It would be utterly trite and super simplistic to say that like my 1987 stop smoking tape we're replacing the limiting thoughts with positive ones ... and we are, but this is on an emotionally global scale. I would offer that you can't be afraid of a hypnotherapist (making you cluck like a chicken 'cause that's just stage bullshit) having you become or do something you don't want to (because that's impossible, I speak from experience), but you CAN hire a skillful one to be like the worlds most talented (William, that is) Subconscious Mind Cave Guide ... which is me waxing poetic that I've witnessed him gently working with "me" and "my parts" to find the most skillful "path" towards more emotional freedom and ease. Bottom line: If anyone is here looking to solve substance-related issues, I'd strongly encourage you to look for help through a conventional medical provider, especially if you have health insurance. That approach will take more time and effort on your part, but the data shows that it usually pays off if you're willing to do the work. I paid almost nothing for a comprehensive program at Kaiser which used a multi-modal approach and led to a lasting solution (16 months and counting as of today) for my problems. For me, Eric's services were a waste of many hundreds of dollars. Spending the same amount on out of pocket sessions with a cognitive behavioral therapist would have yielded a better outcome.
