Service is what is missing. First we made reservations weeks in advance for our room. Request which was also confirmed to have room with fireplace on an upper floor as part of a wedding party. The reality we were given a handicap room no fireplace first floor. When we asked for the room we had reserved, the staff stated the could not accommodate our request. Yet we could tell the hotel was not full. Hotel front desk staff person was rude. Second the hotel does not have real food service. The only option is a snack shop which provides sandwiches and pizza. The only restaurants are in town some 10 miles away. Yet the hotel web site still states that there is a restaurant on open on site in addition to the snack shop. Third you can hear people walking in the room above your room. So much for a restful stay. Recommend going to a hotel in town for better service. read more

I had a party of 3 today and we were very disappointed. We went for their Easter buffet. It was $16 plus tax and included a beverage. They kept running out of food also the free beverage was warm water, coffee or lemonade which they never had filled. I had asked dthe young girl twice, the cashier. Had to stay here for work. The only housekeeping that came was done twice in this 21 days. Stopped multiple times to ask for housekeeping to come for six days in a row. Had to beg for housekeeping to come. They never did. Tried to lie to us and say that they did when we were gone for the day. Sleeping at a homeless shelter would have been better! Had no choice to stay here because it was for work! Went to snack shack at 8:30pm. It says closes at 9pm. They couldn't help us cuz "they were on break". Coffee tasted like a dirty boot. Immediately upon entering I headed to the ATM, only to find it and every other one "out of order" forcing you to go to the cashier to do a withdrawal and pay the astronomical fees associated with it. Hey we're in Thief River Falls, why not put the emphasis on thief. The few people gambling seemed depressed. Nobody seemed cheerful, winning or happened to be having a good time. I quickly lost my money and decided to leave and save myself from another cashier fee. At the moment, I had decided this was a 2 star experience. While leaving I couldn't help but notice so many people wiping down machines and surfaces. That means something to me, and I realize everyone not really enjoying themselves might be a unique experience, so we'll call it a 3 star visit. read more

‼ ‼‼‼‼ PSA ‼‼‼‼‼ LONG POST AHEAD!!!! If you are considering staying at the @7ClansHotel&Waterpark you may want to read this first and reconsider if you have small children!! I didn't read reviews like I should have before we went. It would have saved us $265. I usually don't do this but it needs to be said others with small children need to know what to expect. We arrived hoping to have a good time and it was one of the worst experiences I have had at a family place. Things to consider: We wanted to schedule a weekday but they only allow access to the waterpark on weekends. They were supposed to have the pool open until 10 but closed at 8. Within 2 mins of us getting there and heading to the slides one of the workers stopped us after sliding one time to tell us that Brydger couldn't wear his life jacket. She said they don't want anyone to because the Velcro would scratch the slides. I was holding Brydger so I asked her how it could have scratched the slides if I was holding him she the proceeded to tell me that I couldn't have him on my lap because we couldn't go down the slide together. We didn't even come close to the weight limit for the slide and I am definitely not comfortable putting my 2 year old down a water slide ALONE or WITHOUT a life vest. We never let him ride on my lap again and he cried the whole time because he couldn't go down the slides like brother. After 10 mins of being there we were approached by someone else who went out of her way to tell us one at a time on the slides. I told her that's all we had been doing and she went on like nothing happened. I get there are rules for things but it was like they went out of their way to harass us. Several other small children had vests on in the area and they nor the parents were approached. We spent $265 on our room that had no hair dryer, had hairs in the tub and was dirty, the floors were dirty, found a bug in our bed, and had to sign a waiver to check out towels before we could dry off. They said they would try to find us a hair dryer in another empty room but never brought one. We asked twice. If I would have known it would have been so much of a headache I would have drove to Kansas City and went to the Great Wolf Lodge before dealing with them. They also put an extra $100 hold on our account so that if anything in the room was off they could keep that so I will be watching my account closely. I feel like it was way expensive, the management is ridiculous, and overall not worth any of the headache or hassle! Not to mention the fact that they are more concerned about scratches on their slides than the safety of small children. I'm not telling you not to go but I would read other reviews as well. I'm definitely not the only person who had had issues there and I will not be going back. read more

I have been to every casino in the state of Minnesota...its a fun little travel adventure that the boy and I partake on for weekend road trips. We looped this one in on a string of 5 casinos on our way to Grand Forks. The casino is literally in the middle of no where which was a bit of a challenge. Their loyalty program is complete BS...for joining you do not even get $5 free pay...we got a mug....really?! The slots are mediocre in regards to tightness. Its a beautiful facility but there were a lot of issues when I was was there. Broken machines and broken ticket redemption centers. And apparently they charge hotel guests to use the water park...that's kinda BS! read more

Hotel is 9miles out in the country, no dining options - restaurant is closed. Rooms were 124.00 and no complimentary breakfast or coffee. Our room had Japanese beetles - I took pictures but can't upload. The individual Keruig blew up in the room. The pandemic has destroyed many things, hospitality services have suffered greatly, but reading the reviews going back to pre-pandemic, the services haven't changed here and I can't recommend this hotel to anyone until they have a change in management and hire someone who understands hospitality services. read more

For the record, The hotel was remodeled in 2018. I don't know hard facts but I believe I heard it took 3/4 of a year to do like 7 million dollars worth of renovations. That old carpeting, gone. Health and Safety is top priority. Every single bed in the building, gone. Each one replaced. Now the rooms are very... I'd say call it a Modernized Log Cabin feel. There is fireplace suites. Flat screen TVs. Plenty of space in each area of the room. I didn't feel like I was showering in a closet. No banging my elbow on the wall midway. I appreciated that feeling of enough space. Sleek appliances combined with comfortable furniture. The backsplashes are pleasantly blended earth-tones. I found the experience to be surreal. It's visually relaxing to the point you almost feel like you're finally done pushing forward on a journey and you arrived home to this place you've never seen but you are at peace inside because you know you're home. Customer service WAS horrible! We had to pay for the waterpark, even though we were staying at the hotel. Girl at the counter had no change, ended up getting it in nickels and 20 cents from some other employee. Lacking in tubes, you have to steal one when you can. Restaurant was closed so we had to eat at the malt shop. Again the customer service was horrible. Waited 15 minutes to get menus. Food was meh. Save yourself the hassle and stay at the Come on Inn if you come to Thief River Falls. read more

We stayed 1-26-16, the water park is shut down for a few days. The place is out away from everything. Room rate was only $40.00. My wife likes to play slots, but didn't have allot of success. No big deal. We took a break for dinner OMG! Worst food of any casino we have visited. Items on menu not available so fake whipped potatoes and some kind of fish. Yuck! Couldn't eat. Was traveling for work and like staying at casinos, the rooms are cheap and all the services you need are usually onsite. Room rate was $40 which I find normal for casinos in norther Minnesota. Pool area was still closed from other review. Front desk at check in was nice but then it goes downhill Staff seems to care about themselves and not the people staying there (seemed more like hood rats than employees). The hostess (Nichole) at the restaurant looked up at me and barely whispered one meaning just myself for dinner. She handed me silverware and started to walk back towards seating and then stopped and went back up front to talk. Sat myself were i wanted. There was another couple that came in at the same time and we all went to the salad bar. We were the only three people getting food and another staff member thought it was important enough to not say anything but just push between us to get some Ranch dressing (Kinda Rude). Went back for main course and I've had better food out of a box or the frozen isle. My mom can't cook and her food tasted better than this crap. The room although pretty clean had holes in the wall, sink that looked like it was eaten through by the drain and a bed that just sucked. I've stayed at Motel 6 with better. In the morning got up at 7am to start my work day and wanted breakfast. There are no numbers in the guest book so you have to call the front desk to get connected. Took a while for the desk to answer and they connected me with the Malt Shop. Took a while for them to answer, all I wanted to do was order the food and go down and get it but was told had to order in person and they didn't open till 8am. Tried the front desk again to reach the other restaurant that says it opens at 7am, no answer after a minute of ringing. Probably not a loss on the food since dinner sucked. Took the family to the water park and stayed in a Deluxe suite. Hotel was old and run down. The first night we were there we waited in line for 45 minutes, on a Monday evening, to get into the restaurant. We left before we got seated because our two young kinds were hungry; we asked if we could seat ourselves, we noticed there were 15 to 20 open tables, and we were told no. After waiting 45 mins we went to the malt shop were it took another 20 mins to get a waitress to get out from behind the counter and to stop talking to her coworker so we could order; we had to get our own menus. Food was not impressive; our waitress tried to deliver our food to two other tables before we got it. This place has no concept of what customer service is. The staff would rather stare at you then help you. The water park was great but it was run down and rusty. The 35 dollars a night we paid for our outdated room was too much! Beds we're terrible and the people next door kept us up all night. We paid for two nights but only stayed one. Will not be back anytime soon! read more

**BED BUGS**I called and reported that I was bit over 20 times all over my body while staying there. I was in room 1031. I was interrogated by a manager named Perry or Terry. I asked for a call back from the GM which never happened. The manager I talked to never apologized and never said they would shut down the room to be tested. So the next person to stay there they don't care about either. Disgustingly horrible room and employees. Housekeeping also removed the do not disturb sign, knocked on my door and asked if I wanted room service. So I can only assume they enter you room when you're not there or wake you up when you're asleep. Internet is horrible. It doesn't load anything and makes you keep reconnecting. The fact that it's free makes no difference. What a horrible casino. read more

Our room was not clean & needed vacuuming desperately. Coffee pot didn't work, light burned out over coffee bar, stained towel etc. Had meal at Malt Shop & that was pretty bad. Have to agree with other reviewers that the employees are much more interested in talking to each other than taking care of customers. I had a few out of town clients with us who adore Native American culture. The casino is kind of in the middle of nowhere and has very few Native American attractions, so most of your needs will have to be seen to by the casino resort. It had been 3-4 years since I'd been here and a few things have nosed dived. The buffet is really bad. Don't even bother. The gift store, was once full of sterling silver, native crafts and hand made native jewelry. That's all gone and now is more of a dollar store [glad I over sold that to my foreign guests]. Poker was fun and some of the other card games. The Entertainment seems to be headed towards some of the other Casino's in the 7 Clans chain. This little guy seems to be ignored. If you are visiting a local lake or walling up for some other reason this is a nice change of pace. read more

Nothing about this hotel impressed me throughout my use of their services! My husband and I got married up north and thought it would be fun to allow our guests to stay at a hotel that offered a water park for those with children and to accommodate any down town during wedding festivities. I should have known that things would be sour from the moment I tried to block rooms and they could not spell any of our names correctly. There was immense difficulty for the workers at the casino to ensure my guests were placed under the block of rooms (which they didn't, they just placed them in random rooms throughout the hotel which totally defeated the point of blocking rooms). For those placed in the block of rooms, the hotel decided to over-charge everyone and put them in a "suite" instead of a standard room which resulted in my guests paying WAY more than I ever wanted them to. Even when it came to check-out time, they would not grant my guests a late check out, which was 11 o'clock in the morning. Apparently, they really needed to push people out the door on a Sunday morning. I never plan to use this hotel and water park ever again and I am definitely spreading how I and my guests were treated via word of mouth. This was the most terrible experience I have had to date with any type of hotel. Do NOT use their services if you can avoid it! read more

Went to the resort on a family trip solely for the water park. When I phoned to book the room I specifically asked if everything was up and running at the water park (early Sep so start of the off season) & I was assured it was and that they shut down in Feb for maintenance. Get there & only one of the 4 large water slides is running. The hotel manager had no clue what was going on at the water park and took no responsibility for her reservation desk giving out the wrong info. The water park staff also took no responsibility and their was no supervisor on site to speak with. The water park itself is in serious need of some care, everything is corroded & just run down. The rooms were decent, clean & comfy beds. The customer service was just so horrible and the water park so shabby we'll never go back or recommend it to anyone. read more

I used to love going to the waterpark but last weekend was awful. Half the lights in there had been burnt out so in one of the hot tubs and part of the lazy river was dark and creepy. Hockey parents had glass alcohol bottles in the waterpark and as a "dry casino" pointed them out (for the safety of all the kids running around bare foot) to a life guard and he put his hand up and said he was on break and to tell someone else and kept walking. Go figure but with the lights out and possible broken glass is another lawsuit waiting to happen and know one cares. Bottom line know one cares. Cost to much. The lifeguards suck. read more
