Dr. Lambert took great care in examining my injured knee, withdrawing fluid (62cc), ordering an MRI, analyzing those results, providing expert diagnosis and providing a treatment plan. Couldn't be happier with the medical care and service. My knee is healing well and I am back to running - short segments - and I believe I will return to full abilities (for a guy 71! haha) in the next month or so. For a little background, a previous doctor at a different practice ordered an X-ray, did a brief examination, told me it was useless to drain the fluid, gave me a cortisone shot and told me I'd be lucky if that helped for 6 months and that he'd see me in 6 months to talk knee replacement. My running friends said, "Go see Dr. Lambert." As noted above, Dr. Lambert went the extra mile and the MRI results showed there was nothing torn - not MCL, not ACL, not meniscus - thus no surgery was required, but that I did come dangerously close to doing so and should slowly rehab my knee according to his tried-and-true Walk To Run Program and I should regain full use, range of motion and ability within a month or two. Left knee was replaced in August with the right knee being replaced 3 months later. All surgeries were a complete success with minimal pain and quick recovery. The office staff, Nurses and Physician Assistants are all very nice. Jordan Young Institute is a very large practice with specialists for all Orthopedic issues. I was referred to Jordan-Young Institute by a friend who was convinced they changed her life. From the first phone call to make an appointment, to my second follow up appointment with Dr. Babbington, I am satisfied. My first appointment was scheduled as soon as possible, after sharing my backstory and what I was looking for. When I arrived for my appointment, the receptionists were very friendly, and told me to check in on the tablet. A super convenient, easy way to check in, pay your copay and get your insurance on file. Once I met with Dr. Babbington, I knew I was in good hands. His expertise and passion for what he does made me feel confident that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. He went over my prior imagining, talked possibilities, scheduled an injection and a follow up, and made a game plan. On my follow up appointment, Dr. Babbington and I had to talk about the surgical options that I have to think about. Knowing one of them is tough to get covered by insurance, he said he will do whatever he can do to try and can get it covered, so that I can have the best possible procedure and a better future ahead. This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. They also give you exercises that you can do at home. I went for the dry needling, but found out my insurance doesn't cover it, but you have the option to pay out of pocket. The room is wide open so it will be several other patients getting worked on at the same time. They do have some private rooms. You're given several exercises to build your strength back up in whatever area you have issues with, and they also incorporate some massage, and heating pads into your treatment. It's about an hour visit, and you're in and out. Wear something comfy. I have used them in the past as well and think its a nice office to use for your therapeutic needs. Check them out!!

I was told that I would receive expert advice from this orthopedist, however Dr. Graham was completely incompetent. He told me incorrect information about muscle insertions, didn't know proper muscle names, and he even told me I needed to cut running out of my life forever to keep the pain away. As a 25 year old and a soon-to-be Doctor of Physical Therapy, I know for an absolute fact that he is wrong and it is disheartening to see that there are doctors out here like this. Please consult you primary care doctor or physical therapist for another recommendation before coming here. Dr. Graham should be retired and I am taking steps to get his license revoked.

Instead, I chose to jump on Yelp and locate a nearby Orthopedic Office for help. I found Advanced Orthopedics who was just down the road from my Daughters Doctor and decided to schedule a visit there as she had an Appointment as well. I had called and spoken to Brittany who was very kind and gave me the first Appointment available which was 2 days away. I was told to be there early to do paperwork and do an X-Ray. I got there at 12:00 p.m. Brittany greeted me right away and handed me the paperwork. The paperwork was completed in 5 Minutes and then Lisa had taken me in right away to do my X-Ray. I was in the room by 12:10 p.m. Dr. Graham came in at 12:16 p.m. I was out of there by 12:37 p.m. with a Boot for my injured heel. They…read more& the new Brock Cancer Center are located on the southeast corner of Virginia Beach Boulevard & Kempsville Road. Both share a large parking garage. Entrance with a traffic light is located both on Virginia Beach Boulevard, which the buildings face, & Kempsville Road. The location is also easily accessible from I-264. The handicapped parking is extremely convenient & plentiful at the Leigh Orthopedic Surgery Center. The spaces face the entrance & continues around each side of the building. I've never had to park in the spaces that require a short walk. A covered circular drive thru is a convenient drop off point at the main entrance. No valet parking is available. I've had therapy at Sentara Hand Therapy & Sentara Therapy Center- Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. I've had MRI's at the Advanced Imaging Center. My Shoulder & Elbow Orthopedic Surgeon does outpatient surgery in the building. But my recent Elbow Surgery, although outpatient, was scheduled at the hospital itself. The practice requires anyone who has a Cardiologist to have surgery at the hospital, where emergency personnel are more easily accessible. My experience with both therapy & the MRIs has been excellent. The equipment & facility is state of the art in this excellent sparkling clean Medical Center. Technology is sophisticated, extending as far as doors being opened by a sensor activated by the wave of a palm. There are also hand sanitizer stations in plentiful supply in the building.
