Community Action Agency Coeur D'alene - Drove back and forth so many times

Community Action Agency Coeur D'alene

On February 7, 2019 my wife and I filled out an application for some help with our furnace which…read morehad stopped working in one of the record breaking winters for February. We waited and waited and never heard a word back even after being transferred to leaving a message for 'Weatherization' for Community Action at least four times. Community Action did lend us a portable electric heater to help keep our house warm, but that and other electric heaters drove our electric bill over the top. Finally. on February 19, 2019, after calling again, not receiving a return call, we reached the representative who said she had been in conferences, and that because 'Weatherization' had been previously granted some 10 years earlier we didn't qualify. She did say there were other possible ways we could receive help. On February 26, 2019 we called again wanting to find out if anything further had been found out about getting some help. The receptionist at the Coeur d'Alene office was extremely rude on the phone saying that the person we wanted to speak to did not work at that office, but at the Lewiston, Idaho location even though we had been transferred several times before to leave a message. Her solution was to refer us to the '800' number. That same day we were able to rectify our furnace issue with the help of Avista Utilities, after we called in desperation not knowing what our options were. They were remarkable. Never a call back. Never a notification of our status. We recently suffered a heart attack. We are on unpaid FMLA and unpaid leave. We are awaiting word on surgery. We are on food, and energy assistance. Bless you Idaho! Community Action you need to reevaluate the behavior of those who represent you. Not following up, and not returning calls is not acceptable.
