We had a beautiful meal here. The food itself was honest and very well cooked Italian, with generous portions. We had starters of pasta and Spaghetti Bolognase that were big enough to be main courses! Having had my last Spaghetti Bolognase at Prezzo, and been deeply disappointed, I can tell you that the difference here was night and day! Tasty, real, amazing. The mains themselves were great too; I had a wonderful sirloin steak with sauteed potatoes that were cooked in rosemary some of the best potatoes I've ever had! (How often could you say that!) For dessert, I had a unique caramelised orange and Grand Marnier creation that was incredible! The atmosphere is wonderful and unique. The restaurant is like some kind of cross between the 1920s, the 1970s, and everywhere in between, but it's got real, authentic character. It's not some massive soulless chain restaurant's concept theme for a restaurant, done with focus groups and marketing men, it's this man's pride and passion. If you've heard Gordon Ramsay talking about passion for cooking and pride in what you do, here's where you can actually see it. We were served by Sergio himself quite a character! All in all, we had such a great time that we have already booked to go again next week, and will be taking others with us too. read more
