He told me he was working on the email. I waited. I called back. He was getting irritated so I kept waiting. More weeks went by. No estimate email. Another call. I told him I was ready to pull the trigger on the driveway. He was getting more irritated on the phone. He said the rain was causing delays and he couldn't schedule anything but it would probably be 6 weeks. Okay, that's fair. Four weeks go by. I email to schedule. Complete silence now. No email estimate. No more calls. No emails. Another email. Nothing. I'm looking into Austin at Sugar Bear now. I've lost two months into my home build. Two dumpsters were brought in and placed on our asphalt drive, one positioned such that the wheels were supported by blocks of wood and also setting on a concrete apron the second was set up slightly further than the first, not setting on the concrete and setting on small pieces of thin plywood. As a result of this, the weight of the dumpster which sat there from Thursday to the following Monday caused deep divots in the drive. My roofing contractor was notified who in turn notified Ez Rolloff and after their inspection felt they had no responsibility since there had been "wood" placed under the wheels so therefore, it wasn't there fault. Just be careful with this company if they have such careless attitude of others property and won't accept wrongdoing of their practices. I did ask the owner of another company that rents rolloffs and explained the situation and his response was- "Of course he would take care of something that one of his drivers had responsibility for. It is obvious that the problem stemmed from improper placement of the rolloff and inadequate support for the weight of the wheels on asphalt paving." Buyer beware is all I can say!

828 Electric was recommended by neighbors on NextDoor with almost all mentioning Joel, the owner…read more Joel sent a guy named Michael to my house to do the quote. I showed him around the house and talked to him about my wiring needs for every room except the kitchen, which had been done by a licensed electrician a year earlier as part of a kitchen remodel. As we walked around the house, he said he was going to rewire the kitchen, even though it had already been done. He didn't really give a reason. I took him to the crawlspace after that where he discovered some questionable wiring. A week and a half passed and still no quote was sent to me so I contacted Joel and 2 to 3 days later spoke with Michael, who called me to say he would have it the next day but it ended up coming a few days later. The quote was at the high end and just a lump sum with very little detail. I responded a few days later with an email asking for detail and a breakout of the kitchen that I didn't want to pay for twice but didn't hear from him again until the following week. Communication was very poor. Because I was new to the area I posted on the NextDoor app asking people if not receiving any detail with a quote was a common occurrence for Western NC. Many people responded that it was not and that they wouldn't accept a quote like that (I did not mention 828 electric in my post). When Michael finally called me after days had passed once again, he stated that providing a lump sum without detailed parts and labor was the way they did things, and no one had ever asked him for more detail (apparently I was the first in all the years they'd been in business). I found that hard to believe but didn't really know what to say. He said that he wanted to rewire the kitchen because of the questionable wiring in the crawlspace but when he told me he was including the kitchen in his quote, he hadn't yet seen the questionable wiring so that was patently not true. He continued the call in a this is "my way or the highway" tone instead of looking for a middle ground regarding detail. Of course I didn't use them and I would not recommend this company to anyone.

To their credit, they refunded that amount after I brought it to their attention but I think they did it because they were CAUGHT. However, the same technician also quoted me ~$8,000.00 to replace my well pump. I just had it replaced by another company for right at $4,000.00 -- exactly HALF the price. They quoted me DOUBLE what it actually costs. When I reported the overcharge, I was told the technician would be written up. He was only written up because he got CAUGHT. I have no doubt this kind of pricing is widespread across this company. Do NOT use All About Plumbing. I'll also be saving documentation of all of this. Just know that these things get out, and sometimes companies get sued out of business for STEALING from people.
