So impressed with Sunglass Hut at Harbourtown!…read more Went in there looking for sunnies (duh!) and found out that, in addition to the regular range, they stock "less than perfect" which is when someone has dropped/scratched a pair of sunnies, they sell them for 50% off. How did I not know about this until today?! Considering I have a 16mth old daughter who loves to throw/drop my stuff I don't mind getting a less than perfect pair! I was choosing between 2 pairs, one normal and one less than perfect (the sales lady pointed out the scratch but I honestly couldn't see it). The manager asked how I was going and I told her I couldn't decide. She looked at the sunnies and then took the normal pair off me and said "let me see if I can find something wrong with these, then I can label them as less than perfect and I'll do it 2 for 1". She studied them for a few minutes but couldn't find anything wrong, then said "I'll do it anyway" so I paid half price for one pair of sunnies and got the other pair for free!! To say I was stunned was an understatement. I got a pair of Versace and a pair of Dolce & Gabbana sunnies ($900 normal price) for $240. Stoked. I know where I'll be doing all my sunnies shopping in future!

So many sunglasses, so little sun, so little time. Just kidding, we live in Australia, of course…read morethere's plenty of sun! We all need to wear sunglasses. The sunglass hut is a very popular place to buy sunnies from. Wether you're looking for fashion sunglasses, or protective eyewear then the sunglass hut have got you covered. The best thing about this store? It's large which means it has plenty of stock to offer, and of course the most important part is that it's an outlet store (cue screaming) with means all eyewear and accessories are discounted. You won't find better at any other Sunglass Hut.

They have quite a good range of frames for new glasses, and a reasonably fast turnaround for delivery. A pair of glasses is a very personal thing, and these days they do not come particularly cheap but these guys are pretty affable and will allow you to make a series of payments so you are not stuck with a big lump sum all at once to pay for new glasses. Let's face it, you are lucky to get away with a new pair of glasses for under $1000.00 if you are buying new frames along with the lenses, so if you are on a low income or even a moderate income it is nice to know you can pay it over a few weeks. This is why I have been and returned to these guys; along with the fact that they have been very supportive of people on a low income whom I have brought in for an eye checkup. If you have a Medicare Card it is a minimal cost. Once you have found a decent optician it is good to stay with them because there is a lot to be said about continuity in these situations. Friends of mine who have required glasses for shortsightedness have been able to get a new pair of glasses with frames for under $200.00 so if you are on the pension or unemployment benefits, don't let their swank address in North Terrace put you off, they're worth a visit, and it is definitely worth discussing your situation and needs before you sit down for the actual eye test, just to let them know what's what. It is best to make an appointment, but I have no doubt you'll get a look in if you just wander in off the street like I did the very first time, you may have to wait for twenty minutes, but that's not too long under those sorts of circumstances; otherwise obviously, book an appointment.
