I've had SECTV fiber Internet service for a little over a year now. No issues until July 22, 2026 when we lost Internet completely. It's still down 6 days later with no end in sight. All we get told is they are working to restore service with no idea when it'll come back. Can't work from home. Can't stream TV. We've been customers for almost 30 years, but I've about had it with Service Electric!! For months, our internet would drop several times a day. It took multiple calls and two visits before they could get it to be somewhat reliable. Now, the telephone service has been down for four days. The best they can tell you is "the database has to be rebuilt". Why do they have to rebuild. Haven't they ever heard of having a backup copy? I wish I could give them a potato as a rating. I just moved to the area and only had Internet for a week before a system downage across the board, said on the website that it was all back up and to contact them to get the issues resolved. It's been days now of going back and forth with them to get a technician out to fix this issue, I feel they lie to you and make your life hell on purpose. I was told that they need to have someone call me to set up a technician if it's after 4. They never called me. I called them and they told me I need to call before 430 that day. Well I call them as asked and I'm told the system is down and that I will need to try the 9 to 5 window for the next day. Every single time you call this white***** company they have some excuse or bull**** on why they can't fix or even help with a damn thing. They always say Oh tomorrow, then tomorrow comes and it's still oh tomorrow or another excuse. This is not my f****** problem. So fix it. read more

I've had quite a few outages over the time with them. They always blame the customer equipment and say I need a new modem or router. Out of desperation I would usually buy what they were selling but it never lasts too long and I've retested every router that they made me replace and they always work fine. I finally upgraded to their fiber optic system and it wasn't noticeably faster even though I pay for a high tier service. When they installed it they did not follow the plan that the installer and I agreed upon and the installation is substandard. They are essentially a bunch of individuals running around making promises but, since the upper management is so poor, nothing is followed through. There is no accountability and they don't even tell the customer why the service is out. The fiber system has been out since thursday evening and they apparently have no idea how to fix it. Today is Saturday and 2 people in this household work from home. Service Electric Birdsboro is going to cost my wife and daughter their jobs if the internet is not restored by Monday and it's very dubious whether they can find an outside contractor smart enough to fix the software. read more

Worst experience of my life - thieves in my opinions. I prepaid, had over $200 on the account as prepaid. Canceled my service & needed to return equipment that I had to rent from these jackals - equipment over 2 years old. CRAPPIEST INTERNET SERVICE EVER - insisted that I needed their plumes - course that's another fee!!' They said I couldn't get my refund of overpayment until I returned equipment. Packed it up for return, and 4 months later, I call to say I never got my refund. I'm told I never returned equipment and once they get it refunded on its way. I was surprised about non-return, but found the bag in the roommates car - took it back to them same day. Got a check for under $30! What the actual $?$! THANK THE LORD that Xfinity got rid of the monopoly - Service Electric had a strangle hold on customers!!! i had cable issues in birdsboro so they installed fiber which is no different with service. they said my bill would go down and it did for a month and now it's back up again. we installed fiber for my dad and they never gave him his Wi-Fi password and now we can't get into anything. Great customer service and great technicians, but lousy, overpriced internet. Every time we call, they tell us "everything is fine on our end", like my own eyes don't know what they hell they see when I run a speed test. We pay for 200mbps every month and we don't even crack 20 anymore. I can't even stream a show on Netflix without it buffering every two seconds. I play games online but I'm constantly lagging and getting kicked off servers and out of parties. I would rather have DSL than this so called "high speed internet". Calling this high speed internet, is like calling Taco Bell authentic mexican food. I'm about ready to rip out our modem and chuck it onto 322. "Incompetence" is the 1 word description i would give this company. Having lived all over the north east (literally every state from PA to ME) i have dealt with lots of isp's and this is by far the worst i have ever seen even if i go back to dial-up days. The intermittent signal loss you see the other reviews talking about is 100% real yet apparently also 100% acceptable to these jerks. Their rates are also disgusting because in most of their service area they ARE the only game in town, literally twice the price for 1/3 the speed you would get from a REAL service provider. The fact that they know they are the only game in town allows them to hire the most obnoxious, snotty, dismissive, degenerates they can find to handle their support calls and as such their customer service is abysmal. There REALLY needs to be some sort of oversight in situations like this, such a huge number of people shouldnt be made to suffer charlatans like this. One would think a communications company would have an ample amount of technicians answering the phones. Recently, the internet speed quality has dipped down IMMENSELY. I am a gamer, who relies on a steady connection and a low ping level. An average ping level would be about anywhere from 0-50. During times when I am playing, the ping shoots up anywhere from 500 to 5 freaking hundred thousand. The streaming speed quality is even worse. Youtube videos, most of which are maybe 1 to 5 minutes long, take far longer to load. I am lucky sometimes to even see the page load up. If you want quality internet speeds and connection? The 40/50 mb internet service is only so-so for two users in the household, each with a computer, plus one TV. When the TV is on, the computers are not in use. We have periods where we will experience many brief (15-30 secs) interruptions in service -- not only annoying, but sometimes disconnects zoom and other meeting set-ups. Then a perfect week may follow. But the 40/50 is supposedly more than adequate for our level of use, according to ServicElectric. So why the drop-outs? In addition, YOUTUBE TV has begun to fail in its streaming with a little too much regularity. It is not a brief stoppage; it lasts hours, sometimes days. I would avoid Youtube TV. Service electric is absolutely the most pathetic provider out there. four years of service with them and have had nothing but issues. 1) service call for no internet - tech came out and replaced box that was all no trouble shooting or anything was there 10 mins ( called back an hour later still no service) 2) 2 weeks after call- replaced splicer for cable and internet ( was told the last tech was an idiot) still has not fixed issue 3) another service call #6 cable boxes are not working- was told these are old boxes and I need to swap with newer boxes- this is 3 months after switching to them 4) still shitty internet service - replaced wires on my street - and was told that should take care of it and will not have an issue- ( i was out of internet for 2 weeks- no credit) 5) Got deployed- asked to freeze my account- was told sure when I return to call and they can unfreeze it. ( came home to a $800 bill service was never frozen and of course no record of me calling 6) reinstated service - low and behold cable boxes do not work again 7) Car accident - was in a coma for 2 months- again family called and explained the situation- was told I have to call to put hold on account ---again charged $450 8) final straw - 2 of 3 boxes fail to work again...called to end service was cursed at and told It was my fault the boxes failed!!!!!! Well the boxes and modem are sitting in my driveway waiting for them to come get them. I called T-Mobile for high speed internet and is night and day......and the best part it is $175 cheaper. I've recently received a bill with over 100$ in data overages. After agreeing to update the package service electric was only willing to credit me half. I refuse to pay these overages, and it is sad service electric would rather lose a customer and not receive any payment then credit me this and upgrade my package. On top of that offer no such packages of unlimited data are offered in order to avoid this scenario from happening again! I am usually a supporter of small business but see as how you draw up the contracts to keep Comcast from giving service to my area is pure price gouging. Service Electric Cablevision should be required to remove the word 'service' from their name, as it is misleading. I suggest they change it to No Service Electric Cablevision. I can tolerate having to call during 'bankers hours' wait for a tech who will inevitably write that the service call that was 20-30 minutes actually lasted for an hour. I could tolerate those things if I could actually access the Internet. My connection speeds are often excessively slow, to the point that I either am unable to connect or I so frequently lose my connection that I am unable to WFH. At this point, No Service Electric Cablevision, is costing me time (buffering and dropped connections) and money (missed deadlines). This is the type of poor treatment that inspires change.
