In late September 2016 we contracted with David (Willow Park Upholstery) to cover two living room…read morechairs. At his request he was given a deposit for the material and he picked up the chairs. Ten days later and the business' phone message box was full and the business was vacated. Called the BBB, well meaning but of little help. Met with Service Alberta and received a lengthily letter of reply, which was of no help. Contacted U-Sue who were very helpful, David had been successfully sued previously. Also, talked to the lawyer who was able to provide a little information. The city of Calgary closed the business license in October 2016 due to the premises being vacant. Did a registry search on Willow Park Upholstery and the business was struck for not filing their Annual Returns since 2010. This would suggest to me David is liable and not a corporation By chance my wife ran into David in the Superstore on McLeod Trail early in 2017. He was then at Southland Upholstery. I met with David on a number of occasions and the chairs were stripped and always close to being done, but there was always an excuse (they didn't order enough fabric to finish the chairs, then the die lot was different so it had to be reordered, the chairs were in Cochrane with someone but they couldn't get a hold of them, then they were in north Calgary, then they found they made contact with whoever had the chairs but they couldn't find the fabric. ENOUGH ALREADY, I served David with a Letter of Demand in October as a precursor to potentially taking legal action. I left it until after the Xmas season and what happens, a repeat of the previous debacle. The above is a summary of my experience. If someone is interested in jointly taking legal action I may be interested in participating.

However, on October 18, they picked everything up. Estimated time of delivery - 6 weeks. It is now 2.5 months later and I have the love seat back. The skirts are uneven. The nap is wrong. The back cushions do not match the couch or the ones that went in. The sofa is 'almost ready', apparently, per last weeks phone call. Today, I went by their store front to find it is absolutely empty! So, where the heck am I to pick up my missing couch?
