Went to see a Bris for the first time here. The Jewish circumcision ceremony. Very interesting event, the family was a mix of Ashkenazi and Sephardic Jews, so they each had their own crazy traditions in the mix! The Persians (sephardic ones) were a bit more relaxed and crazy with their whooping and hollering (AYIYIYIYIYIYIYYIYI!!!!!) and the Ashkenazi (the whiter blond looking ones), were a bit more serious and conservative.
Outside the place looks a bit rough, but inside it's nice if a bit dated. The building itself is two stories tall with a mezzanine, and in the interior there is a bunch of pretty stained glass windows. Lots of interesting details to look at.
There's not much parking available in their parking lot, but there is free 2 hour street parking after 8am.
Protip: Never show up on time to a Persian Jewish meeting, they never start anything on time! Unless you don't mind chillin and shooting the breeze with people, but the ceremonies ain't starting on time.
I doubt I'll be back! nothing wrong with the place, but just not my scene. read more
