This complex is mostly peaceful unless you live near some college kids or people who like to slam their doors. There are security screens on all the apt doors, which is nice. It gave me a level of feeling more secure in my apt while we lived here. The walls seem to be a little thin. At times we could hear our neighbors, so I'm sure they heard us too. Walking the property everything looks pretty nice because the complex is all about their aesthetics of the plants and flowers. Their outside landscapers kind of suck and don't always clean up their mess. Unless you are constantly outside or staring out your window then it's like whatever.
This place comes off like they're pet friendly, but in reality it's not so much as they restrict you on where you can walk your dog and how you can walk your dog. When we first moved there, they stated to us that we can walk our dog anywhere as long as we picked up our poop. Then they sent out several nasty emails telling everybody in length that they everyone can only walk their dog outside of the property, in the hot parking lot, and in the dog park, which is all dirt. Only half the people pick up their dog poo in the gross dirt dog park, which is very small. After it rains it's like a little cesspool over there, so nasty! The complex went as far as to put signs in 2 areas where the grass is saying, "No Dog Pee/ Poop Zone." After the complex sent the stupid emails, some of us dog owners got together and we were talking. We were saying it was like a kick in the nuts with us paying to live there and we can't even walk our dogs in the grass. Our rent pays for the landscaping just like everybody else. Their restrictions on walking our dog became one of the big reasons we moved out. Now onto other things....
The complex has a wannabe Amazon hub locker, which is in the locked laundry room. We could never get our Amazon or anyone to deliver to it, so that was a waste. It was nice that the complex is a gated complex, but only at night. It's located down a long driveway off the street, so you don't hear so much street traffic. It is across the street from the St. Joseph's Hospital, so you will hear the Air Vac Helicopters on a regular basis coming and going all hrs. The maintenance there is pretty awesome and they always tried to fix all of our stuff pretty quickly. Donny the maintenance supervisor always found a way to get our stuff fixed fast! Leo, their groundskeeper, is such a hard worker and you could always see him out there in the heat trimming all the plants. This apartment complex has 2 laundry rooms, which are locked with a code to get in. Each laundry room has 1 front double loader washer. If you wanna covered parking space you will have to pay $25 a month, otherwise you can park anywhere you want and they seem to have plenty of parking for that. We liked that they had a fixed rate for water/sewer/trash, so we always knew what our rent was gonna be every month. We also liked that there was a good size pantry in the kitchen area. The apartment lacks having extra storage, but the pantry makes up for that.
Our kitchen was not the best quality and outdated. When we went to move in, there were things that should've been corrected before they even rented the apartment. We did not want to deal with them having to resurface the kitchen counters and the bathtub. I cannot deal with that kind of acetone stink, it's super gross. Again, all that should've been handled and dealt with before they even rented the apartment out to anybody. So, we were stuck having to live with it for the time we had our lease. Overall it's not a bad place as long as you don't have a dog. I had several run-ins with Javelina inside the complex. Arizona is a desert and I know they were just looking for food, but it was definitely some scary encounters. read more
