I've never left a 1 star review. I don't take this lightly at all. Cute interior, kind staff, but unprofessional, wastes your time, and low value. I saw this laser place was advertising a free first session so I booked with low expectations. I saw that it was a beautiful little shop so I thought, what could go wrong? Everything else. I made an appointment after struggling with their website to make a payment. Then, I was able to fit an appointment into my busy day. Not even 24 hours before my appointment, SEV messages me that there was an issue with my appointment and that they needed to reschedule me. None of the time slots they offered would work. I work 12 hour night shifts that end at 7am so when they proposed 1010, I made an exception and said that I would stay awake to make the appointment. No confirmation. It's extremely unprofessional to not only cancel less than 24 hours before the appointment, which is against their policy, but to also offer an appointment time right when they open and to not confirm it before closing for the day. I stayed in the downtown area after my shift for 3 hours to wait for this appointment after being given the impression that the appointment time would be saved for me but they informed me that they would not be able to accommodate me until 6pm. I was exhausted and flabbergasted. When I asked if they could do anything to make the situation better, they just told me that I should make an appointment for another day. No coupon for compensation, nothing. The place is in a very inconvenient area, located right next to petco park with no good parking and I definitely did not feel safe walking around by myself. So I will not be returning again to be met with inconsistency and subpar service. After reading the other reviews, this is not an isolated situation. It is a pattern. Booked my appointment almost a week in advance they blow you up with text messages twice a day maybe more before you're appointment comes. Tell you to show up early because this location is downtown and most people have to pay for parking. I am on time for my appointment and they refuse to open the door. This place totally kills my vibe everytime I walk through the doors but ive found that most laser hair clinics are the same. In and out super fast, no customer service and strict terms/conditions that pretty much no one reads but easily get you a steep cancellation fee. I picked Sev purely because I was tired of getting harassed by Laseraway cold calls. They are not pushy on sales which is nice. The experience of laser hair removal is you come in, quickly sign the consent forms and go over a rushed medical history with your RN while their back is facing you the entire time. Id say my results are going as planned. Overall im saving money with laser vs waxing and potentially moving closer to a permanent result so its worth it. But when you have to frequent a place pretty much every month, it would be nice if you didnt feel like an inconvenience when paying for their services. **edit: this is by no means blaming the RN and front desk staff. This was my final session of my Sev laser treatments and to sum it up, yes I would 100% prefer laser than wax! I wanted to wait until I did all my sessions first before posting a thorough review. Consultation: I got my offer through Groupon valid for six laser hair removal sessions. I spoke with a consultant to book my first appointment and chose the areas I wanted. The same day, I had a very quick FaceTime call to be screened. This process was extremely quick! Service: The staff are all professional and kind! Each appointment lasts me around 15-20 minutes, including wait time in the lobby. I've only had to wait longer once. I haven't tried rescheduling because my friends say that it is challenging so I try to just make my best effort to go. Laser Results: - Sessions (1-3): 4 weeks apart from each. I experienced growth in both areas quickly at first and the difference was slowly gradual. I was very impatient but still wanted to trust the process. I didn't see a difference until after my 3rd appt. Sessions (4-6): 5/6 weeks apart from each. Hair was growing back minimally, and I never touched the razor unless it was before my appointments! I did find that before my last session I had the most regrowth, so I knew a lot of spots were missed. My final session I was in and out in 5 minutes and I was skeptical if it was effective. Depending on your pain tolerance, they try to maximize as much as you can tolerate. For me, it was pretty low, so I did expect that my hair grew back quicker than when the technician made the laser stronger. Of course, every technician is different, but they always ask about my results and go over after care every single time. I try to go when it's daylight as it gets dark in the Fall/Winter, so booking early is ideal. (Also, booking in the colder months are recommended to avoid sweat in certain areas & minimize sunlight exposure). DO NOT BUY THEIR GROUPON! Bought a groupon for 6 sessions for XL area including brazilian and arm pits. After completing all of the sessions, you can barely tell a difference. After reading previous reviews, I requested the tech to increase the frequency as high as they would go at each appointment and it still didn't make a difference. I would like to note that I completed 6 brazilian sessions about 10 years ago and the results were night and day from what I experienced at SEV. Great affordable option for laser. What I've heard, and my experience tends to support this, is that their lasers are not quite as strong as some others. However it has definitely been working, I'm just not sure it'll get me to the point where I *never* have to shave. So far I've done 7 sessions of Brazilian and 6 of lower legs, and for both I do still see some patchy growth (not all over) after 2 weeks or so. I still have a feeling this will be overall cheaper, I may just have to go to a lot more sessions in order to get the desired results. They are, however, super fast and efficient and I've never had to wait past my appointment time. There's plenty of free parking on the street as long as it's not a game or event day (best to check the petco schedule before booking a session). Had an unfortunate experience here the other week when I was scheduled for my laser appointment. It was during the horrible storms in San Diego and I had called asking if I could reschedule my appointment day of, because it was going to be too difficult (and I felt dangerous) for me to drive to my to drive to the appointment. The gentlemen on the phone offered no help or alternatives, was cold on the phone, and didn't have any sympathy for the situation, even though they were saying not to travel unless necessary. When I couldn't get to the appointment, they used one of the passes from my value pack. The nurse would not even laser my armpits. I advised her I had been in the sun approximately two weeks ago with no antibiotics, which is within the SEV guidelines. The front desk was so kind, and the person who did my laser was also so nice and welcoming. I would give a 5-star review, however, I was disappointed with the results. I know that results very on hormones, etc, however I did 2 sessions here on two different locations. Each time I told the person I was doing my laser that I'm not feeling the snap, and I've done laser at different places before and I always feel something. The nurse told me it was okay and kept going. I didn't think much of it. I didn't see any results, but tried a different location. I then went to SEV in Northern California, and I told the lady the same thing I can't feel it, and she said oh you're supposed to otherwise it's not doing anything, so she increased the number, till I felt a snap. I immediately saw results in these areas.
