This review is for the preschool playtime on Monday and Friday mornings…read more For 1 hr and $5 per child, you have use of facilities, including a spring floor, trampolines, balance beams, jumping into foam pits, etc. I've been there 1-2 years ago and at that time, there weren't a lot of staff, most kids were running around without supervision....i.e. chaotic and an accident waiting to happen. However, I went today and there have been some improvements that made the experience much better. There are signs with general instructions ("Please stay with your child at all times" seems self explanatory but it helps to reinforce it), and also signs outside some areas that can get chaotic (trampoline sign says to limit to 60 seconds per turn). More staff were around to help manage the area. In a trampoline runway into a foam pit, one of the workers helped act guide all the children to take turns so people didn't run into each other. There is also an area that is more toddler friendly as well that I think is new. 5 stars for making improvements so that the playtime is much more enjoyable (and safe) for kids and parents alike!

They explained how to use the kid friendly equipment and the kids had a great time. The whole area was kept well and looked clean and organized. Lot of gymnastics equipment around for sure kids would have a wonderful time . They do also have classes Wch seems interesting and will try to enroll the kids during summer Overall a fun place to visit with kids on snow days or just to get them exhausted and have a relaxing evening if they go to bed early . They do have open gym a few days a week for a fee Of $15 I think. A place to visit for a lil gymnasts to have fun and exhausted end of the day.

EMU keeps the air inside pretty dry. Occasionally, the air is a bit humid but that's only on the steamiest of days outside. There is a convenient drop off lane that is covered off the main drive. Parking is conveniently located across the street. I have been bringing my daughter here for soccer practice for at least five years. I cannot believe there was no Yelp page for the EMU dome until I added the facility. Enjoy! A great EMU resource!

I signed my 4 yr. old son up for a class there through a Groupon offer which allowed him 4 classes…read more(1/week) for $12. We didn't enjoy the experience. First the parents are not allowed inside the gym. There is see-through paneling up that allows the parents to see inside the room and if it is very quiet outside in the waiting room you can still hear what is being said....I don't think the instructors realize this because, there were quite a few times were I could hear them making disparaging remarks towards the students. Specifically, my son has a rather unusual name but only one syllable and therefore easy to learn with a little effort; well instead of learning his name, they would just refer to him as "boy". I found this rather rude. There were several other children in the class and they had no problem remembering their names. There was also another instructor there one day and she was asking the usual instructor if they should have another student go again and she rolled her eyes and said, "what's the point?". The student looked rather hurt. I mean they are 4 so of course they don't get things right....that is the point in giving them lots of chances to try again and again. Besides their rudeness. The students basically walk around the equipment and don't interact with it much. They have two walk-overs on the balance beam and they hop on the vault platform. The rest of the time they are just walking or hopping around in a circle. It really just seemed pretty silly. There was no learning of how to do stretches or footwork or muscle building. It was just like any other playgroup one would see at First Steps or the ones anyone can attend for free at the library except in this instance they are surrounded by expensive gymnastics equipment. They never checked in with me to see if my child would continue after the Groupon; which I also thought was rather weird. What is the point of having a Groupon if you are going to treat the people that use them like crap? Do you really think that will help your image? If you don't want people to use them because, you don't want to teach the children at that reduced rate then simply don't offer them. I mean there was never a hello or goodbye from the instructor....I was completely ignored. We didn't even bother going to the 4th session because, my son said the instructor was mean and it really made me wonder what else they were saying that I just missed and couldn't hear because, we weren't allowed in the gym.

There was an outdoor, and it looked like an indoor playing field as well We played outdoors on a beautiful turf field. The area is surrounded by a forest, which makes it a very attractive place. Not sure how this place...or who characterized it as a "day care" (I guess Comerica Park would be…read moredaycare if you dropped your kids off for a baseball game), but 100% this place is for indoor soccer league playing. A nice tennis facility in the area with adult clinics available. The staff are friendly and they…read moreare a well oiled machine with turning courts over on time. Membership is very expensive - nearly $500/yr for an individual - and you don't get much benefit. Slightly less expensive clinics (like $5/class) and there are almost never courts available nights/weekends to rent. I do not see the value or benefit. The adult clinics are "ok" at best. Let me preface that the instructors are VERY nice. As people, I like them alot. That being said, the structure leaves a lot to be desired. The Sunday night classes are very slow paced with wayyyyy too much time being spent on stories and anecdotes. A 90 minute class with 30 of those minutes being a warm-up. Lots of standing around time vs. actual playing. The most beneficial time spent is with the 2nd instructor when he pulls a small group aside for personalized feedback and instruction. The Thursday night class is good, but it's so late - 8-9pm - and only an hours length. I wish there were more night/weekend options and with other instructors. Overall it's a decent choice in the area, but the membership fees are astronomical with very little value.

I started playing at HVTC in late August 2018, in a Saturday adult clinic, and immediately feel in love with the place. Very friendly and helpful front desk people, great and encouraging pros, and of course, the love and dedication to our shared passion for tennis! Look no further: this is THE place to be for tennis in Ann Arbor! More details: Adult tennis clinics/lessons: various programs throughout the day/week. If you're unsure, simply ask the front desk staff: super friendly and helpful! The clinics are very well structured and organized. All the pros are super nice! They may have different teaching styles/approaches, but they are all very encouraging, observing, and willing to help (consider this: I've taken lessons with almost all the pros in the club while I was there). Recreational leagues (adult women's): I've only participated in the inter-club league (daytime) and some USTA teams. There's also occasional friendly competitive playing such as the mixed doubles social. Anne S., the USTA coordinator, does an amazing job of taking care of one's need/preference to play on a team, even if this person doesn't know anyone (like how I was when I first got there). Administrative staff: like I have mentioned above, everyone is nice and willing to help! They go up and beyond to answer any questions that you may have. And this is beyond just midwest sweetness! Summary: I wish I could have found out about this club earlier while I was in Ann Arbor for grad school... Despite the short time as a member of club, I hold this place very close to my heart. It is not just "love at first sight". It is a community, dear long lasting friendship, and most importantly, a home to me that will stand behind me all the time! P. S. Pictures of sunrise and sunset at HVTC. And a club koala just in time for the Australian open!
