When I was diagnosed with ILD during a hospitalization in Brooklyn, she immediately changed my biologic infusion to one that works best with that type of RA induced condition. Recently I had a concern about whether the first medication I started taking in 2014 causing a new problem. She said the only way to know was to stop it, which was exactly what I wanted to hear. It might even no longer be needed because of the newer stronger drugs. Im very confident in her treatment plan and judgement. My friend sees Dr Cannon and thinks he is wonderful. I can't speak to the other doctors in the practice as I've had no interactions with them. The staff is wonderful, from the front desk to the nurses in the infusion room. They become like friends. Following a number of my neurological issues, she's always been completely accurate in her diagnoses. Even with a family history of one of my problems, she still did complete testing to make certain testing to rule out other problems that could cause the same symptoms. So it was with much disappointment, at my appointment yesterday, I learned that she is retiring March '27. Thorough as always she talked me through the choice of two area physicians who specialized in my primary issue. In addition she discussed again a procedure I have always refused. I did agree to go for a consultation to see if the procedure would benefit my main current issue, She diagnosed a problem I had been having and the medication used to treat it. She also ordered an MRI of my back since it had been four years since the last, Dr. Cao is such a wonderful Neurologist. It's a sad thing that not just me, but the entire medical community will lose her to retirement.

She consulted with me before giving me a shot to begin a rejuvenating process for my problem. One of the things she told me was that this shot was going to hurt because the injection was going to stimulate my inflammation system. I was totally accepting that no pain, no gain, however, I was not really prepared for what followed. The shot was at 11:00 am and by the time evening rolled around, my shoulder was in deep pain. When I laid down that evening, I could hardly bear the pain and had to sleep on my right side all night and not move my arm as much as possible. I awoke several times that first night. By the next morning, my shoulder was so sour I could hardly move; fortunately. When I got to my 9:00 am appointment with Physical Therapist Janet Hare, she assessed my shoulder movements. She decided to give me a brand new therapeutic treatment for a new type of electrical stimulus machine, which she administered for about 45 minutes. She told me that it would help reduce the pain and improve with the injection Lisa Barr had given me the following day. She said she would like to know how the treatment felt in the next hours and days. Janet used body tape to help support my shoulder and wished me a speedy recovery. After a few hours, my shoulder pain began to recede. By that evening, I could drive out and get food for dinner with minimal discomfort but still limited in my range of motion. This review is now June 4th at 11:30 am, almost 48 hours from the 11:00 shot on June 2nd. When I laid down for bed, I was able to experience a reduction of pain from a 9 down to a 2 on the pain scale. I was even able to lie on my left shoulder in bed, which I have not been able to do for weeks or months. (I did not stay there long, but my shoulder was way more stable.) Today I awoke with almost "0" pain at all, and just a small limited range of motion. I recommend anyone suffering from shoulder pain take advantage of the excellent care and treatment available at the Barr Center. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The staff is courteous and always friendly. The best condition of all is the incredible talent and knowledge of the two treatment modalities provided by Dr. Lisa Barr and Physical therapist Janet Hare. Together they have created a wellness center unparalleled in the field or rejuvenating healing. I highly recommend them to anyone who had body aches and pains. The location is beside Aldi's and across from Bank of America. Surface parking is close to the door. The lot was debris free on my first visit to their new office. The lobby was clean and a short walk to the elevator to take the second floor. The small waiting room is comfortable and does not feel like a traditional doctors office in a good way. I could tell Dr. Barr had her loving hands involved in decorating. Treats and reading material are on the table. The environment was relaxed and calm. The check-in process was immediate with no effort because they knew me and had my name down before I could utter a word. With the change all my paperwork had to be completed again which was the only thing not pleasant. Mailing out the forms in advance could be an option. The wait time to be called back for my appointment with NP Morgan was less than 10 minutes. It was the first time meeting her as she is newer to the practice after the Winter 2018 move. Not surprising that she was hand picked by Dr. Barr and had an incredible bed side manner. We hit it off immediately. I have been a patient of Dr. Barr for almost 10 years and would absolutely recommend her and feel blessed if your insurance accepts. Dr. Barr is what I would call an anomaly in today's world of medicine. What's different, she actually wants to know you, your family and deeply cares about your wellbeing and future. Today's visit felt more like visiting an old friend with their new space and fresh concept to care. If you have a need for a pain management physician I could not be more happy than to insist you call Barr Center.

This isn't something I ever would have considered earlier in my life--not for any particular reason, I just wouldn't have done it. However, for the past four months, I have been working with Dennis Bueso, MA, RD (Clinical/Sports Dietitian), and the experience has been nothing like I expected. Being very overweight, I anticipated someone taking charge of the conversation and lecturing me on what I 'better' start doing. I think TV gave me a twisted idea of how these things go. Thankfully, it hasn't been like that at all. Our conversations are excellent and open. Mr. Bueso is incredibly 'chill' and immediately sets you at ease; it feels like a normal, back-and-forth conversation between two people. He is great at following up and is just a genuinely easy person to talk to. Since starting, I've seen amazing results. For those who know what A1C is, mine had been double what it should be for over five years. In just four months, I've brought it down to exactly where it's supposed to be. I give myself credit for controlling my diet, but Dennis has been instrumental in helping me understand what to watch and work on. In addition to the blood work, I've lost over 30 pounds in that same timeframe. I definitely want to give props and thanks to Mr. Bueso. If your doctor has recommended a dietitian, just do it. I worried about how it would go, but those worries were unnecessary. It has been a great experience. After I signed myself out of the hospital I immediately reached out to her through their new portal & messages left at her Town Center office. There was no response, which was very odd. Normally she answers immediately. When my friend had an appointment with her she told her of my dilemma. That day I received a call setting up a Telehealth visit for yesterday. There were answers. The new portal sends all messages to a central person at TPMG rather than directly to the provider. The practice's personnel had been working to try to learn & adjust to the new system. She apologized profusely. I'm not sure the TPMG medical group's new system is as effective in reaching the provider as the last. It was calming & reassuring after the hospital experience to get answers & medication adjustments from Dr Joshi. She returned one medication doubled by the hospital to her original doseage. An explanation was given to me about why the hospital said to greatly increase my protein from foods. Even better she gave me a standing order for regular bloodwork so this type of emergency wouldn't happen again. I'm certainly happy to have been referred to Dr Joshi after all my other specialists had given up on solving this chronic problem. Just please no more being forced to go to the ER!!!!

It's usually caused by a kidney disorder but in my case the cause is vitamin D and or Calcium. Blood work is done every 3 months or so to monitor my PTH, Vitamin D and Calcium. Most of my visits with Dr. Joshi are Virtual because we just go over the current bloodwork and see where my numbers are and adjust meds accordingly. Dr. Joshi is very knowledgeable and takes time to answer any questions you have. The office staff and Nurses are all very nice. The few times I have been in the office, it was clean, bright and spacious
