Charlotte's real jersey icecream parlour…read more As soon as I heard about this place I thought as an icecream lover it would be rude not to visit when I was in the area so straight in the car and off we went into the beautiful West Yorkshire countryside near Dewsbury to grab some yummy icecream. I thought the setting was wonderful it was possible to see for miles around. I was pleasently surprised how much this place had to offer as if all that icecream and cakes wasn't enough for you there is also animals which includes donkeys, rabbits, goats, geese, and of course cows and a playground and mini golf. Yes there is mini golf with the most amazing views of West Yorkshire The icecream was simply delicious I have to admit it was difficult to decide from all the yummy flavours 24 in total lucky that it is possible to have scoops of different ones together in one tub. Also they sell large tubs to take away and store in your freezer. It is possible to eat inside the cafe or the is seating outside which is lovely on a nice day. We went on a saturday afternoon and it was busy this little spot seems very popular. Parking was free I suggest visiting the website for a map and details of how to find the place.

I am a big fan of ice cream and, consequently, have sampled a fair few flavours and makes in my…read moretime. I can honestly say, however, that this is the best ice cream I have ever had. Freshly made on site with milk and cream from the farm's cows, this ice cream is creamy without being sickly and comes in a huge range of flavours, from the usual vanillas and chocolates to tangerine. My favourite is hokey pokey, which I certainly recommend. It is a bit out of the way but definitely worth a visit. There's a car park and the cafe is accessible by wheelchair. The ice cream is available in large tubs to take home, and they also sell a wide range of homemade jams and preserves. They do bits of food too - toasted teacakes and fantastic bacon sandwiches. The staff are really friendly and it'd be a lovely place to go with the family. In terms of the farm, there isn't a great deal to see - a little walk and a couple of animals, but the cafe is the star attraction for me!

The kids loved all the different farm animals and wouldve happily stayed there all day but we became a bit hungry so we needed to get food. There is a small cafe there with a few outside tables too and they do the normal range of small cafe foods - sandwiches/buns, etc with a nice selection of home made icecreams which were gorgeous. They do a nice cream tea which was very filling and gorgeous. The place as a bit hard to find so make sure you have directions before setting off. The prices are a bit steep but well worth it for a nice afternoon out or even a stay overnight. The place is nice and tidy with the exception of farm smells obviously. The staff are very friendly and even invited us into their house to look at their new kittens., how trusting is that? A lovely day out.

With 150 different flavours of milkshake this is singularly the most exotic place to titillate your taste buds in Halifax. I ordered the Mint Aero Milkshake and was pleased to see the whole bar going into the blender. The milkshake was lovely, thick and creamy but still able to travel up a straw. As a whole bar went it, you also got mint aero throughout the whole shake. They have only just opened so are going to expand their offerings but its an excellent start. I really wish there had been something like this in Halifax when I was younger! To get five stars; add some bar stools by the window; I know there isn't much space, and they might want to keep people moving but it would be a nice place to sit and sip. Add some menus; I am sure many people will want to know what's on offer. I am sure they will arrive at some point. Service was ok, but in a new place you expect a few more smiles. Altogether though, very impressed! Will certainly go again.

I have asked many times and they are always very nice and apologetic but still advertise them and STILL dont stock. I have a serious food allergy, this is not a lifestyle choice. I was very excited to have such a range of delicious options to choose from. could i suggest Sainsburys have good dairy free icecream (which keeps) and soya milk (in small cartons) so i realy dont understand the problem. Very dissapoionted.
