After two cancelled appointments and two unanswered e-mails, I just requested a refund from Living Social. Not a fan... :(

I recently had a foot massage that far exceeded my expectations--it was so much more than just a…read moremassage. From the moment it began, I could feel the stress and tension melt away. The therapist's touch was perfect, targeting pressure points that not only relieved my tired feet but sent waves of relaxation throughout my entire body. It was an overwhelming experience that left me feeling completely rejuvenated and at peace. The ambiance, soothing music, and the care put into each movement made it feel like a full-body relaxation session. I walked out feeling lighter, refreshed, and incredibly calm. Highly recommended! One point to make though, is that when session is over and you walk to front desk to pay, the therapist stands by the exit door basically waiting for their tip before allowing you to leave. I guess they have had people walk out without tipping but it is sorta an intimidating approach.

I ate dinner near by, had some neck and back soreness so booked a massage. I have had 100's of…read moremassages and this ranks up there with the worst massage ever. It was more like an attack than a massage. I felt more beat up than soothed. The movements were harsh and too fast. I was uncomfortable the whole massage. There was absolutely nothing relaxing about it. The pain is no better either. This person needs a complete retraining. Maybe this place is only good for foot massage and not body. No chance I will come back and I would recommend passing up on this place. My recommendation is to have the person who trains have the staff massage them so they can see where improvement is needed. Typically when I get bad service I do not post it but this was that bad I needed to warn others.

It gave me Tulum jungle vibes. We waited for less than 5 minutes before our appointment and were offered bottles of water. The place is big and the rooms are separated with gauzy curtains, so you get privacy but don't feel isolated. Yogi and Shree did a great job! It was a great way to spend the afternoon and so relaxing. They have a membership price which seems to be a good option to check out if you anticipate you'll go more than once.

Should have been a warning not to go. Even the receptionist asked me if 1:30pm was acceptable. Your customer service needs improvement. Waited outside from approx. 1:44pm and nobody was at the reception desk. In businesses that reception desk would be best to have a person waiting. Was not told that I would receive a text message, and explained that I do not give out my phone number. Here's some advice, don't double down on excuses when your client tells you when their appointment was scheduled. And the sad part is that I was so looking forward to having that massage. I wouldn't trust you with my feet now, and I'm sorry that I had to write this. Hoping that Jessica will contact me. By the way, they delete any negative comments that they receive.

I have wasted hours trying to cancel my membership.. the front desk people can't do it. You need to speak to a special person that is going to try to convince you to stay. But you are lucky enough to get a hold of somebody. They will continue to charge your credit cards until you speak to somebody like this. God forbid you have a job and work during the day.. you will never be able to cancel your membership. No one returns calls when you leave messages with the management that is supposed to be canceling your membership.

If I could rate zero stars, I would. I have a month to month membership which I have been trying to…read morecancel after 7 phone calls to the SLH location. It's funny how they can sign you up in 30 seconds, but you have to go through hell to cancel. I called the location last Friday 2/2 at 4:13pm in afternoon to cancel my membership, explaining why, but was told it could not be canceled until I spoke to an account manager. I was transferred to an account manager but received the account manager's VM; I had to leave a message and call the location back. I was told no one was working to take my call at that time. (I'm pretty sure 4:15pm on a Friday would be considered within business hours on this planet and the location is open til 10pm.) After being told that they would call on Monday - I asked for a specific time for a call since I have a job and need to block off my calendar. After some back and forth that it was going to be a four-hour window of time during this supposed phone call which i was told was 12:40p-4:40p (during most people's business hours), a manager picked up and assured me I would receive a call and gave me some slots. I chose Monday 2/2 (today at 1pm EST) I received a confirmation email for my 15 minute call with Kat and then a reminder email for the call an hour before it started. No one called, so I had to call the location back where I was transferred to VM and had to call back the location...this happened THREE MORE times with no one picking up the account manager or finance person's line and me calling back, explaining the situation for the 4th time. Each person I spoke to had a different story - first, Kat was running behind and then Kat was on the phone and then someone told me that she could see Kat wasn't on the phone and I still was transferred to voicemail. I called back once more and was told they were running behind. I sent an email - and it's now 2:30 pm and NOTHING. The fact that you can sign up for this membership without lifting finger but you have to speak to an "account manager" to cancel is a waste of time. Far worse, is the run-around that this location has put me thru since Friday and that is the part that is totally unacceptable. If you need to cancel before the next billing cycle but they make you wait for 4 days - you're going to get charged because of their lack of professionalism. If the account manager was supposed to talk me out of canceling; I assure you after this experience, I will use up my credits before they expire in 90 days at a different location and never set foot in one of these places ever again.

Yesterday was my first time at any Hand & Stone location! The owner, Nick, distributed gift cards…read morefor his fellow nurses at the hospital where we all work, as a thank you for working through the pandemic. I thought that was the nicest thing. I think I've only worked with him a handful of times and it was a long time ago, and he still managed to get his fellow healthcare workers a gift card for a relaxing massage or a facial. I thought this was so sweet. I received the gift card a few months back and I completely forgot to use it at the time, but I finally remembered this past week to go. I called the Howell location and told the receptionist that I had a gift card, and that I wasn't really sure specifically what it covered. The receptionist was super nice on the phone, she asked me for the gift card number so she can plug it in and let me know which service was covered for my visit. I had the option of a massage or a facial. She helped me book a massage over the phone. They had a convenient day and time for me available to come. I got there yesterday and the staff were immediately friendly, they greeted me, took my temperature, the sign in was super fast, I just had to do a few signatures on an iPad. I sat down in the waiting area which was socially distanced. Everyone had masks on. I was called in by Angie a few minutes later. She was absolutely incredible. She asked me if there were certain areas I needed worked on during the massage and I told her that I have chronic lower back pain and I asked politely if she could spend more time on that and she did. She left the room so I could get undressed and go on the table, as soon as she came in the room she washed her hands immediately, she wore her mask properly- covering both mouth and nose. I definitely think this is important considering you are in a confined space with someone for an hour. So I was happy to see that she respected that. I asked her if she could apply firm pressure and she said yes and she did. I've only been to one other massage place in New Jersey which was massage envy. I was there in February and the massage therapist did not apply enough pressure for me even though I asked her too, making it an overall unsatisfied visit which led me to not go back. Angie applied the perfect amount of pressure, I even told her that I was going to book an appointment for my husband for him to see her for a massage. I was super happy with my overall visit that I even left with a MEMBERSHIP! The receptionist asked me at check out if I wanted a membership and at first I was hesitant because I know these visits can get expensive but I was very satisfied with my visit and the membership price is a good deal. The receptionist was friendly about it and not pushy, which I appreciate. There's nothing worse than a pushy salesperson! I'm definitely looking forward to coming every single month. Thank you to the lovely staff there!! Can't wait for my next visit!!
