, Millie & Charlie. She sent us pix regularly AND watered our plants! We bought two milkweed plants, one with butterfly eggs on it, the other without, in hopes of them having butterflies in their yard. They have a very nice picnic shelter with lots of picnic tables, so you can pack a lunch to enjoy at their facility. They have a few activities set up for the kids, like slides and a climbing walls, because they divide everybody up into groups to go into the butterfly house for the feedings. They even have a nice shady area with a mister to help you cool off. I bought our tickets well in advance, to make sure we would get them. They only offer a few weekends during the spring for families to visit, and limit ticket sales to prevent overcrowding. The rest of the time is field trips. I would not suggest just showing up and hoping to get in.
