I had to write a review for Dr. Cohen because I'm so thankful to have found him. I have had an issue going on for 8 months now and I've been extremely anxious as I have lost two close family members for cancer and for this reason I have extreme anxiety when it comes to health. Every step of the way Dr. Cohen was quick while also taking the time to listen and hear me out. If I had an anxious thought or wanted something done he immediately sets up an appointment for me to help ease my mind and rule everything out. He's never given me push back or made me feel like I'm over reacting. He hears my worries and sets up a plan of action. Dr. Cohen is a top-notch surgeon that also provides thoughtful patience service.  He successfully repaired a very small leak that was a result of the complication from a surgery from previous year.  Very small is often very difficult to find and requires great precision to repair successfully.   I also appreciated that he explained to me about the roadmap to surgery and kept me informed along the way. If there were more stars, I'd give them ALL to Dr. Cohen. I have been suffering for over two years with IC and was referred to Dr. Cohen by a friend. My life was severely impacted by the constant pelvic pain (which felt like chards of glass) and the uncontrolled urges to urinate. I became depressed and would panic if we had plans and there wasn't a restroom nearby - during COVID when all public restrooms were closed I had to become creative and almost gave up on a cure. I had to wait for my first appointment (May 5th) and it is so worth it. Dr. Cohen and his staff are stellar professionals. After my first visit, he ordered some tests and before I returned home, the labs and radiology centers had already reached out to me to schedule appointments. His follow-up and compassionate bedside manner are unusual in today's medical world. Just last week (July) Dr. Cohen did a procedure that has left me totally "pain-free" for 5 days and I hope it continues. When you suffer from IC - and you are pain-free - you try to let people know that life's simple tasks (urination) should never be taken for granted. I have been seeing Dr. Cohen since February 2018 for a severe pelvic prolapse and urinary incontinence. In August 2018 my surgery to repair everything was done. Dr. Cohen took the time with me at every appointment to listen to me, acknowledge my concerns, explain everything to me in detail, showed me care, concern and compassion and treated me like a patient. I always left his office feeling at ease knowing that I was being very well taken care of. The day of my surgery Dr. Cohen again took time with me and my husband to explain everything that was going to happen that day and went into detail about my recovery time, what to expect during recovery, my limitations and when I would need to follow up. Dr. Cohen then gave my husband a number to reach him anytime, even after hours should I or my husband need anything or have any questions or concerns. Dr. Cohen called my husband when the surgery was done to let him know how everything went and to see if he had any questions or concerns. When there was a problem getting my medications filled after surgery my husband called Dr. Cohen on a Saturday and not only was he available but he called the pharmacy and got everything taken care of so my husband was able to pick up my medications before I was released from the hospital. Dr. Cohen has changed my life forever. All those things I thought were "normal" for my whole life I now know were not and because of Dr Cohen and his amazing abilities my quality of life is awesome. I am doing things now that were limited before by my medical issues. I cannot thank him or the entire staff at City of Hope enough. After having been to all the urologists in the area, I finally found a good one. He specializes in women's urological issues. He is affiliated with the City of Hope and has offices in three cities. You can check his web site. My first visit, he spent a lot of time with me. It was clear he had read my chart and had all sorts of questions. He did a check-up and insisted that we rule out other things, just to be safe. I left with a lot of extra knowledge and instruction. My second visit, again he spent a lot of time with me. He remembered everything we had discussed in my previous visit. He followed up to make sure I had done the things he recommended. I had to have a procedure done and he walked me through every step, keeping my mind occupied with conversation. Two visits in and so far couldn't be happier. I really appreciate Dr Cohen who did surgery to my elderly mother successfully at the Huntington memorial hospital in Pasadena in July 2018. My mother had complicated pelvic organs prolapse with many problems including bleeding and urine incontinence ..she had seen two local Gyn doctors but her problems only gotten worse until she met Dr Cohen who did special surgery that finally took care her. Dr Cohen contacted me several times before and after the surgery asking how my mom was doing.He was very nice, patient and answered all my questions. He was very nice to do the surgery sooner when my mom's condition was getting worse. He talked to me three times immediately after the surgery in family waiting area to inform me about mom's condition. Im very new to the Urology Department but i was referred to this office by my other great Dr./ First I waited on the phone for over 30 min just to make my appt. I liked that the office was close and thats about it. I saw wonderful Dr Davis one time then he retired, thats how I met Dr Cohen !!. I timed how long i sat in the waiting room then half undressed in his exam room 1 hr 30 min total, I dressed to leave but he caught me first so i let him check. He treated my 'lady bits' like a slab of meat all the time talking to his nurse. All done, got dressed and he told his nurse to set up a bladder bio???? So I went home, its was dark outside already. I called the office the next day and changed to the women Dr....it will take a month. 7:30am the next morning i got a call from Dr Cohen telling me he gave me "Quality of care", i knew i had to sit down for his pitiful excuse for a Dr trying to apologize for my treatment. Well, we could'nt agree! as hard as he tried he will never touch my lady bits or do a bio on me EVER. read more
