I was immediately impressed by the worship team and slide shows that went along with the service. The visiting preacher was funny and light hearted and preached directly from scripture. I think if you were theologically moderate or a little conservative this is probably a good fit for you. However, they have great children's ministries and a Hispanic service and tons of college outreach so there's definitely great ministries for everyone. There is complementary coffee upon entering and age-appropriate areas for little kiddos and older kiddos. I haven't heard the main pastor preach yet, so I will let you know later. We plan on coming back at least once a month. Overall, mainly, I will return for the fabulous worship music and to worship with family.

I needed to get my newly adopted puppies vaccinated for leptospirosis quick because I live on a…read morerural creek property with much wildlife risk. The fastest option I could find was a vaccine clinic run through the Monroe County Humane Association, where they received a first leptospirosis shot from Jim Koch. I hustled them into the car and spent the entire day driving them from Terre Haute to make sure they were protected. However, no one told me a booster was required. Nothing was printed, nothing was on the receipt, and nothing was said verbally even though I presented the shelter vaccination records with at check in. I ASKED what other shots they needed. Nothing. As a result, my dogs were under-protected for months on a creek property where exposure risk is high, and now they have to be revaccinated to catch up. In other words, they were almost certainly exposed when protection mattered most and are now receiving additional doses afterward and at more expense. When I contacted the executive director of the Humane Association, he vaguely said the information had been "available," but could not explain where it had been provided or in what format. Instead of addressing the issue, the response shifted toward suggesting I was criticizing their mission. That misses the point entirely. If a clinic is going to administer vaccinations, owners should leave knowing exactly what boosters are required and when, especially when you present your records and then ask. Otherwise, you're not helping/protecting animals, rather you're creating avoidable exposure risk and animals also over vaccinated too.

Occasionally, there is a nugget of a bargain, but it's too crazy to pick through stuff to find what you might need. Sure, the weekend warrior house restorer will find bargains, but if you value your time at all, picking through the PILES OF STUFF just isn't worth it. Hey management: Wake up!! We appreciate the work you do. Now churn your inventory so we don't have to suffer through the layers upon layers to find the reasonably priced items we need. Please. Find the person who's up-pricing this stuff, take them outside, spank them soundly, and tell them about how the marketplace actually works. Or just shake your finger really hard at them, and say, "It's great to attempt to maximize profits, but what you're doing is really absurd and every shopper I listen to is gobsmacked by how high you price items." Do this now, before the place bulges so hard the walls fall apart.
