I ran to the absolute dead end of the trail and back up to Joe B Freeman Park. Do you know there are no working water fountains through the entire trail? Not even in the Play for All Abilities Park were they working. Granted there's only two water stations on the whole trail, neither worked. Other than that it is a beautiful trail, a great distance, with many things to look at. It is nice to get lost in the trees as well. The day they connect the east trail to the west will be a miracle. There are lots of places to sit as well, if you just want to be outdoors. There are several tables to eat at too, so bring a picnic basket. The trail is dirt therefore less stress on your knees. You can also bring dogs but they must be leashed. There is a small dock and a gazebo that juts out into the water so you can fish off these if you want. So for a relaxing walk with fresh air stop by Mills Pond.

Street parking is allowed on Greenlawn Blvd and at the main entrance on Heritage Springs Trail. The only amenities at this location are a few benches, a paved trail system and further inward you will find primitive trails and a dry creek crossing at Lake Creek. You can stick to the paved trails which run behind the local residents or veer off onto the primitive trails which take you into the woods. If you're looking for a quiet place to hike or bike, this would be a good starting point.

Eventually there will be more trails, but for now, it's accessible for bicycles, strollers, walkers, skaters. The meadows along the way are spectacular, especially in spring. There are still more rustic paths for those who prefer that. A few spots to access the creek easily for dogs, children, and their big people. A true success story of neighbors working with bigger entities to create more access to greenspace.

There is a creek that runs the length of it along with a couple of water retention areas, but that's about it. The only parking spot I could find was at the end of Creole Drive cul du sac. However, at that cul du sac you have some green space in front of you, with the backdrop of difficult to navigate wooded areas behind it. This park does have a Metric Boulevard address, but again, there is very little to see. If you're looking for a nice walk in the woods, I would suggest you find an alternative park as there is little to see or do here.
