I'm getting ready to sell my home. I thought it would be a good idea to have my septic located before I sold it. Turns out the idiot who built my deck put it over my septic tank (that idiot is me). From start to finish, it took about 2 weeks to get a new septic tank put in. The old septic tank was never pumped (my fault), and it had a fracture in it.
Here's the interesting part, and where I learned something. I needed to get this work done ASAP. The hold up was going to be getting a concrete guy to fill the old tank with cement. I wanted it filled with dirt. José told me that the best choice was to fill this with concrete, as the old septic tank could and would crumble over time, ruining my nice concrete path and deck. I explained to José I didnt have time for that, that we needed to get this done ASAP. I explained I would take full responsibility if anything happened to my deck or concrete path. He was polite and gave me two other septic tank companies to contact, because he didn't want his name on a job that was done less than properly. For the first time in my life, I listened to someone who has a lot more experience in this arena than I do. It's important to note that Carolina septic makes no money from the concrete. This is an independent contractor.
Well, they just left after finishing the job, and I'm glad I listened. Their charge was $3,850.00, which with what they did was completely worth it.
Roy was the excavator, he was exceptionally pleasant to deal with, and was very skilled. EJ was his partner, and he was exceptionally nice too. Most importantly, no one made me feel like an fool for not finding out where the septic tank was.
José and I spent several hours on the phone, brain storming, and again, he was always very nice.
I 100% recommend this company, and I will be hiring them out for any of my new house's septic needs.
I can't tell you how reassuring it is to have someone not only do a great job, but to insist it's done right.
Funnily, at the end of their job, I was going to pay José, but he wouldn't take the money until I surveyed the complete job when it was done (about 45 minutes later). So, he didn't just take the money and run, he wanted me to be 100% satisfied, and it turns out, I'm more than satisfied!
Thanks again, gentlemen! read more
