If you are driving into Vegas from California, this is an easy stop right off of the 15 right before you enter the city. It's one of the many quirky roadside art attractions that you can find in the southwest, especially when you get close to Route 66. As you would guess they are seven different towers compiled of colored boulders. There is a free parking lot attached and it's a very short walk to the rocks. It can get quite crowded at times so it's very hard to get a picture without any people in it but this is a fun little roadside stop that is good for people of all ages. Especially if you've been traveling for a while and need to stretch your legs. There are not any bathrooms or retail spots on site, but there are gas stations not that far. I would recommend.

The Seven Magic Mountains is a free to visit public art installation that is on the way to the main Las Vegas Blvd area, just off interstate 15. It features 7 massive towers of colorfully painted, stacked boulders. It's truly an impressive feat. Like how was the artist able to stack these massive rocks while achieving such stability?? I went on a Friday evening, and there weren't a lot of people. Parking was plentiful. Do note that the entire pathway is dusty and sandy, so I recommend wearing a pair closed-toe shoes that you don't mind getting dirty. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here. I hope the art installation is able to stay there for a long time to come.

Was on my Vegas bucket list. The idea seems silly but is such a beautiful site, peaceful area and was so fun to see. Only 20 miles-ish from the strip! Easy to stop for 15 mins and leave. We went on the Sunday before Thanksgiving - beautiful weather slightly windy and a fair amount of people without being too crowded.

It was kinda crowded . Post holiday visit in our way to Vegas. The weather was great. Limited parking space but free to everyone.

This spot was busy with lots of people and parking, but it's definitely worth a visit while in Las Vegas. It's about 15 minutes off the Strip, and the colorful installations set against the desert landscape make for a really cool experience. A great combination of art and nature!

You always see it off the 15 going to vegas, but how many of us actually stop! Well, I did! It's pretty cool up close! Make it a stop! It's fun!

Nice wonder to see i didn't stay long as I was on a road trip ready to get to my destination yet the road to this site is super convenient and not crowded at all. In the midst of a dusty brown desert this pop of color is truly magical. It does remind me of gum from under a desk or a nice scoop of ice cream. I've seen it online a lot and been to Vegas often and never had a chance to see it. So it was pretty cool to see this colorful art in person.

Pretty cool spot for some pictures with the family. It's free to visit and only 20+ mins from the Vegas strip.

Look at the view... clear blue sky

This place is so cool. They did amazing job doing this specially in the middle of no where... lot people came to visit. If you guys want to take a pictures make sure you guys get there early when no one is around to appreciate the whole view.

Seven Magic Mountains in Summer = Brutal but Beautiful Taking a detour to Seven Magic Mountains in the summer is no joke we went around 10:00 AM and it was already 110 degrees and packed with people. If you're visiting during the hotter months, try to come early or wait for cooler weather. Heads up: there are no restrooms on site, but during our visit, there was an ice cream truck parked nearby (lifesaver!). About 2-3 miles south, you'll find gas stations if you need a break. And seriously if you're visiting, please don't leave your trash or vandalize the rocks. It's so disrespectful to the space and everyone else trying to enjoy

Such a cool exhibit to check out while heading to Vegas very nice photo op and I literally always wonder how they stay up and don't fall over my only complaint would be that I wish there was restrooms here the area is kind of empty and would be nice to at least have porta potties for the visitors.

A large scale desert Artwork by internationally renowned Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone is located approximately 10 miles south of Las Vegas strip. I have been wanting to check out this installation but we never have the need to rent a car, until this time around. The name "Seven Magic Mountains" comes from the artist. Seven towers of colorful boulders. Magic suggests a sense of wonder and enchantment. The boulders are stacked and form the appearance of small mountains. It is free and open to the public. No admission fee to visit but you can make a donation on their website. No restroom facilities or other amenities at the site. Fantastic place to take pictures!

Visited and took photos at Seven Magic Mountains. A really neat exhibit by Ugo Rondinone. This is a cool place to stop, explore and take photos. Today's visit was nice because it wasn't busy nor crowded. If you get a chance to stop and visit please do before they take this exhibit down. There's plenty of spots for parking and it's free.

Visiting LV and want to drop by. Will they still be open March 2023?

Yes - at least until end of 2027.

Is it lit up at night?

    No it's not.

Are the rumors true that seven magic mountains will no longer be up next year 2022? Tryna visit during January.

Yes, unless it is extended they will be leaving at the end of the year.

Can you picnic here? Possibly bring chairs or table?

Probably. There's really no regulations for this place. Just social distance

What time of day would be best for photographing the mountains?

We went in the morning and it was great. There are no lights in the area, so I would definitely try to go before it gets really dark.

Has anyone tried to go here and leave here via Uber or Lyft?

You can probably take a ride service here and ask the driver to wait if you don't plan on staying long. It's about a 2-3 minutes walk from the parking lot to the structure. I would think that Uber/Lyft would probably take forever to come pick you… Read more

Is there some kind of off roading to get here? Can a regular car make it? Thanks so much.

A regular car can make it. My Prius did.

Sights are beautiful! From parking to walking around, everything is kept up nicely and very clean. Parking is $10 at the visitor center, however, there are other sporadic small parking lots to see some more gorgeous sights, that are free of charge. I did think the parking at the visitor center was fun and different, inside a mountain. Also, the Hoover Dam gift shop has so many cool items/souvenirs, so make sure you stop by right next to the visitor center parking structure. The only comment/critique I would make is regarding the Hoover Dam cafe, adjoined with the gift shop. Although it is kept clean inside and the employees are very friendly, it is entirely too small, especially for the amount of visitors going in and out. There aren't many tables inside, and even though the outside eating area is nice, it is hot most of the year, so many are not able to eat outside. I would love to see the indoor cafe area expanded to provide a comfortable air conditioned spot to have something to eat, especially for families with small children and visitors that are up in age. We are looking forward to returning to Hoover Dam soon, and next time taking a tour! Also, if you are looking for a great spot to eat on the drive to or from Hoover Dam, for a little larger of a meal, Fox's BBQ in Boulder City has excellent food with friendly servers!

Going in we had an issue. We were told the pepper spray my daughter keeps in her purse could not come in, ok, no problem, we would walk it back to the car. Unnecessary, for sure. There were no signs saying no pepper spray, and kindness goes a long way. He is dealing with tourists and really is in the service industry, he should probably act like it. None of the security guards had name tags that I could easily read, this would be nice. Deducted a star for rude employee experience.

This isn't just any ordinary piece of art, but is more like a stop-in-your-tracks awkwardly hilarious masterpiece. It is especially fun to watch wide-eyed tourists gawk and stare, especially preteen boys who seem to have a proclivity to point and giggle. It's not just the boys who get caught in an awkward trance. There are countless opportunities for classic and unintentionally raunchy photo ops. With a little strategic positioning (especially by "pointing" in the right direction) you can make this statue look like it's up to all kinds of silly, R-rated shenanigans. It's prime real estate for setting the backdrop for the kind of photos you'll show your friends later and then immediately regret posting (but you didn't hear it from me). I think the Bliss Dance is the gift that keeps on giving, with her glistening metallic skin and ample features. It's the perfect blend of high art and Vegas weirdness. Free and open 24/7.
