I am a young professional - only 3 years out of college and left my job in Chicago to relocate near my family in Raleigh because of a family emergency. If you're coming in for a mandatory meeting, it's best to follow the instructions outlined in the letter from DES (Department of Employment Security). Doing so will cut your appointment time in half. Be honest about your job hunt and what you're looking for. Don't be afraid to ask for help in areas that you struggle with. For my first meeting, I discovered a useful website that will show local salary ranges to better prepare myself when negotiating salary requirements. I also got some really good feedback on how to improve my resume. Both these services were free. If you are a veteran, or have a disability, there are a wealth of resources available to ensure you find a job that meets your needs. We hired Transworld to sell our business. initially they were very quick to respond and sign us up…read more We met with a broker gave some information about our business and we did sign a contract. We felt that once hired and they asked for more info they put our listing on multiple platforms... we did not hear from them regularly. we asked our broker to please update biweekly and he sent statistic. Not aggressive as far as finding qualified buyer. We found the buyer. We had 4 different showings leads all from us. my husband spent hours showing, speaking , and emailing them. Two of the potential buyers engaged with the broker, no sale from them, as a matter of fact both the broker and Tina the owner sat in a meeting and my husband led the meeting the entire time. We even spoke to Tina about frustrations with the broker. Nothing came out of it. We ended up selling lower than expected. Bottom line we asked for reduction in commission and basically was told There commission is $15,000 as stated in marketing agreement. I asked for invoice and sent me just what the amount was .No details... I.e. cost of marketing on sites, hours spent, or any details of expenditures. Do Not use them to sell anything. We basically did most of the work and still had to pay$15,000. contract stated 11percent or minimum $15,000. she could have just charged the 11% which was thousanddss of dollar.
