This is an iconic business of Huntingdon. Very nice selection of meat and related items at a…read moresurprisingly reasonable price. This is the go to place for locally sourced meat products. Family owned and operated for over 70 years, the friendly and helpful staff can't be beat. The interior is a bit small and cramped. The building is mostly concrete, hence not the nicest looking. The only issue I've ever really had was the smell, which I assume is from the cleaning process. It's not exactly bad, but noticeable. I highly recommend checking out this local business. It may be small and out of the way, that's part of the charm of Huntingdon.

Everything is reasonably priced. Their selection is amazing but if I am specifically looking for a particular item I call ahead of time so I can be sure they have it or give them time to get their hands on it. The meat quality is on a level by itself. So good! It's awesome to find a place that is committed to the health and well-being of the animals they harvest and serve their community. Legitimately some of the best beef I've ever had the privilege of grilling and smoking. I haven't had their pork but my dad said it's also top notch. Come taste the difference local pride makes.

The sausage gravy was delicious and full of sausage. The omelet was also very good with a grilled biscuit. The scrapple was good and people around us said to try with syrup or ketchup but we had plain. It was a bit greasy but had a sausage flavor. There's plenty of seating and they bring the food to your table after you order at the counter. We shopped in the market after breakfast for some Lebanon bologna, sourdough bread, fudge and pumpkin whoopie pies to take to family. We would definitely return when in the area again.

While in town, we wandered in wishing we had already grabbed some baked goods earlier in the day. And with a mission to acquire some meat for the grill later in the day. Immediately we were met with a variety of whoopie pies (we got a traditional one and cookie one, both delicious), and most of all the BEST cinnamon roll we have ever feasted on. Not only was it tremendous but it was perfectly gooey, and the buttercream (or at least that's how it tasted) frosting in lieu of traditional icing blew it out of the water. We also grabbed some chicken bacon burgers which we grilled up and really enjoyed. Just wished the patties were initially bigger. We ended up putting 2 and 2 (out of the 4) together to make burgers which would actually survive the grill. In general the selection is everything you'd imagine in Amish country combined into one little place. Prices were excellent, quality was great. Definitely stop in!

For example, I purchase Canadian bacon before moved last July at $6.99/#. Maple syrup would be a good item as well and their homemade chicken salad, ham salad, macaroni and potato salads are awesome. They also make dips and one of my favorites is the roasted red pepper dip and the other is a cinnamon walnut raisin cream cheese spread for toast. Don't forget the spice section, and if you need kitchen utensils, large, cast-iron, skillets, and other kitchen needs buy them at Peights, If take a trip to Belleville, make sure that you stop at the Amish Farms and load up on vegetables such as big green, yellow, and red peppers three for a dollar fresh corn out of the field $4.00 a dozen. Prices may be a little higher this summer, but nothing close to what you paying the South Hill suburbs to Pittsburgh. To get a real good sense of how beautiful big valley is take route 22E to I-99 in Altoona towards State College andget off at the Tyrone exit on 453S to route 22E to Water Street.
