We looked into having a barn door installed & that's when we came across Roxana & her barn door company. We walked into her show room (which was kind of small, however, contained enough samples to choose from) & had a long & very pleasant conversation with her. We looked at dozens of doors & the moment we saw "our door", it was a no-brainer, we had to have it. We purchased the door in April & had it delivered to us by June. We built a new home starting in Nov. 2010 and hired Mr. Duda to clear our land, put in a driveway,…read moreand install an in ground septic system. He did part of the driveway, part of the land work and completed the septic and then walked away with our money and now refuses to finish the job because he said he underbid the job. His mistake but he takes it out on his customers. The driveway he started was nothing but mud and ruts and we were getting stuck in it so we had to pay an additional $425.00 to someone else to fix it after he refused to clean up his mess. The land is filled with debris from chopped down trees, and is very uneven because he never graded or backfilled the dirt around the house or garage which our building contractor paid him extra to do. Against our wishes our building contractor paid Mr. Duda $10,500.00 from the original $12,000.00 price we agreed upon and he took the money and ran. I would NOT recommend Mr. Duda to anyone for any excavating work. He would tell us all the time he was coming out to work on the land and we would not see him for days and weeks at a time. It would take him days to return to our phone calls. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau against him and we are letting everyone we know about what poor service he provides in hopes he does NOT do this to anyone else. We regret ever hiring Mr. Duda and we can only hope that sharing our experience will let others know what a horrible business James Duda Excavating is so they do not end up like we did.
