Servpro of Chattanooga offered me $2,000 to write a five-star Google review for them instead of sharing my story. On May 18, 2024, my home caught on fire, luckily a neighbor spotted the flames and called the fire department. My insurance company recommended Servpro for the cleanup. After checking their Google reviews, I decided that I would work with them. Working with Servpro was an absolute nightmare. One of their technicians punched a hole in the floor of my tub/shower with a ladder and another used packaging tape to construct a plastic barrier to keep out fumes which resulted in paint being torn off two walls in my kitchen. Multiple members of Servpro's management team promised me that all the damage would be resolved to my satisfaction, but it wasn't. Servpro's first attempt at remedying the situation was to connect me with a company that could put a patch in my tub/shower at my expense. I promptly made it clear that I would not accept that offer. After getting my insurance agent involved, they decided they would pay a contractor to remedy the damage they had caused, but after seeing the initial estimate they backtracked. Servpro then offered me $1,500 (this was roughly 20% of what the initial estimate to remove and replace the shower had been) to remedy the damage. After some back and forth and making it quite clear that they weren't going any higher we settled on $2,000. There was one sticking point that I just couldn't get past. In order to receive any compensation for the damage to my home they demanded that I write a five-star Google review for them. Initially I agreed but I let them know of my displeasure. On the day I was to receive my check they presented me with a non-disparagement agreement and a non-disclosure agreement to sign. It was at that point that I told them I would rather share my story than lie for them. They of course did not see asking me to write a five-star review for them asking me to lie for them. Servpro of Chattanooga came right out, put out dehumidifiers and taped the cords down to the solid hardwood floor. Floor dried out with very little damage. When they pulled the tape, the finish came off. Now they want to charge over $10,000 to refinish the floors on top of the over $2000 we paid ($4000- + deductible). All they had to do was use a different tape or none at all. Now they state it was "incidental" damage and they're not responsible. Maybe a total area of 3 sq ft of finish damaged. Probably closer to 2 square feet. I know this is a franchise and franchisor takes this seriously. I'm sure State Farm will be contacting them after I send the estimate into claims. I wish there was a way to give negative review... Update: The owner of the franchise stated they have no responsibility because there's a clause in the contract for "consequential" damage. In other words, if they mess up something there's no avenue for remediation. Stay away from these guys. There are a bunch of other companies . read more

Quality isn't great but they get the job done. I visited the warehouse and there's no unity among the workers and the owner doesn't care much for his laborers. But I know the work they do is nasty hard work so I'll give them a bit more credit. read more

I called as an emergency at 12;15 in the morning, a tenants ceiling caved in from rain water. I was supposed to get a window of time. Afer 4 hours, I told at dawn they would get back to me. Do not use this company. I had a tree hit my house in August of this year. They were recommended by my insurance company as a provider. They accepted the large job; however, it has been horrible service ever since. We have had SOO many issues to list them all. Here are some. We paid them to remove a tree as part of the process which took many, many weeks to get done and then final when the tree was removed, the manager decided that they should not have to remove all of the tree so he just left it on our property. When asked about it, he stated that "I did not realize it was such a big deal." We were not assigned a contractor for our job so the manager will "do the best he can" to manage the job himself. Our manager is HORRIBLE at communicating with the home owners. His communication skills are very lacking. During our discussion with "the manager," he suggested that we seek other companies to do parts of the jobs instead of them because it was in "our" best interest. I wish I would have found another company from the beginning!!!!! Even though they have sooo many issues with this job, since I signed the contract, I either have to let them finish or pay them $4000 to break the contract. When asked about any issues, his excuses are ALWAYS I have over 30 other jobs to do. I can't focus just on yours. We were told that the job would start in 4-6 weeks and take 6-8 to finish. It hasn't even started, and it has been 11 weeks. Meanwhile, we have no kitchen or no laundry room and the bugs and the cold are coming through the open roof by the minute. The manager has decided that the indoor repairs should be done first to get us back in our house when there is a tarp covering roof holes that could be blown off at any minute during a storm/wind and ruin our house again. I called the owner yesterday to discuss the issue, and he has not returned my phone call. I will NEVER, EVER use them again. read more

Servpro made a visit to our water damaged home very quickly. After removing all the water damaged materials they set-up dehumidifiers and fans to dry the home. They gave quick estimates and gave realistic reconstruction times. They are giving our home back to us. Hopefully we never need to use their services again but we would recommend them to others facing similar situations. read more

Horribly dishonest company that claims to work for you but doesn't take long before they start working for the insurance company. Had water damage and mold in my home from broken pipe. Called Servpro, spoke with a nice guy there, Colton. He explained the process and said, " we work for you, not the insurance company ". I hired them to give me an estimate. But explained to them I may or may not use the insurance to pay for damages. I would not use the insurance if it was minor and didn't cost much, I would pay for it myself. David came out with his meter and other equipment and found moister, water damage and mold. He said my bathroom, hallway and kitchen would need to work to remediate and repair. It took over a week to get the estimate. After I received the estimate, I read over it and forwarded it to the claims manager who immediately became minorly enraged and agitated saying the estimate was " ridiculous " and severely overpriced. I ask him what the problem was, and he stated that Servpro always tries to make a mountain out of mole hill and overcharges. At this point I have not signed a contract with Servpro, and I didn't expect what happened next. A day or so later I spoke with the claims manager who took it upon himself to call Servpro and complain about the estimate, even though I had not hired Servpro, David decides to negotiate my claim. He then submits a second estimate more than $2000 less. I'm curious and ask why would either of you discuss this without notifying me, I hired Servpro to work for me, not you. The claims manager explained there was something in the estimate that shouldn't be there. I agreed but found out later that wasn't the only discussion they had. David with Servpro actually negotiated my claim and that ticked me off. He negotiated price and the scope of work. Evidently this is how this company works and cowers to the insurance companies once confronted. At this point Servpro has stopped working for me and is now working for the insurance companies. Deserves zero stars. The worst company I have ever dealt with, I don't even know where to start. We had a house fire and ServPro/Green Team Restorations was sent out to clean up and repair our house. We had our stuff packed up and moved out so ServPro could clean our belongings from the fire as well as repair and replace damage done to the kitchen. The reconstruction was a nightmare. Craig "Hoss" Taylor and his crew were horrible. Not only was Craig the rudest, most unprofessional person to speak to, his crew did a terrible job. the painters cut every corner they could from NOT priming my walls as they were instructed to do, to not removing mirrors or hardware to paint behind,to not using drop cloths and making a huge mess in every room.. yet they certainly billed for this stuff! I would recommend every customer to go through any invoice from ServPro with a fine tooth comb because these con artists will sneak in all kinds of extra charges. Once I addressed Craig about the horrible job and corners they were cutting he told me it was my word against the painters word (i even had multiple pictures proving everything) and told me if I had a problem I could address the paint crew myself! Which I did, but I should not have been asked to do this. That is the job of the manager or supervisor, not the client. Extremely unprofessional. Then the crew unhooked my dishwasher but didn't cap any of the pipes, leaving a dripping hose laying on my kitchen floor that soaked it, and Craig had the audacity to tell me I needed to make ANOTHER insurance claim because there was a leak in my kitchen.. There was not a leak, it was his crews negligence and poor working habits. The crew also clogged both of my toilets.. After the paint job was finished they were supposed to replace all of our outlet swatch plates, but they didn't. They left every outlet and light switch in my house exposed, but they certainly billed my insurance for every outlet and light switch swatch plate AND were indeed paid over $200 for these outlet/light plates! However I still have not received any outlet/light switch covers and it has been 4 months after they finished the paint job. I have been asking managers and supervisors to pay me back for these outlet plates and instead of doing that they tried to send a guy out on January 5 2023 to count and replace the outlets covers, but the paint job was finished in July 2022 I obviously replaced them myself before freaking January 2023! I just want to be paid back for them since servepro was paid for them anyways (but like I said these guys are crooks!). We ended up having Lowe's finish the kitchen reconstruction job after Craig's team were "done" with the painting and floors. As for the pack out, once they returned our stuff in august I noticed multiple large items were missing. I immediately reached out to Greg Hocking to let him know we were missing three dressers as well as a bunch of linens (curtains,pillows etc) and some other things. He told me they broke the dressers during the move, okay why was I not informed of this until now? They just didn't return these items and weren't going to say anything until I asked where my stuff was?! As for the other items, He told me he would look into them and provide the necessary information to my insurance so I could be reimbursed and replace them. Well over four months went by before he was able to look into this and provide proof (something that should've only taken a day to look into!) plus I had to call and email many many times and speak with supervisors to get him to even do that. Every time I reached out to the company for resolutions I have been given the run around. As bad as a house fire or flood can be, dealing with ServPro was worse. Do not use this company. read more

Imagine EPB, while trying to add new wiring, missed the spot, hit the water sprinkler system and flooded 3 apartments. SERVPRO was called in to clean up the mess. Trying to be a good uncle, I went over to help my niece and her roommate. Before we got ready to leave, I asked one of the SERVPRO techs what time we needed to be there the following morning. He said, "We open at 8 a.m., so we should be here by 8:30 a.m. I told him I would see them at 8:30 a.m. the next day. My niece and her roommate were there and I arrived shortly after. Were the SERVPRO people there? Yes, they were somewhere, but it was not as the technician had indicated during yesterday's conversation. I did a few things around the old/new apartments. Jump ahead to January 2nd, 2017, no attention to my niece's apartment has been done. Later that same night, I contacted SERVPRO via their website to advise of the problem. I was surprised to receive a phone call from the Operations Manager, Craig Hixson, at 10:45 P.M. that same night. At that point, I was impressed. January 3rd, my niece's roommate was awakened at 8:30 by someone from SERVPRO. She got up, dressed, made her way to the flooded apartment, and started packing up some remaining small items. No contact with SERVPRO was made. Later that evening at 12:42 a.m. (1/4/17), I sent another email to SERVPRO. It stated: I submitted an email last night regarding the cleanup of Building 2, due to EPB's flooding of three apartments. I received a phone call from the Operations Manager at 10:45 p.m. I was assured that the clean-up would be completed by todayAs of the writing of this email, the clean-up remains undone. I stopped by the apartment complex office and spoke with the property manager. As it was near 12 p.m., I asked if I needed to call your office or if that was something that they need to do. The property manager stated that she could call them, but that they were on the property working and had indicated that they knew they had unfinished work on the aforementioned building. She requested that I let her know if your company was not doing a good job. I told her that I would, and rest assured, I have. I drove by building 2 and saw the company truck. I got out and talked with the brown haired gentleman with a long beard, who had been so nice previously. I asked him what time they might expect to be able to finish my niece's apartment. He stated that they were working in one of the other apartments, but stated that another team was coming to help and that he felt that the work would be completed by the end of day. I informed them that I would not be on-site, but if they would call me, I would be glad to meet them there. The ServPro associate stated that he had both mine and my niece's roommate's phone numbers. At this point, Great! This is the second email to your office advising you that your associates are making promises they either cannot or will not complete. If the remaining work is not completed tomorrow, I will be going to my social media sites, i.e., Facebook & Yelp, and providing poor reviews of your company and its services. SERVPRO: Hello Mr. M, I left a voicemail on the number that you had listed on the previous e-mail, but also wanted to follow up via e-mail. I certainly appreciate your frustration in being told that a certain process would take place, only for that not to be the case. I have spoken with the production manager who is overseeing this project, along with the crew chief, whom you mentioned speaking to, in your e-mail. They have assured me that the work will be completed this morning and that they will both do everything in their power to ensure that there are no further issues. Tyler, the crew chief, should be giving you a call once they are on-site and will coordinate a time with you to meet and remove the final items, at your convenience. Again, my sincere apologies that this process has not gone as smoothly as it should. Delivering efficient, quality service to our customers, who are inevitably dealing with stressful situations, is one of the core values of our company and so, I want to make sure that we do everything we can to ensure the remainder of the job goes as it should. Horrible Experience!Agent Greg Hocking won't return phone calls or respond to emails. Servpro was cal in to do a pack out of my big items in my apartment on Wednesday July 22,2020 they arrived about 9:30 still had some paperwork to fill out they got started about 10:00 am while I was at my storage unit unloading something received a phone call from they lady that was working with the guys saying they was leaving because one of the guys had a Dr appointment at 1:00 and they would be back in the morning to get the rest of the items. This should have only been a 1 day job because they was only moving my big items. So my insurance should be billed for a day and 1/2 because they left early on July 22,2020. I have still yet to hear from agent that is working on my acct. I have called and left message with the guy at front desk(Colt) to have agent Greg Hocking to give me a call. I have called Greg number the voicemail is full send email no response. Was told by agent all cleaning would be done by July 30,2020 and will be able to move into my storage unit. The musty smell in the upstairs bathroom proved to be mold. We called Servpro and they actually came out within the hour to help us with the situation. They dealt with our insurance company and fixed the problem without us having to leave the house. They explained the entire process they use to rectify the mold issue at every step of the process.
