This is a franchise from UAE and are known for their high quality drinks and desserts. Going inside it's a quiet chill spot to hang out, relax, enjoy a coffee and maybe some dessert. The staff is always friendly and helpful when deciding on their selection of hot and cold drinks and Fraps, and have unique packaging as well. This time around I went with the Red Velvet Latte. Nice presentation as well and a smooth taste. In the past I have had the shaghf tart which is also really good and endulgent.

Shaghf Cafe is a chain from Dearborn and I believe their first location in the US was in Troy, MI, which I thought was pretty cool. The interior of the space is really nice and has some cool art/murals as well (shoutout to JustByJuliana!). The menu is pretty expansive and has a lot of unique flavors which I really like. The lattes can definitely be on the sweeter side, but I do always enjoy the flavors. Shaghf is also a bit pricier than the average cafe, but I think it's worth checking out and trying some flavors that you won't find at other coffee shops!

I loved this place! It's a chain in Dubai that was brought to Michigan and I'm so happy they did! The vibes are very friendly and warm, from the ambiance to the staff. I tried the iced habibi latte, which has both pistachio and vanilla syrups, and it was so good! My sister had the Spanish latte which is a sweet treat with condensed milk and she loved it. Overall we really liked this spot and tried the new Rochester location. We will definitely be back soon! Highly recommend!

Salted Caramel Latte, but where's the salt? Didn't taste it either.

Ambiance. Clean, modern-chic. Lots of marble, gold, black, green, and velvet. Music was pop-non-musi-annoying (aka push button, overproduced crap) at a reasonable volume. Very comfy chair and banquette seating along wall with bistro tables. There were a few tables outside too. The diffuser oil on top of the trash receptacle was smart; smelled nice as you walk in the place. Service. Attentive, knowledgeable, nice on the eyes too. I did not get my Salted Caramel drink; the barista only thought I wanted one. Miscommunication. So, this is why order screens for guests to see their order would be helpful. Otherwise, they should have repeated my order to ensure everything is included. Staff were busy, not always looking at their phones. Food. ALL DELICIOUS. How fun to try something different, especially if this chain started in Dubai. I appreciated they warmed up my Cinnamon Balls, drizzled with chocolate. And the Shaghf Tart was excellent, made of dates, but tasted more caramel-like. Coffee drinks were excellent. Not too sweet, but in 10 oz servings which were perfect portion sizes. Overall, good. Would come back.

This is a new place that opened up in Sterling Heights. The inside decor is really nice and a great place to study or socialize. The staff are really nice and helped us navigate the menu. The corn flakes latte was interesting and good. We made the mistake of having it in the soda can, because the flakes got stuck and got really soggy afterwards. It would've been better to have it in a cup. The lotus frappe was really good if you love sweet! The flavor is really good. The charcoal latte was a bit of a novelty. I was expecting something a little different but the charcoal didn't add much flavor or anything just a unique coloring of the latte. It looks like there's Oreos in it. Overall, a great place and location. The drinks are a bit on the pricey end.

Very cute Middle Eastern cafe! The interior decor is beautiful and modern. I tried the habibi latte, which was tasty and quite sweet. They serve cold drinks in plastic soda cans which was fun. The drinks are pretty expensive for how small they are.

A friend took me to Shaghf cafe in the Sterling Heights location and the coffee is QUALITY. You can tell that this is a place that specializes in coffee because of the machines they use, and the care they put into each drink. I loved the coffee so much that I went to the other location in Canton the next day. Service was excellent, we had lots of questions about the different drinks and the barista was so patient with us. Sterling Heights gets extra points for using the cans and pouches which added a nice touch to the drinks! The ambiance was 10/10, both the canton and Sterling Heights locations were unique and gorgeous and I would come back again and again!!

Date tart and kinder bites (very sweet)

This was the most beautiful coffee shop I have been in! I enjoyed the Hot Spanish latte and regular latte and the cups/saucers that they were serve in were stunning. The service was also wonderful and they were so nice. The only thing is the popular drinks (like the pistachio frap) and desserts were a little too sweet. The date tart was excellent and could have done even without the extra drizzle of caramel sauce on top! There is also wifi so you can come work here but it is lovely for a little friend catch up.

We checked out this newly opened location of Shaghf Cafe on our way to the airport. Unfortunately we aren't from the area so we may or may not be back, however if I did live nearby I would definitely visit often! The young man helping us was so nice.. he patiently explained the ingredients in different drinks, and also gave our little daughter a chocolate (she was fussy because we got coffee and she can't... can you blame her?! Lol) There were so many types of drinks to choose from and they all sounded yummy! The best part is they come in the cutest drink ware.. with a tab top opening similar to a can of soda... My husband and I both opted for the same drink, most fittingly, the habibi latte... because who can say no to habibi?! The habibi latte consisted of vanilla and hazelnut flavors. It was mild, way too easy to drink, and was the perfect pick me up to start our travels home. The desserts looked so yummy but we had just picked up a tray of baklawa that I already set my mind to devour, otherwise the brownie was yelling my name The outside of the cafe is simple and clean... I wish they did use a white stroke around their sign instead of black because the building is brown and it doesn't stand out well... the inside is super smooth... with colors of emerald greens and gold, it had a fun yet efficient vibe. The layout is a streamlined rectangle making your visit and ordering convenient and easy. I especially loved the monkeys on the wall The young man who helped us mentioned they might open a SD location soon so we will definitely support if we see it pop up, or next time we're in michigan. Cheers! *will update this with a photo of our drinks once I get it off my husbands phone

    Pistachio latte and lotus frap

Got the pistachio latte (after trying multiple times as they run out). It was pretty good but it didn't have much of coffee flavour, maybe that's intentional. Also got a lotus frappe which was delicious, would def recommend. It also comes in a cool container. The staff is nice, patient and polite. It is slightly overpriced. My favourite part is how the place looks on the inside, I am not into gold labelling but it's not so much in a person's face. Overall thumbs up!

Very cute spot with fast and friendly service! The coffee was great and served in a neat little cup. The dessert was tasty, as well!

They just recently opened up, so I had to go try them. I was super excited when I found out because I had tried their original locations overseas all over the Middle East. I absolutely loved their drinks and sweets there so I had high expectations. The customer service was really good. Kind workers all around. I got their Spanish Latte and their cinnamon ball dessert. The iced Spanish Latte was 4/5 because although it tasted great it didn't compare to their overseas coffee. The cinnamon ball tasted the same , very delicious like I remember - but they served it to me cold as opposed to warm how I usually have it. They were out of pistachio frappe which was odd. Note that they are a bit pricey for their sizes but it is an international brand (something to consider). I guess, all these are just a few minor observations compared to the larger good experience. Overall, very good can't wait to come back when in the area.

Great pistachio Frappuccino! I can't stand extracts and this definitely didn't have anything artificially tasting. Cute coffee spot!

Love the lemonade breeze. Not a coffee drinker, so it's great to have other options. Great staff. Nice seating.

Ripoff!!! Paid full price for small sample size sippy cup of coffee. Even cold refresher drink was same size. Not worth the hype.

The Ottoman Empire Revived: A Remarkable Culinary Experience at Galata Turkish Cuisine & Café…read more For quite some time, I had been driving past Galata Turkish Cuisine & Café, curious about what awaited inside. Having experienced what I considered the finest Turkish kebab in Atlanta, Georgia, I admittedly arrived with high expectations. I left realizing those expectations had not only been met--they had been exceeded. My meal began with a choice of either a soft drink or traditional Turkish tea included with the combination platter. Opting for the tea turned out to be one of the best decisions of the afternoon. Delicate, aromatic, and beautifully balanced, it carried subtle floral notes of lavender that elevated it from a simple beverage to an experience in itself. Every sip was elegant and memorable. For my entrée, I selected the "3 in 1" combination, featuring chicken kebab, steak kebab, and a ground meat kebab. The presentation was exceptional and reflected the care that clearly goes into every dish. Accompanying the kebabs were a beautifully grilled tomato, a serving of what appeared to be seasoned barley, a grilled jalapeño pepper, and a vibrant red onion salad dressed with olive oil, vinegar, and what I believe was sumac, all accented with fresh mint. Each protein was executed flawlessly. The chicken was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned, demonstrating a mastery of both cooking technique and spice balance. The ground meat kebab, reminiscent of an exceptional döner preparation, was rich, succulent, and bursting with complex flavors that unfolded beautifully on the palate. The true standout, however, was the steak kebab. If it wasn't filet mignon, it certainly rivaled it in tenderness. Expertly charred on the outside while maintaining a medium-rare interior with a delicate ruby-red center, it delivered everything one could hope for in a premium cut of beef. Each bite was remarkably tender, practically melting in the mouth while offering deep, smoky flavor from the grill. What impressed me most was how every component on the plate contributed to a cohesive dining experience. Nothing felt like an afterthought. From the tea to the garnishes, every detail reflected authenticity, craftsmanship, and pride. I do not offer this praise lightly: this was, without question, the finest meal I have enjoyed in Michigan in at least the last two years. During my visit, I jokingly told the owner that whenever asked what my last meal would be, my answer had always been Eggs Benedict--my longtime favorite dish. After dining at Galata, however, I would have to seriously reconsider that answer. The meal was that good. If you appreciate authentic cuisine, expertly prepared meats, and a dining experience that transports you far beyond your surroundings, Galata Turkish Cuisine & Café deserves a place at the top of your list. This is not merely a restaurant--it is a celebration of Turkish culinary tradition. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

This Turkish restaurant is truly a wonderful place. They offer an impressive variety of both…read moredesserts and dinner options, and the quality is outstanding. I highly recommend their chicken and beef kebabs -- both were incredibly tender, perfectly seasoned, and full of rich, authentic flavor. The texture and taste were spot‑on. I also treated myself to the famous Turkish dessert katmer served with Maraş ice cream (made from goat milk), and it was absolutely delicious. It's rare to find a place that can deliver such high‑quality, traditional Turkish flavors with this level of authenticity. The atmosphere is warm, friendly, and beautifully decorated, making it a great spot for anyone who values both excellent food and a welcoming dining experience. I definitely plan to return with my family. It's a hidden gem, and in my experience -- after trying restaurants across Germany, France, and England -- this place truly meets international quality standards. Definitely a must‑try for anyone who loves great food and genuine Turkish cuisine.
