In all seriousness I loved his positive vibe and energy, I must admit it was quite refreshing. His office staff from the time I walked in the door until I left were equally refreshing. They were genuinely happy and outwardly friendly. I felt at ease the moment I sat down after checking in. His assistant was just as friendly. The primary care physician I had for nearly two decades had taken another position about six weeks ago and I could no longer see him. I've been so stressed out trying to get a new doctor and wish that I had gone to see Dr. Garrett sooner. I can't even see how he is accepting new patients but I am grateful that he is.

Now,…read morehowever, I find that he rushes you in and out of the examining room.so fast, it's hard to really address your issues. if you don't come with a written list of what is going on, he shakes your hand to greet you and shakes your hand to say goodbye. Thanks you so much for coming. it's bizarre. I guess I've gotten past those issues. I just made sure. that I had a list with me every time. .MOST things were addressed , as long as I addressed them first. Today, I have had it and I am furious! I had an appointment that I was waiting for, for more than three months with a gastroenterologist. He was fully aware of my gastro problems, as he prescribed me a medication for some relief. I brought up her name (the GI Dr) and told him that's who I want to see. As soon as I started to say her last name, he said the first name. He knew exactly who she was and the great reputation she has. I told him at that appointment, which was several weeks ago, that I would be going to her, but that I would need a referral. Like everything else, he says "ok. No problem. We're on it"Well, today,, I heard from the gastro doctor's office. I had spoken to her twice already today and had also called Dr Garrett twice, as she was looking for a referral. After all sorts of back and forth, the GI's office called and said that if they didn't have the referral by 3 PM, they would have to cancel my appointment for tomorrow. That was around noon or earlier.I spoke to a woman. in the referrals department at Dr. Garrett's office, and she promised me she would get a hold of Dr. Garrett and have thim approve the referral. She promised me that she would call me back before the end of the day to let me know what was going on. I said I needed to hear from her no later than three. Well, 3 o'clock came and went, and I got a phone call from the G.I.'s office, telling me that they would have to cancel my appointment. Now, I can't get an appointment for almost a year. I am beyond upset! And I'm not only upset with Dr Garrett, I'm upset with his referrals department. She wasn't very nice and was kind of annoyed,and she certainly didn't get the job done that she had promised.

After previous experience at Island Doctors sometimes waiting over an hour to see the doctor, this is amazing. Dr. DeLamerens is warm, friendly and skilled. A win all the way around!

Her staff are always easy to talk to and get billing/appointments with. Nurse is very nice and a pleasure to work with. Dr.Cooper definitely had gotten more busy since I've started seeing her. So understandably she's spread more thin. Yet I still feel like I'm not just a number and listened to. Which is very rare these days. Highly recommend her. Yet kinda wish I could keep her a secret lol.
