I have a second home in Pittsburg, Texas, and my refrigerator started having issues holding…read moretemperature on Christmas Eve. I called several companies and Affordable Appliance Repair was the only company willing to send a technician to look at the refrigerator that day. The technician looked at the refrigerator and actually suggested that my French door refrigerator probably needed to be replaced rather than repaired. It was in like new condition with the exception of the repair. I told him that was not an option. He then told me the part would need to be ordered. It was estimated to take three (3) business days to get the part. I offered to pay for the service call and also front money for the part. The offer was refused. I moved some items to an outside freezer, utilized coolers and also packed items in the refrigerator in portable ice packs to get through the holiday weekend. A week later I had not heard from the technician and called him. He answered and told me the part was ordered and was not here. I asked him to just call me when it arrived and we would give him access to the house. I never heard from him again! I called and left a couple of voice mail messages after being told the part had not arrived and also sent a couple of text messages asking for follow-up. There was no response. I emptied the refrigerator after the holidays and it continued to fluctuate in temperature for the next three (3) months! Finally, on a visit back to the house in April, it went completely out and I called another service provider to come look at the unit. They came to look at the refrigerator the same day I called. The needed part was ordered and the repair was done the next day. It cost me approximately $225.00 total with parts and labor. I asked the technician who actually performed the repair from the other company if they would ever suggest replacement of a refrigerator for the repair that was done and they told me that would be insane! They were surprised that anyone would even suggest replacement over repair in this case. Affordable Appliance Repair was affordable because they charged me nothing. I received nothing as well except an initial visit with absolutely no follow-up. I know who I am calling now for appliance service and it is NOT Affordable Appliance Repair.
