Dr Nabet is awesome. I went in with knee pain came out without knee pain. But he was also concerned with other parts of my body and made sure I had an appointment with one of his partners. if you're a worker's comp patient do not see Dr Clifford. he is not concerned with your injury, your well being, or your recovery. his treatment is subpar. he cancelled multiple follow up appointments. he shows interest at the 1st appt, after surgery, good luck, it's back to battling for care. Dr. Clifford's words verbatim, "I'm not trying to be a dick, but suck it up" after sitting on a C5/C6 spinal cord compression/impingement for just about 3 years from a line of duty injury. He then refused to allow a second opinion. I've seen better ambulance chasers in court with better ethics! If you need spinal surgery, see a NEUROSURGEON, not an orthopedic surgeon who also operates on spines. read more

This is THE most unprofessional DRs office I have ever been to in my life. I am worker's comp and DR. Manke told me that I need to "move on with my life" after a horrible fall where I landed on my wrist and couldn't use it for months even when I stopped using a brace. He told me it was all in my head and that I should go somewhere else and get another DR if I didn't like that response. All this knowing how difficult it is to start the process over again. AND DO NOT GET ME STARTED ON THE STAFF! I have neverrrr experienced this level of rudeness and disrespect from office staff in my life!!! These women are so rude and literally roll their eyes when talking to you as if your presence is a disservice to them. Every time I had to call in I had someone B*** and moan about literally anything I asked and today I had to call because I was given details that my appt was at one location but got a text saying it was at the other. When I called in to check on it the woman was like duh it's at xxx location. I said I was given info that it was at this other location closer to me where i've been doing PT and asked if I could change my appt back to that location. She breathed off and just said no...silence... I was so annoyed with her tone at that point that I just hung up. She called back and was like "did you just hang up on me?" I said yes because you're rude. She hung up lol. Needless to say I will have a few words when I get down there but I am sure it will be to no avail because the doctor I am about to see sucks anyways. Took my grandmother here to see a specialist for the first time. This location is extremely far out for where we wanted to go, but this is where Dr. Clifford was going to be. She has seen 2 other specialists in this group. This was for a new issue. The front desk staff were not overfly friendly. They did their jobs, but that was about it. The office was promoting social distancing rules as there were chairs you weren't allowed to sit in, hand sanitizer was available, and there were stickers on the floor. Masks were also required. The visit with Dr. Clifford was quick. He came in, looked at the X-ray, & advised her of what was wrong. He then referred her to another specialist for care. There's no availability anytime soon to that specialist, but my grandmother is happy to know what is causing her pain. The nurses were nice and so was the X-ray tech. My grandmother left happy even though she was in pain & I can't wait to have her be seen with the other specialist at their office closer to my grandmother's home. read more

Recently began being seen by AOS, because the pain became more than I could tolerate. Was initially seen by a concerned and very professional PA who took X-rays of my spine, did the routine physical exam and then prescribed me common pain relief/anti-inflammatory/muscle relaxing drugs, and scheduled me for an appointment with a physician a month later. Met with the doctor a month later, he verified the earlier findings and ordered an MRI, which worked out fine. Results are due in about a week. The drugs gave a significant degree of relief, and after a couple of weeks I'd forgotten how bad the pain had actually been. When I ran out, I called in for refills of 2 of them (Meloxicam and Flexeril, to be precise) and completed the refill request, with the assurance that refills would be called in on the same day and I would be contacted by my pharmacy when they were ready for pick up. That was 5 days ago. Long story short, it was never called in, so yesterday I finally got ahold of their main operator, who told me that she would contact an affiliated Dr. to call in the refills. The pain is back in spades now, bear in mind. Got back home after a return trip of 5 hours in agony, called the on-call physician's contact number and was told that unless I was post-op, on-call doctors won't order refills. At the very best, it will have taken me a full week to get refills which Atlantic Orthopedic Specialists assured me would be called in on the same day. I will now have to take Monday morning off to DRIVE to their office since you can't get ahold of anyone on the phone. I was not surprised to see comments about rudeness from staff members, as I thought that it was probably just me misinterpreting "communication skills" on 2 occasions. This does not apply to the entire staff as in my brief time there, everyone aside from the two I noticed have been helpful and professional and friendly. Communication with the organization is non-existent as far as I can see, however. We have had self-driving cars for years, but you can't contact the people you need to talk to and there is no follow-up. Having serious doubts about continuing my engagement with them. read more

I was seen at Sentara Emergency Princess Anne Thursday 1/20/2022 after I fell and sustained a broken wrist, they took X-rays, reset it, applied a splint and referred me to Atlantic Orthopedic Specialist. My appt was not until Monday 1/24, the staff were adamant I make my $50 copay first and foremost. I was placed in a filthy dusty room stained with colors used for casts while waiting to be seen. Another X-ray was taken before I met Dr. Samuel Kline who I found to be rather arrogant. He stated I had "mashed up" my wrist pretty bad and needed "Open Reduction Internal Fixation" surgery to correct it, yet he was indecisive on which titanium plate he wanted to install indicating he would determine once he opened my wrist up! I was badgered about covid vaccines and testing prior to my surgery. He spent a mer 5 minutes before being rushed out to another patient. The attendant proceeded to remove the splint and replace with an ace bandage! I later discovered my insurance company was bill for a long arm cast application, supplies and an AOS tourniquet!!! Surgery was scheduled 1/27, I spoke for a brief minute with Dr. Kline as he hovered in the doorway. I had a frightening experience with anesthesia as well as severe swelling in my hand and wrist along with intense unbearable pain. I was released with a dressing and another ace bandage, no cast. I had several followup appointments each with $50 copays and 2-3 X-Ray images, never even saw Dr. Kline, I eventually demanded to see him and that my pain and swelling be addressed seriously! He indicated that when he goes back in again to remove the titanium plates that were screwed into my finger and arm, that he would manipulate the muscles and tendons for more mobility. I was in shock and dismay not understanding why I needed another surgery and anesthesia again. He told me I would not have wanted a cast on my arm but that the internal stabilizing bar held everything together so much better. I also confronted him about not having a cast on my wrist yet I was being billed for one. He quickly redirected me to his office assistant. After yet another round of covid testing, my second surgery 4/26 to remove the titanium plates left me in even more pain and discomfort. I was prescribed ibuprofen and tylenol. Once again, followup appointment's $50 copays, more X-Rays, no Dr. Kline just his assistants. I was advised to start therapy at AOS. I was working with Ruth at the Glen Mitchell location. Therapy was very painful and I was literally crying from the stress and pain all the while they kept saying I was improving? My most recent visit with Dr. Kline 8/10 really through me over the edge. I asked him bluntly why I still had very limited mobility in my wrist, unable to move it completely forward or backward and why I had extremely sharp intense electric shock pins and needles and numbness around the upper hand area where he cut into my muscles, nerves and tendons! I could tell he was agitated with me as he barked out that I had broken my wrist and would need to continue therapy. He also stated that I had developed Chronic Neuropathy Syndrome and prescribed me Gabapentin and Meloxicam. Once again I referenced the charges on my bill for a long arm cast, supplies and tourniquet. His voice got very loud and his demeanor abrupt as he told me I just needed to pay my bill. He told me to wait here and he never came back. His assistant Ben entered the room indicating I was ready to go as he proceeded to walk me up to the front counter for yet another follow up appt. This has been the worst nightmare I've ever experienced and it has truly sabotaged my faith in Doctors. I lost an exorbitant amount of income, have outlandish medical bills to pay and still have an incredible amount of sharp debilitating pain with very limited mobility in my wrist. Can't give these guys a decent score. Nurses were great, the two hour waits (correct me if I'm wrong, if I'm two hours late for an appointment they won't see me and they'll charge me) were atrocious. Same phrase every time I walked in for an appointment "he's really behind". Soooo... stop overbooking?? And on that note it takes 5 minutes to take a cast off... triage maybe? I've been seeing this group of Drs for several years. Dr Warren has done several procedures on my knees. The last procedure was left knee replacement last day of June 2022. It was a great experience. Pain was bad but I got thru it in a week. Therapy was great with their PHYSICAL THERAPISTS. My scar is very straight and I can hardly see it !! At 67 years old I can still where shorts. Love Dr Warren and now I'm seeing Dr Carofino for shoulder issues. He's great also. read more

Honestly, where do I even begin. Dr. Moore is probably one of the best doctors out there. I had surgery last summer on both of my feet for plantar fasciitis. The decision to get surgery was not made lightly however after over a year of Cortizone injections, physical therapy, special foot massages, Orthopedic shoes, and completely unable to work out, we decided that surgery would be best. Dr. Moore and his entire team went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and ready leading up to the day of surgery. His bedside manner is phenomenal and he makes it a point to establish relationships with his patients. The nurse that scheduled my procedure, Ceil, was amazing. She was always friendly and extremely helpful answering any questions I had; pre & post surgery. It's been one year officially since my surgery (05/01/20) and I am back to all things pain free. I am back to working out 4-5 times a week at Orange Theory and wearing my fun sandals & non-orthopedic shoes. I would recommend this practice to anyone in need of a first or second opinion. Wouldn't recommend this place for any kind of procedure. About six years ago my soon to be father in law went in to see Dr. George Payne about a partially torn meniscus in his right knee. Dr. Payne suggest that he come in to have part of it removed. Several years later after the surgery he was still in pain. We went and spoke with another orthopedic surgeon who was upset and said that there was unnecessary shaving that was done inside the knee. I don't know if it was done to help with the grow of cartilage but, he complained about pain in that same knee for several years after that. read more

Atlantic ortho is only interested in people that need surgery. I spent over 1200 on X-rays which you have to jump up on to get X-ray - hard when can't walk for them to tell me nothing was wrong. They then prescribed me some meds to deal with inflammation that helped but they would not refill the script bc I want going to them anymore bc no need for surgery. They don't care about your health or comfort of living , only looking for big surgeries read more

I was referred by Velocity Urgent Care & my first visit was mostly about xrays & 5 minutes with Dr. Payne, who seemed to be ok. Office & Nursing staff were always pleasant enough, but my 2nd visit with Dr Payne was quite an eye opener. I have never met such a rude Dr! Wanted to walk out on my swallowen knee in the middle of him treating me as if I was faking, but I wasn't raised to be as rude or treat people so poorly. Before I even reached the parking lot I was searching for a new Orthopedic Doctor & found Dr Jordan who discussed everything with me & made me feel at ease. He drained the fluid off my knee & gave me a cortisone shot without hurting me. Jordan & Young Orthopedic Specialists are not only polite, they dont talk down to you. In a way, I'm glad Dr Payne was so nasty. If he hadn't had such a rotten bedside manner, I wouldn't have found Dr Jordan. read more

Epitome of doctors that are driven by money first and patients' health second. Upon arrival they instructed me to take an x-ray even though I had already stated an x-ray was taken. After I was insistent on that fact, I spent a total of 15 minutes with Dr. Payne for which he used the medical code of 4 times that amount to incur the maximum charges. He then sent me on my way with ibuprofen and a cortisone shot dismissing any concern and moving on to the next patient. Check out the reviews on this practice. They attempt to price gouge and nickel and dime you for everything. But they are definitely making some money by billing insurance companies $500 for a 15 minute visit to give someone ibuprofen. read more

Absolutely the most rude staff. This company could use a lesson or two in customer service and patient empathy. Front desk and in house staff were lacking any concern, empathy, or knowledge regarding my care/treatment. The medical "professional" i saw was completely devoid of any knowledge of how to handle a broken extremity. Total waste of time and money. Staff publicly humiliated me, took money from elderly patients that they did not owe, but paid after staff argued otherwise. I was seen and given no care whatsoever and then upon leaving lookat my medical paperwork to see that the medical professional didn't even write down the correct side of my body with a broken bone, in spite of viewing it and multiple X-rays that show the opposite side. Immeadiately following i was forced to take my break to the ER. In 2 hours or less i left in a cast. Never again Atlantic Orthopedics! Save your time, money, and health and go elsewhere. read more

Please save your valuable time and do not use this practice. Appt times are never truly the times you are seen so always expect at least an hour after that. The staff is rude, the doctor is rude, and the billing is a nightmare. They sent me to collections without ever calling me. I thought we were square with the billing and then I get called by collections. Atlantic Orthopaedic had incorrectly entered my address in their computer. It's correct everywhere else, ie. SentaraMyChart. I called to correct it and they said they would. Didn't get fixed. I've never been sent to collections. My surgery was 8/31/23 and TODAY I get ANOTHER bill for some lab work??? Oh and the address was correct from them. I just don't understand Sentara or AOS. This is why I don't go to the doctor. Period. You should never have to go bankrupt to live. These corporations don't give a crap about you or me, it's all about the $$$$$$$$$$. read more

Two doctors, 4 test and 4 appointments later I can honestly say this is one of the worst "specialist" I have ever been to in the 20 years of treatment. Dr. Budorick was very rude as well as dismissive. Dr. Kline I went 2 appointments without even meeting him! My last appointment I sat in a room for almost an hour without seeing anyone! I don't know how this office stays in business. I was a patient of Dr. Sam Kline who repaired a bicep and examined my shoulders for arthritis. He documented my arthritis and told me at age 49 I had the shoulders of a 70 year old man. Later, when I was processing my VA claim, I asked his office to complete a DBQ (disability benefits questionnaire) to document the condition in a form acceptable to the VA. He refused. It's unfathomable to me he was willing to accept the fee for my surgery and diagnosis but is unwilling to perform the minor administration required to obtain disability benefits. I don't demand special treatment as a veteran; this is a routine request that EVERY other treating physician has performed without reservation. If I were an elderly person applying for social security/disability, would he be similarly unwilling to help? Part of being a physician is the administration corollary to the medical treatment. The arrogance is astounding. Find someone else to help you, especially if you're a veteran getting treatment for a service connected injury or condition. Don't get me wrong: I was very happy with my surgery and aftercare on the torn bicep. I was gobsmacked at the unwillingness to be part of the disability claim solution. read more

This group was not forthcoming about not accepting TriCare and then tried to stick me with a bill. They don't accept Tricare and their physical therapy quality is minimal at best. I've seen Dr. Strand and he's a great provider. He's helped immensely with my chronic back pain. The physical therapy staff is also amazing!

After reinjuring my ankle, I landed in Dr. Blake Moore's office. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in good hands. An MRI confirmed multiple tears to ligaments and tendons. Dr. Moore outlined the surgery required to restore normal function to the joint, but never applied any pressure. Once I decided to proceed, his secretary Ceil coordinated all of the logistics smoothly. The surgery went as well as possible and my outlook is good with my recovery well on track. Throughout, Dr. Moore was engaged, responsive, gracious, and confident. I consider myself incredibly fortunate to have connected with him. I can say without reservation that he is a world class surgeon and one of the best physicians I have ever worked with. read more

This morning I went to Atlantic Orthopaedic Specialists on Camelot and I my initial encounter with a woman named Deborah was less than pleasant. I left it be because some people have bad days but was upset I went out of my way to seek treatment because my mother spoke so highly of them. I called Thursday after leaving the ER to schedule and appointment with them and verified they took my insurance and all that jazz. Well this morning I was told they don't and was told the doctor could still see me but I will be paying an amount hey refused to even offer a ball park number on out of pocket to be seen because they don't take my insurance. Deborah was unpleasant and fussed at me how "She NEEDS my insurance card." I have never heard this before and have never had an issue with a doctor looking me up in the system with the info given. Well, flustered I left to seek care elsewhere because realistically with the way Deborah treated me I had no interest in giving the practice my money. Well upon getting to the ER I realize Deborah didn't return my ID. So, I ask Vaughn to please go get my ID for me. To which she's does because she loves me. She gets there and they claim they do not have my ID. Well, she goes Portia didn't get her ID back she she just left. To which they start looking "just incase" AND PULL MY ID OUT OF THE TRASH CAN!!!!! So, not only was I treated DISGUSTINGLY this morning but they literally didn't contact me after not returning my ID AND THREW IT IN THE TRASH. I WOULD ABSOLUTELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE AND IN DISGUSTED BY THIS BEHAVIOR. read more

My primary Doctor referred me here to Dr Kline for a crooked finger that catches as I bend it. Was not thrilled about coming because of reviews. When I arrived I was greeted immediately and was treated very nicely and efficiently. Was called in to an office within 10 minutes. Sam , Dr Klines nurse?/assistant was very pleasant and cheerful. He ordered me an x-ray, which was done within 5 minutes. I did then have to wait 45 minutes for Dr Kline to come in. He was very nice and did not act rushed. Way too busy. I waited 30 mins after my appt time, and then went up to inquire if I had got my appt wrong. They said the doctor was backed up, and there are two people still in front of me. Another 30-45 minutes.. I had taken valuable PTO time from work for this appt which I lost. It was like the Seinfeld Rental Car Episode all over again. On my initial visit paid my 50.00 copay. Had some fluid removed from my elbow and sent out to lab for analysis, the pa said to come back in three days to discuss the lab results they wanted another 50.00 copay to discuss the results. Ridiculous both anthem blue cross and Atlantic orthopedic. Oh and sign a waiver because you are seeing th PA not the doctor should give you a break on the price for the downgraded service. read more

Was referred here by the ER for a knee injury. Called to set an appointment and the first one was about a week out. A co-worker was also referred to the same place recently, She saw me limping, asked about my knee and we realized we had been referred to the same place. She told me her Dr had 3 cancels this afternoon and had called to see if she could come earlier. So i called in to see if I could get one of those open spots and not wait longer with a hurt knee. I was told I couldn't bc it wasn't my Dr. I never had a Dr. there I made an appt and nobody even told me the doc's name or sent the confirmation email I was promised. I explained that as well as that I had heard MRI's were taking 2 weeks so I wanted to get ball rolling and avoiding further injury. I didn't yell, but i was frustrated as my knee hurst really bad and the person on the phone acted like they couldn't care less. Then I am told I need to lower my voice. After that I went to see what the Google review looked like and realized you can't leave them a google review, which is a bad sign, that was confirmed when reading the other reviews on here, many of which mentioned the Doc i was supposed to see and none of them had nice things to say. I called back and asked for a manager, i was left on hold for 10 minutes, so I hung up and called back and they said they accidentally disconnected on me, which is odd since I was on hold the whole time. They said they were getting me the manager right away and then blind sent me into a voicemail that didn't even list the person's title, so it was the janitor for all i know. Needless to say, canceled my appointment and after this review, I am calling the ER back to let them know not to refer this place unless they just don't like their patients, in which case, send them here so they can have a consistent crap experience. read more

If you are at all about your loved ones, DO NOT TAKE THEM HERE! Staff is extremely rude. I called on the phone and was given incorrect information about receiving a copy of an x-ray. Was told to go the office where x-ray was taken, and they would be able to burn a copy in a few minutes. The woman at the desk (Stephanie, at the Chesapeake location) wouldn't let me finish a sentence before telling me that this was wrong. She cut across me repeatedly, and then she then made me wait in the car despite the fact that my husband is barely able to walk on his own! Caregivers are supposed to be able to wait with those for whom they are caring. We got the x-ray readily, despite her dire warnings that we would have to go to another location to pick up the disk. All of this confrontation could have been avoided had Stephanie known anything at all about how to talk to people. She clearly enjoys the little bit of power that she has over those people who are in pain and need help. The fact is, every staff person at this location needs customer-service training. After initially taking my husband to OrthoNow, the person behind the desk who was checking us out barked at me: "Doctor?" "Excuse me?" I replied, not understanding. "Doctor?" she repeated. I gave her the name of our PCP. Now she says: "Did they refer you to a doctor?" A complete sentence that made sense would have been appreciated from the beginning. When we called to schedule a follow-up appointment, we were referred to a surgeon, who was confused as to why my husband was seeing him. The doctor then referred my husband to ANOTHER specialist at a different location. We went to check out. The woman at the desk scheduled the new appointment and then answered the phone while I was waiting to ask a question about the next appointment. She looked up at us with the phone on her ear and said, "You're all done." We went to our PT and got a referral to another orthopedist, which is why we needed the x-ray, which takes us back to the beginning of this review. Do yourselves a favor: AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
